18° and snowing.

Thanks for the kind words, this one is tough.

Think I’ll go in late to work. Roads worse than yesterday’s 4” snow, cause they were cold this time and it’s sticking.

I think a ticky tack call at end may have changed the outcome, but overall a good game compared to most supper bowls. Only saw 2nd half and missed the cinci TD.

I spent hours yesterday trying to get audio working on one of the new computers I bought for church. Think it’s a win11 issue. It says there is no sound device. Troubleshooting says everything is working. Finally put a ticket in to Dell. Google says to reinstall the sound drivers, which I did and it still don’t work.

Good morning.
13 and bright sky, might make it to 25.

Yesterday was a sloppy day, ended up with an inch or two of wet snow, but with the temperature falling, it was important to get it all cleaned up or live with the ice. I opted to clean it up.
Here’s some before and after pics.

Other than watching the football game, that was about all I accomplished yesterday.
As an after effect of her seizure, Emily has lost some control over her hind legs, she some times stumbles or drags a leg when she walks. The good thing is that she doesn’t seem to be in any pain, and is still happy, but it makes me sad.

I’m off to Vero Beach this morning, looks like an 80 knot headwind going south. I’ll be in the Jet, but it will take longer than the turboprop usually does. Should be a quick ride home though. Hopefully quick enough that I can get something accomplished when I get home.

Good Morning!!!! 54F @ 4:15AM. Partly cloudy skies this morning will become overcast during the afternoon. High around 70F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph.
Last night's weather lady was calling for showers here and light snow in the mountains to the east this evening, so maybe she knows something WU doesn't. Even if she's right, it won't amount to much.

If -32 is "chilly", Bill, what do you consider "cold"?!?

When I was a kid, I had a neighbor that would tie his self propelled mower to a pole and let it cut a big circle out of the back yard. That ZT takes it to a whole new level, Doug.

We also considered ourselves very lucky when we could find one of those grape vines that overhung a creek or pond, that would make an excellent swing to send us Tarzan style into the water. For some reason, though, they never lasted long, as bigger kids delighted in tearing them down and spoiling the fun.

Sorry to hear about the conflict in the flock, Drew. Just another sign of the times.

Speaking of which, I learned the day before yesterday that my backhoe neighbor has been fighting that nameless disease since mid December. I've seen him twice face-to-face during that time, always at a distance but unmasked. That's too close for comfort.

If your commuter car is still suffering from hail damage, Kyle, a dazzle paint job would hide it pretty well. Kinda like how manufacturers paint prototypes when they intend to test them on public roads. But I'd be leery of a paint scheme that would camouflage the car in traffic, especially with all the distractions already competing for drivers' attention.

If you can talk your wife into riding in the bucket with a pole, Eric, please make a video to share with us, OK? Some shots of the inside of the dog house you're sleeping in would liven it up, too.😄

Beautiful weather for a motorcycle ride yesterday, with bright blue skies and warm, not hot, temperatures. Yuba pass was just over 6700 feet, and the snow banks on the side of the road had the sand on them a bit wet and slippery, but I was going slow to save gas anyway so it wasn't a problem. I thought I'd find gas in Downieville, but the store was closed and the pump handle taped over as they weren't just closed, they were closed for the season. Eighteen miles down the road at Bassetts, that store was also closed for the season. Yikes! An old timer in the parking lot said the next one, another eighteen miles down the road in Sierraville, would be open, then offered me a gallon if I wanted to follow him five miles the wrong way to his place. I thought I still had a gallon or so left, so took the chance and went for it. That station wasn't along the main drag, but I eventually found it, and was able to tank up. Now I know I can go at least 70 miles on the first reserve setting of that fuel tank. And still have a gallon in reserve. But it took a little longer at 40 MPH, no real hardship on those high and dirty mountain roads through such beautiful country.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

good morning all
cold 18 out with sun coming up, should be a nice day with highs only up to 28.
Like popgadget I thought about getting the snow off the truck before it froze.
Unlike him I didn't get it done, so will wait for much warmer weather coming in a few days.

Those black driveways love the sun

It's time to do taxes. Cold Monday, no errands to run, no excuses not to get it done.
Big pile of paper, lots of different stuff thrown in it, all "keepers". Now I have to file it.
I'm a much better piler than filer.
For me it's primarily finding a bunch of charity receipts and W2s.
My finances are pretty uncomplicated and I really don't need an accountant, but I've been using the same guy
almost forever. And it gives me a chance to go say hi once a year. Well maybe now. Most of those accounting offices have been zoom only
until recently.

Good morning! 26˚F here in the valley heading to the upper 60s. It was not suppose to freeze last night, soon I'll replace all shrubs that freeze with ones that don't.

The lady across the street had a bunch of tropical plants put in her yard and she gets a high school kid to cover them every time it freezes and uncover them a few days later. He has been out 6 times this Jan. and Feb. and the covered plants still are about half freeze burned.

Did anyone else notice there was an abundance of electric vehicle commercials during the Super Bowl. Conveniently there was also a charging station everywhere they parked also.

For all those with ice, watch out for falls, they are not fun.

Good morning, 22 going to 34 today. We got a very light dusting of snow, mostly on steps and decks. Should be much warmer by mid week.

We took a ride down to Mt. Vernon, MD yesterday to show my wife my favorite boating bar back in the day, bar and deck is gone and a two story beach type house is on the spot.
Same sort of thing happened this past summer, while we were in NC we rode back in the country do I could show my wife where I grew up, house, barns, sheds and pens are all gone, nothing there but weeds. If I close my eyes I can still smell the honeysuckle and peanut hay.

I’ve got errands to run today, so I’d better get started.

Good morning! 12° now. It was 5° when I got up about 4:30 this morning. Got a light snow overnight. Just enough to cover all of the paths I had chopped through the ice. 😲 High today is supposed to be about 28° or so.

Spent some time putting ice melt on the icy mess in the drive. Hopefully it does some good. Puttered in the garage. That was about it yesterday.

Was tired so went to bed early. No Super Bowl for us. Woke up during the night since my feet were cold. Seems our 25# Maine Coon cat has decided he likes sleeping in the bed now. He was curled up by my feet and had pushed my feet off of the bed. I had the 5# female laying on my shoulder. After moving cats out of the way, I got my feet back on the bed. He immediately curled up next to my feet again. When the alarm went off, he was well on his way to pushing my feet off the bed again.

I wonder if the IRS could make the worksheets for pensions more confusing. It really doesn't have to be that hard.

Everyone stay safe out there!

Rng, back in 1979 I was hauling powdered cement from Brooks, Alberta to Medicine Hat, AB. Had to stop outside Redcliff, AB to put a makeshift weather front (oil case cut open and wired in place with coat hanger wire) on the tractor. Detroit Diesels don't make any heat IF they aren't working/pulling. Started in MH and ran empty to Brooks. Only real reason I stopped was because I was scraping frost of the inside of the windshield. Temperature was -55°F and a North wind blowing. Now that is cold.

Don't give them any more bright ideas. :devilish:

I did my taxes Jan 27, using freetaxusa.com as usual and it was "accepted" by feds and two states. Saturday, I get letters from both states. Illinois say they need info to "verify my identity" - I could do that online. Iowa needs copies of some docs - which have to mailed in. I got the Fed refund Saturday.

After I filed, I rec'd a 1099 about a life policy that I forgot about that I surrendered. Now I need to file an amended return. I'm told I should wait until I get the state refunds, then file. Ugggh.
