Good Morning!!!! 52F @ 5:00AM. Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. High 61F. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph.
A little warmer today, but otherwise pretty much the same weather as yesterday. I'm not complaining.
Glad your slide didn't result in any unpleasant surprises, Paul.
You've got most of a year to catch up, Bruce. No hurry...
Hope you both dodge the Covid bullet, Eric. I'm still half a year away from your 66, but a full year away from collecting my "Full Benefit" of our Social Security.
The burn yesterday was slower than usual due to the higher moisture content in most of the wood, but that's a good thing in my book. I really don't like big fires, and smaller ones eventually get the job done. I was amazed, though, at how crowded some of the branches on the live oaks I was limbing and burning had gotten. They were packed solid, couldn't see through them, and had to be cut apart in several places to even pry them off the main trunk. Even the trunks were twisted and bent in every direction, pretty much useless for stove wood as it wouldn't stack worth a darn. First time I got through all eight batteries on the Makita saw.
Still plenty of trees left in the pile, so I'll probably just burn for another day. Easier to ride the horse in the direction it's already goin'...
