Good morning!!!!

Good afternoon, weather is great at the moment, was nice to be able to paint a couple of doors this morning without the threat of rain.

Managed yesterday to say goodbye to last year's muck heap, with me loading and a friend spreading. The stuff was well rotted, yet still very wet and dense, not surprising that I got through 3/4 of a tank of diesel before the 100 ton+ pile finally disappeared.

Bird, glad your carpel tunnel op carried out last century (doesn't that sound such a long time ago !) has continued to be effective.
BEF, pleased to hear it went well for your wife.
Alien, wishing you much better luck next time - look forward to when you can say your op went literally (y) . :)

RS, RNG, when given a choice I much prefer hydraulic oil. Nothing to do with lubricating properties, it's just the lingering smell of gear oil if spilt on clothes is guaranteed to get me in trouble

Good Morning!!!! 61F @ 7:00AM. Abundant sunshine. High around 90F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
Been a while since the day started in the low 60s for temperature, and it sure feels nice.

Smells like another time to be thankful for a tractor cab, Eric. I'd much rather have a whiff or two of gear oil than what you were tackling in that photo.

Maybe Ron could send you a box of squirrels to help reestablish the population, Ken. Start buying now, and you'll have enough Champaign for that big NYE celebration...

What a lovely noise that must have made, Paul! There's a B17 offering rides at the airport this weekend, but having seen it before and with CV19 peaking here, I'll give it a pass this year.

Used to share an office with a guy that had young kids, Paul. His kids got every bug that came along, so he was sick often, but refused to stay home. I got sick every time he did, and used up almost a month of sick leave. Up to that point, I'd worked something like 17 years straight without taking a sick day. Boss asked me what was going on, and soon they moved my room mate to his own office. I don't see how resuming in person classes is a good idea in this time of soaring CV19 infections, especially when kids younger than 12 aren't yet eligible for the vaccine. But common sense isn't so common these days, is it?

Speaking of CV19, I was one of the few people wearing a mask yesterday in town. There are currently 70 people in the local hospital with CV19, 10 in ICU, and 80% of them are not vaccinated. Last year at this time, there were only 10 cases hospitalized.

Nice game of phone tag with the sand lady yesterday, but the end result is a truck should show up here at 8AM. That'll hopefully let me get the trench filled before it starts raining tomorrow night.

TGIF gang!🍻

73F and sunny @ 10:20, heading up to a high of 85F for the day.

Got the debris from the weed eating around the peonies raked and carted up to the compost pile yesterday first thing.

Then used FS 66 to mow down weeds around day lilies, hosta, and hydrangeas at corner of garage and raked that up and took it up to the compost pile.

After that cleaned up the remains of the branches from the dead ash tree top that had fallen over in the west planting bed and took those up and added them to the burn pile.

When I came back down I raked up the leaves and dead grass from that area and hauled it up to the compost pile.

By then the dew had burned off the grass and I could start mowing. Did the lower front and got it all done.

Then ran down to the corner for gas, refueled Cub when I got back, and started mowing down here around the house. Got west side and back all done ... still about 1/4 left to do on the east side.

Also got maybe 20% of the compost I had set out to dry up run through the screener. Hauled two bucketloads of screened compost down to the planting bed in the second circle.

Today's agenda will include:

Refill feeders.

Finish up the mowing down here around the house once it dries up.

Mow upper front.

Spray along driveway, fence line, and front of pole barn.

Finish up screening the remainder of the compost I had set out.

Ten Day has morphed into a less favorable outlook for getting work done outside, with this coming Mon, Tue, and Wed showing a 50% (or greater) chance of rain. High temps also down into the 60's and 70's.

Starting to see hints of color in a lot trees with increasing numbers of leaves starting to fall.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

Here it's grease (lubricating grease from a grease gun) - if I get that on clothes (or anything for that matter) it's a BIG problem.

That muck does look well-rotted.

Not sure what my former neighbor that had the sheep was doing wrong, but he was never able to get his to break down like that.

Having hauled and spread probably better than 100,000 lbs of it, I can tell say that it was pretty nasty.

Good Morning
It’s 67 with a forecast high of 90 here in Wichita.

Yesterday was spent at a leisurely pace. Went to laundromat, then went to see the B29 Doc. However there was a sign on the door saying that they were closed, Doc was going out on tour. Looking through the widow we could see the hangar door was open and Doc was on the ramp getting ready to fire up. We ran around the hangar and had a decent view of startup, taxi out and takeoff.

Probably a better experience than if they were open.

First Sim today.
What a beautiful aircraft!!

64°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 86° today. Looks like we might get some rain Sunday and into next week, then high temps in the 70s after that. I'm OK with that.

The boy came in last night and regaled me with a story about wrecking his truck yesterday. Again. He'd just replaced a bunch of front end parts and left fender from hitting a utility pole in the parking lot where he worked a few weeks ago. Yesterday, he rear-ended a line of cars that slowed too fast in front of him on US-50. He admitted he was following too close, and probably going too fast. Bent his bumper around against the front tire, so he had to have it towed to a shop in town. Fortunately, no one was hurt.

We had a white rabbit show up out at our barn earlier this week, Ken. 'Yotes haven't gotten him yet. Wife saw it this morning. We're guessing it's an escapee from a family just north of us who has all manner of animals. Going to try to catch it in a live trap this weekend.

69°F and .13 inches rain

Guys lost at H&F. Series even at 12-12, the girls are ecstatic. Dinner was a Costco rotisserie chicken. Always impressed how 10 minutes in the air fryer freshens them up.

Back to the caretaker tile, noticed a few areas needing attention. Not nearly as exciting as many of the other projects you guys got going.
I do enjoy the pics and commentary.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

PJ, you are a rock and definitely have the patience of Job.
Hopefully two wrecks means he got it out of his system. Perhaps that defines wishful thinking.
Remember Mickey Mantle only hit one out of three.
Can always hope that at next at bats in life's big ball game he gets a good hit.

Eric, great tractor pic, mucking it up
good pic for a pressure washer commercial...
That blue is very sharp looking.

Which reminds me, I miss Rick and his blue tractors. Sending best wishes his way.

David, come out for a breath of fresh air, get your face out of the grout

Paul, have fun with the simulators.
