Drew, if you really want to make somebody's Christmas, go find that poor young mechanic who lost his 10mm snap on wrench, and save him from the horrible toll of having lost his 10mm wrench like the rest of us guys who have been around the sun at least 60 times without our 10mm wrenches.

Save him from certain Sheol.

If I had a choice, I think I would go for stitches. Those I can remove myself, as long as I can see them.

Heading to work for a few hours...mostly to wish everyone Happy Holidays.
Stepdaughter goes to work for a few hours too, but that won't be until late morning

Coffee just finished brewing. 19° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 34° with cloudy skies. Did not get gifts ready for tomorrow yet. Gets moved to top of list today. After Sassy gets a bath. No other plans.
Cranes keep digging away at mole hill next to feeders. Hope they get it. I saw a crane catch one this summer. Did get a picture but it was way out of focus.

Good morning, low 6 and high to 21°F. Wind calm. 70% chance of snow this evening.

I've got a dump and town run today, then conserve energy.

Have a safe day all

good morning all, chilly day, 27 going up to 39.

quick trip to supermarket this morning, then old friends coming over for tea later on this afternoon.
I got some gluten-free snacks for the husband. He has such challenges, Parkinsons, fighting the whole decline,
hard on both he and his wife. He's a super high end wealth mgr, min client has $20M. So he has the ability to seek the best care
and I think he donated a new wing to UPenn to make sure he did. Very quiet, soft spoken guy. Folks with big money to invest focus on trust,
and I'm thinking he is the most trustworthy person I know. His wife and I worked together on the same school board 15 years ago.
So while nice to see old friends, I'm a little worried what shape he will be in. And for sure we will all stay masked.

I have no plans for Christmas Eve. Think I might invite neighbors across the street over for a visit. She's going in for a whole new shoulder three days
after Christmas and is pretty nervous about it. I hope they don't shut down operations due to Covid.
Another friend who lives in Pine Run, one of the largest assisted living facilities in our area, very nice, told me the whole place is shutting down all Sunday activities and most social
events for the next three weeks.

with my best friend's adult son getting Omicron after three Moderna shots, this is getting worse, not better. Luckily he is feeling pretty good and getting better quickly.
I have to be the head of church this Sunday and I'm guessing a lot more folks are going to use Zoom. This time we know it CAN happen here.

as they used to end Hill Street Blues, stay safe out there. None of us sure want to go through what Rich did.

Good Morning.
It’s 24 and going to get up to 45 with rain likely this evening.

Yesterday was spent mostly doing farm chores. View attachment 726141

And delivering breads that my wife baked.

Still fighting with the RAV4 throwing codes. Looks like a different coil pack this time. Fortunately it’s one that’s easy to get to. I bought a set of six of them from Amazon for $70, which is about what I paid for one at the auto parts store. I’ll likely change the all the front ones this morning. The rear ones require removing the intake manifold.

After that, I’ve got more deliveries to make.

22F and cloudy @ 07:15, heading up to a high of 39F for the day. Other than today, Ten Day shows highs in the low 40's to high 50's. Current soil temp 29F, 24 hour average 31.6F ... so frozen.

Woman got cat food (and treats ... :giggle: ) picked up when ran out yesterday afternoon so they should be set for a while, also a little grocery shopping done. See she picked up some chocolate chips and shredded coconut ... so possibly some baking on the horizon. Interested in knowing more about that.

Worked on drilling and screwing flue pipe together yesterday afternoon after having to run out in morning. Three 2' sections with 90 degree solid elbows on each end and a 1' section on the one end where it passes through the wall and enters into the chimney. Used the stainless steel screws I picked up earlier this year, 4 to 5 in each joint. Had one seam that was very difficult to seat, probably spent better than a hour all told screwing around with that, but finally got it to seat properly. Installed cast iron damper on the section of pipe next to stove.

May try to get it installed today. Will be a bit of trick though, since it passes behind the gas forced-air furnace and there is only about 18" or so of clearance and the hot water heater sits next to that. Basically it has to be put up in two sections: the 90 degree elbow with the 1' section has to be placed into the chimney and then the longer section has to be placed into that elbow and screwed together, then rotated up and put into the wood burner. Not real easy to do with one set of hands and close clearances but we'll see how it goes.

Other than that, back to woodworking, labelling more plant markers, check indoor plants for water needs, maybe heat garage up and remove dirt (mostly peat moss) from empty square pot and replace it with good potting soil mix and do some clean up out there.

Bird feeders will be do for a refill today, along with checking bird bath.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Thursday before Christmas ... (y)
