as I was driving up the Delmarva peninsula there are a lot of tyson and perdue chicken farms.
And big signs saying $15-20 per hour to start, and one sign promised a $1500 signing bonus, but the other
sign offered $3000. That level of expense simply has to raise the cost of food.

Hi guys, barn is 15 meters wide and 12 meters deep. Each bay is 5 meters wide so I can open car doors without hitting anything. Rain has just hit hard so hoping it will be gone by the morning and build can continue. (Wishful thinking)
Having weird weather here at present. Never know what is going to happen.
Pleasant surprise this morning. I found a koala in a tree beside the house. Hopefully he has claimed the tree. (As they do) The last koala that lived in the tree died a bit over a year ago. They are lovely little blokes.

Special mention to David. Sorry to hear your BIL passed on mate. Please accept my condolences.

Doug

Good morning all. This mornings mist is slowly lifting, there looks to be a competition in progress to see which type of grass can hang on to the most water droplets.

David, sorry to hear of the loss of your BIL.

Bird, our small town has been expanding rapidly too. I can never complain about all the extra people though - because I am one of them !

I've gotten hopelessly 3 days behind. Will have to catch up when I can. I've gotten busy at work again.

Daughter's driving is bubbling up past issues with old Impala, has a front end passenger side deep squeak. Possibly the strut...or right side A arm bushings. Old car is not worth much, but I put new tires on it a couple of weeks ago, so now have incentive to keep it going a bit longer. Tranny shutters a bit when cold.

Sunday, Went to buddy's who bought the hay equipment (and huge tracksteer) to help cut hay. His field was still too wet. I told him, if we get Jack frost, that he will have to just shred it and forget the hay. Our cold front is coming tonight, but not supposed to get below 40F after all. So we ended up putting his 3 point rake back together. The huge tracksteer had quit working after he did some minor clean up work on it. He called the distributor and found out labor was $175/hour and driving was billed the same. OUCH... Anyway good news, we found out a relay was causing low voltage on the circuit for the main controller. Swapped it with another one, and walla, it put a huge smile on his face. He says he's gonna use it to clear 50 acres of huisache and mesquites....and then sell it.

Also have to get to work sooner due to business.

Happy Birthdays Mostly's wifes, BEF's son, Ron's son.

Prayers for Buppies and our team and country.

Billy beautiful pics. Glad you're in condition for a hike like that.

Good Morning.
It’s 48 with a high of 64 forecast with clear skies, and rain overnight.

Yesterday was a perfect day to work outside. Oldest son and I pulled the fountain from the pond, pressure washed it and stored it for the winter. Went back over to neighbors farm to figure out why the welder wasn’t charging the battery. Turned out to be the AC coil under the flywheel. A lot of work to fix for something that doesn’t see a lot of use. So for now, I’ll leave it on a battery minder, and just plug the battery minder into one of its outlets when it’s running. There is no battery draw other than for starting, the ignition is magneto, so that should be a workable solution.
Before I left, I serviced the shop crane next to it, which would only lift about a third of its stroke.

Today will (hopefully) be the last mowing of the season, but the weather has been so crazy, it’s not a certainty.
This evening is an Airport Authority Meeting. They are still done via Zoom.

Kyle, check with me before you look for a new vehicle for your daughter. Mom’s Toyota may be coming up for sale, very low miles. I just need to convince her she doesn’t need it.

Good Morning!!!! 52F @ 6:45AM. Mostly cloudy early, then sunshine for the afternoon. High around 65F. Winds light and variable.
We got maybe an inch of rain yesterday, and the driveway is still wet, but there's no sign of more rain in the 10-day. And weather down south looks clear with highs in the low 90s. One more shot at summer!

I think you may have already made the kitchen too nice, David. But it's in keeping with the rest of your work. (y)

Got the ethernet cables run over the length of the attic yesterday with the help of my friend, went about as well as can be expected. Also finished a bunch of little details in prep for our departure this morning. Trying to get on the road by 7AM, looks like he's running a bit late, but better him than me.:giggle:

Hump Day already!

Morning all;
Kind of a damp sour morning to start the day, supposed to clear off some.
Had a blood draw for Oncology lab work this morning so a 45 minute drive up, a 2 minute wait,
2 minutes in the chair and then a 45 minute drive back home to breakfast

Happy Birthday to all that celebrate 10 Nov., 246 years and counting, Semper Fi.

Happy Birthday to all that celebrate 10 Nov., 246 years and counting, Semper Fi.

and it all started in Philadelphia

The United States Marine Corps was established on November 10, 1775, to augment naval forces in the Revolutionary War. The recruiting headquarters was set up by Capt. Samuel Nicholas in the Tun Tavern on Water Street in Philadelphia, which is considered to be the birthplace of the Marines.
