48 going to 54, maybe some showers. We need rain.

Eric, that's an impressive shooting bench...looks rock solid...I've been known to use a wheelbarrow with some boards on top, a cardboard box or the hood of the mower and towels for a temporary one. Then I built something a little more permanent but used some leftover lumber that only lasted several years. I have a nice hand me down chair with adjustable gunrest but still not great.

BEF, nice job on that hose reel. Not going anywhere.

Thanks for the prayers and concerns for my wife...turns out her test is today...she had originally told me she was going to schedule for yesterday, but changed her mind since the only site with an appointment was a long way away and today will be much closer. It is a one hour results type test since the others take a couple of days that would be cutting it too close for Thanksgiving family visit.

I picked up the parts for the hot water heater, but was late yesterday getting home, and decided to tackle it today...have to drain the tank and replace both elements...requires a 1.5 inch (38mm) socket, which I was surprised I don't have...and neither did the Ace Hardware, so had to pick up a special cheapo wrench...Don, I need to go to your neighborhood garage sale and get some deals on tools like this.

Good morning, low 23 and high 25°F. Wind W 19 gusting to 34 mph. Flurries. With the wind chill it will feel like 9°F.
There is about 1/2" of snow on the ground.

Hydraulic guy quoted me a ballpark figure of 3-350$ each to rebuild my cylinders. I am thinking that IF he can get me a pair with 2" pistons x 24" length that should be good enough. Stock is 1.77" piston and 23.18" stroke. The eyes at either end are 1" D by 4.606"L. These measurments are according to the book.
I sure hope I don't have to win the powerball lottery in order to get them.

Alien, I don't see a chimney on the roof of your barn, doesn't get cold enough in winter to warrant a woodstove/furnace?

When the CPU went out it took out/locked up three of the hard drives. Junior is trying to find a way to unlock them. Might have to get a hold of Western Digital. WD are the only hard drives I use.

daugen, what is a 16' 2x4 worth? You can get 2 of 2x2s out of one 16'er.

Today is probably going to be an energy conservation day.

Stay safe all

43 outside with a gentle rain. Heading to mid-50's today.

Prayers for those ailing.

Hope all have a good start to the work week.

Looks like the holidays snuck up on us. Enjoy the time with family and friends. Be safe in your travels.

39° weather station says we had .03” rain. Looking at radar it’s moving away from here.
Both boys are home now.
I need to get to work, saving leave for next month.

Bill, thanks, now that I have a truck again I can buy the bigger lengths. Lumberyard cuts them in half for free.
I honestly don't know the price.

waiting for my technician Sok to arrive from Safelite glass. I'm going to ask him what happens if he breaks my windshield while trying to repair it.

Good Morning.
It’s 45 with a high of 50 forecast for today.

Yesterday was a quiet day, great breakfast with son, tinkered in shop, and worked on some songs. Discovered issue with remote switch was that it was 2g and no longer supported, so I had to buy a new 4/5G version. Helped a friend add a cushion valve to the angle blade on his tractor and set the relief pressures.

Today is up in the air. Grapple is scheduled to be delivered to friends shop, so I’ll have to pick it up if it arrives.
EA has free shipping, but the catch is that it is only to commercial locations or terminal pickup. Farms don’t count as commercial locations, they want a loading dock and forklift.

LFN, when I had a drive get scrambled, I was able to recover it with DMDE software. I tried their free version to see if it would work, then paid for a lower tier personal version to recover the entire drive, it did a wonderful job for me, and was inexpensive.

Morning all, rainy and 40s today, so work halted.
Spent over three hours trail clearing with the brushcutter, made goo progress in both areas.

Got the OhioSteel 50" lawn sweeper, works pretty well on semi-dry and dry leaves.
Need to empty twice per field, so not too bad. Easy to empty, we will see how it holds up.
Did 5 areas pretty quick.

Stepp - sorry to hear about your friend- our condolences. been a bad few years...

Mostly-hope the front chainring isn't too expensive. I know finding bike parts can take some time.

Drew-shed box looks like it would have been better with rubber bands-Fedex delivery? Bet $100 back in the 1860's was a huge amount that most people would be drooling over.
Walkway looks really good, do you hire out

Attack Alpacas :)

BEF-like the creativity to get the reel located.

Wngsprd- hope the water problem is fixed and hope wife is ok

Alien - barn looks amazing and thanks for the updates.

PopG - 2G - 3G is starting to be retired

I got permission from SO to buy a welder and already have projects lined up for when it shows up.
1) weld up lawn tractor deck
2) Make round wired lighted Christmas balls - anyone know a good source of mild steel wire to weld up the shape?

Figure I will make some wood forms to bend metal rods and weld the ends and a middle rib to hold shape. then paint so it doesn't rust in 15 minutes.

Speaking of trains, have my friends coming out next month and we'll be riding the bar car of the steam train out of New Hope. We can hear the whistle from our house sometimes.

Stay safe and be well

Good morning! 29 now, maybe 36 later. Lots of clear sky driving into work this morning.

Went to the store with the wife yesterday, took a nap, brought in firewood, and worked in the garage. Cleaned some more parts in the ultrasonic cleaner and assembled a Bultaco engine. The RH main bearings were stubborn going into the case. Heat and a crank puller got them installed. LH was piece of cake.

One year ago today, nothing really stands out in my memory. Guess it was a repeat of Sunday

Hopefully it is quiet this week at work, minimal amount of here. Vacation, business travel, and sick. I am off Wednesday

Everyone stay safe out there

PopG - 2G - 3G is starting to be retired
Just before I sold my 2018 audi they emailed me and told me they were discontinuing support for my 3G car early next year.
They mentioned a bunch of stuff that would no longer work, but I never bought their extra cost software.
I saw a map showing a 5G setup in Washington Crossing and also in New Hope and Lambertville.
Problem is they put this stuff "down in the valley" when up here in the hills it doesn't always get everywhere due to topography
getting in way. I'm sure an upgrade will very soon be made to municipal communications tower about 1/4 mile from my home.

I want a car that runs on no G....life is becoming one big subscription after another.
