Man what a day

Cooled off pretty good yesterday. Today was a high of 30°.

And another storm came through. Was about 80 miles from home today to handle a service call.

Got to the quarry around 11:15am. And it started sleeting.

Finished up and left the jobsite about noon. At this point there was an inch of slush and ice on the gravel.

Poked my way down out of the hills into town. And boy did it open up.

We had a tri-fecta with the weather.

It started pouring down freezing rain and sleet. As well as thundering and lightening. Took me 1.5 hrs to travel the 30 miles to interstate through 6" of slush and crud.

Then another 1.5 hrs to travel the 50 miles home.

I texted my boss when I stopped before getting on the interstate to clear the windshield wipers. They were sitting about 3" off the glass due to ice build up.

My soon to be 68 yo wife had cataract surgery with corrective lens implants. Now 20-20 vision and no glasses after wearing them over 60 years!
Medicare paid for just cataracts, not implants but well worth the few $K.
She says colors are now vivid!

That's great! But..... now how are you going to be able to do stuff without her seeing you?

Believe it or not in 50 years this year I've never done anything I wouldn't want her to see!
That is funny though!

My plowing session only lasted 3 hours as usual. Under the inch of snow we got after it all stopped was about an inch of frozen rain/sleet. Hard pushing. It is all off to the sides of the driveway now and I am ready for the next winter event.

RS, thanks for a lot of info. I was simply looking for a US Production vs. US Demand graph...clearly we were energy self-sufficient in 2020 but not now. I'm fine with closing the discussion and hearing more about your rifle.

PJ have a Sheridan pellet rifle really enjoy the old boy. My grandfather had it asked me to shoot it once and he picked out the target I hit it not once but twice he said I could shoot it better than he could so it was mine probably mid 70s

My MIL gave me a Red Ryder. Not sure the box has been opened.

Ours doesn't switch modes, so flame wants to jump out and bite you! If the door is just a little bit ajar, you have about 10 seconds before it shuts down and sounds an alarm like a smoke detector. Luckily, if you press the 'off' button, it will shut up.

I wish I can adapt that feature to use on some people I know.....
