Good morning!!!!

52°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 61° today.

Rained on and off for much of the weekend here. I did finally get the oil changed in my car on Saturday. Went to the grocery store after that. Man, was that place crazy. Spent the rest of the day playing around int he studio while The Wife worked on some quilts.

We had a temporary foster dog (deaf and blind) overnight Friday. He had been adopted a couple of months ago, and apparently the new family couldn't or didn't want to deal with an active case of "the puppies" in him, so they sent him back. He went back to the original foster family Saturday afternoon.

Sunday was windy and misty in the morning. It warmed up into the upper 70s in the afternoon, which fueled some severe storms for the evening. We found ourselves smack-dab in the middle of a tornado warning right as I was getting ready to shave and shower before bed. It's a nervous feeling to look at the radar and see the little "you-are-here" blue dot sitting right in the middle of the red warning cone area. Fortunately, nothing materialized from it, other than a later bed time (midnight).

Fantastic pictures, fellas.

Enjoy your retirement, Ted.

10 years of Good Morning. Thanks, Irv. Still my favorite place on the internet.

Read a book, stoked the fire, and made a pizza using some of that pepperoni spice. It was hot, but didn't taste much like pepperoni, though the pizza was good. And there's leftovers. 👍
I can't remember the last time I made a pizza. It's been years, since before we remodeled the house in 2016/17. I need to do that again. Homemade really is the best.

I did make lasagna yesterday ... and we have leftovers, too. (y)

Lou, I think you misread this, as I clearly did.
No one is suggesting RS sue, but the question was raised what is a dog bite "worth"?
If this is a neighbor and a known non-biter, surely the dog gets some slack. Maybe not by officials though.

Many of us are used to large properties where pets can run free.
but life in suburbia is very different.
One thing for sure, I doubt RS's wife attacked the dog...

If you have one of those dog breeds that are named, might not be a good idea to let dog run free.
When dogs bite little kids, the settlements can get very high and court doesn't care if you have insurance or not.

back from errands, have a few hours before rain comes in, think I'll suck up some leaves and stay outside as long as I can.

My first dog (Smedley, a Doberman) had a run (overhead cable with a lead to his collar). Ol' Smeds was an escape artist though...but always returned. During one of his escapades (I was a work), he got hit by a car...rear leg was bandaged quite a while and that kind of reduced his enthusiasm for midnight runs...but, he had a long and happy life after that.
Our next dog, Jule (Pitbull/Rottie mix) had a fenced in backyard...in fact, we put the fence in just to keep her in the yard.
Same thing with Bella...both in PA and then Vermont...she wasn't much of a roamer though...mostly a lapdog.
And, now with Margeaux (Heinz 57, but mostly Great Pyrenees). She has probably close to an eighth of an acre fenced in, so she's happy

Yes, you do have to control your critters...not just for the liability aspect, but for their own safety (hit by a car...shot by a neighbor)

Correct, Roy. Most dog problems are really owner problems. My Wife doesn't really train dogs; she actually trains their owners.

59F with a steady rain @ 11:30, heading up to a high of 64F for the day. Had 0.67" rain yesterday, but only 0.02" since midnight. That's likely to increase a good bit by the time midnight rolls around. Info is from a new PWS that's just down the road, about 1/2 - 3/4 of mile away.

Forecast low for Tuesday the 2nd is currently 35F ... so possible we could see a frost, depending on how that plays out.

Pretty safe bet that the fertilizer I put down the other day is well watered-in at this point ... :)

Need to set the refilled tube feeders that are in the basement back out on their pole, also check hopper feeder to see if it needs refilled. Possibly refill a suet feeder as well.

Normally see great numbers of various blackbirds (the color, not the type) swarming to migrate south. Have not seen those yet this year. Dunno whether that's because of that avian disease that was causing bird deaths in southern IN/OH or what but it seems like they are overdue. OTOH, it's been warmer than normal this fall.

If the rain slacks off later I'll get the new wipers put on The Woman's car.

There is a total of 39 irises that still need planted ... but it's way too wet to get into the new planting bed at this point. Looks like Wednesday at the earliest. But the rain is helping to show a couple areas where there are low spots where water is puddling.

Not sure what all else I'll get into today.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

Most insurances will pay a set amount - no haggle for dog bites. I'd file a claim on their insurance.

Yeah ... this is something we need to research further.

My understanding is that the hospital has already filed with the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation ... since it happened "on the job".

I still need to get all the details so that I have a complete picture of what happened (and what was, or wasn't, done)

66°F and .60. Inches rain.

Looks like an inside morning. I’ll be in the CU trying to be productive.

Zoom Happy Hour this afternoon.

Your fall pics are having me a bit nostalgic for New England autumn. Then Zi remember what soon follows

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
