Good Morning
It’s 68 and going to 90 here in Wichita

Off to another day of class room and then the procedure trainers again, they’re just a bank of touch screens arranged like the cockpit with all the switches and and instruments that actually indicate and function, but no flight controls.

Real full motion flight sim in actual cockpit starts Thursday.

Popgadget, try not to crash too much...

Don, guess the rain didn't come far enough past Houston, sure soaked everything there.
Happy anniversary Ken. (y)

had to flick that preying mantis off the humming bird feeder yesterday, it was scaring away the birds,
Thankfully the one hummer I have left was smart enough to go use the other feeder.

The weatherman on the TV last night was crowing about good air quality in Butte County, but the sunset told a different story. AQI is 158 outside this morning.

Glad you found the nests, Ken. It's about time for me to mix another batch of cat food with a few drops of Fipronil 9.1% and hang it outside for them. They carry it back to the nest and it poisons the whole colony.

Great crane shot, Ron.

Looks like you had the right man for the job, Doug!

The rock pile is building faster than the trenches are filling, but progress is still being made. Filled in a section of the top trench so I can get to the big dirt pile at the top of the hill in hopes it'll have more dirt than rock, but it's a long trip up there to get it. No time like the present to start going after it, though. Lots of weight on the front axle and wheel bearings; I hope they can take the strain without breaking like they did on the old tractor. Guess I'll find out. At this rate it looks like maybe three more days of screening and filling to git'er done.

67-89 today, pretty humid out. Cleaned up the motor home and parked it in its spot. I put the right side jacks down and when I went to the left side, nothing not a sound. After some tracing and cussing I discovered the relay on the hydraulic pump motor had died. So I crossed the terminals with a screwdriver while my father in law put the jacks down. Looks just like an old Ford starter relay so I’m going to try one vs paying triple from the RV shop. I still haven’t quite decided if I’m RV material.
I made a pone of southern style cornbread last night, man it sure is good after years of eating the wet, sweet pasty crap they make around here. I crumbled up a chunk into a bowl of buttermilk for breakfast this morning. Lip smacking good.
I got all my weeds sprayed before the heat set in, not sure what else will get done today.

72°F and dark this morning, going up to 90° again today. Expecting some rain late this afternoon and overnight. We could use a little rain here.

Spent much of the evening last night in the studio editing a drum MIDI file I found online for a complicated song ... 72 time signature changes over the 3min 43sec of the song. Circumstances by Rush has always been one of my favorite songs to play on bass. Loving the challenge of recording a cover of it. Whoever wrote that file (or played it) got it pretty close to the original recording, which was no easy feat.

I went ahead and read the whole shebang, Mostly_. Took awhile.

Happy Anniversary, Ken.

Good morning, raining up here in Thunder Bay, ON.

i am 'cooling my jets' in a motel room while the truck is in the shop getting the king pins done.

The season is winding down...I've got about 8 more loads to go, all of them a lot closer to home.

Have a safe day all

tomatoes keep coming and coming
thinned the radishes a little this morning after this pic

dug two deep holes to plant large end of season daisies, thankfully soil was still damp

now for the fun job of taking everything out of two full trash cans and put them in two new ones with
new company. Old company simply cancelled this entire area and they won't pick up cans that are full even though I paid for
that trash...not expecting a refund check any time soon, thankfully we pay only by the quarter.
And the new company actually recycles, yeah.
bet this is going to smell nice o_O

Good afternoon. Said goodbye to the last of the lambs today. Many of the ewes were getting too old for tupping this year, they have also been going to market over the last few weeks. Replacements expected by next week in time for the teaser tups, in the meantime thanks to the warm wet weather and few teeth to keep it in check the grass in the fields has been growing like crazy.

Nice to hear from you again L4N, how long before they have your truck back on the road ?

Drew, if you like downward facing saw blades have you looked at track saws (or do you call them plunge saws) ? They produce a super finish and are a great alternative to a table saw for working with flat pieces of timber. I bought a Makita one a few years ago. At the time it seemed a lot of money, however it was worth it as the precision of cuts puts it into a whole different league from when I used my old circular saw with a timber batten guide.
