55 headed to 83. Nice.

Don, glad you're making progress on Whipper. Good to read Buppies' experience.

Kyle, sounds like you've almost got the Gator Going.

Hiked up Mt. Pleasant and Pompey Mtn. yesterday. Beautiful forest and great views.

Good Morning!!!! 66F @ 7:15AM. Sunny. High 92F. Winds light and variable.

Sounds like you found a smoking gun, Kyle. Hope that clogged tube is it. But isn't there a metal tab that pushes on the float needle, that can be bent up and down to set the float level?

Ron, if those flowers aren't native, does that make them invasive?

I smelled gas when I pulled the cover off the bike yesterday morning, then noticed a drop of something fall off of it onto the ground. It was gasoline. Got out a flashlight, and eventually saw that it was dripping from the fuel tank somewhere up under the central tunnel over the main frame tube. Not fast, maybe four drops per minute, but not something easily fixed in a motel parking lot or campground. At breakfast, a delicious breakfast burrito with bacon, eggs, potatoes, and cheese, I looked at my options and decided it was probably best to scratch the trip and just head home via the slab. What a shame, it was shaping up into another beautiful day. Other than going onto reserve fifty miles early, partly due to the brutal north wind coming up the valley, no real problems on the way home. Other than the sleeve joining the exhaust header crossovers slipped to one side, lending a louder growl to the exhaust note at the last gas stop. Drained the tank where it sat in the driveway before rolling the bike into the garage, then unpacked. Not my favorite way to spend the day.

Apple was so quick in returning the repaired laptop that it was delivered on Thursday, and was sitting in the parcel locker at the end of the driveway when I got home. I saw the delivery notice, and got a neighbor to check on it for me, and he was able to confirm that at least the FedEx driver properly locked the box. But it was nice yesterday to see that for myself, and even nicer to see that Apple had made the repairs at no cost to me, including expedited shipping both ways. Not bad for a two year old laptop otherwise out of factory warranty. But then again, they're the ones that put defective batteries in the thing to begin with.

Think I'll let the motorcycle sit in the penalty box today and focus again on filling trench.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend...

71F and sunny, headed up to a high of 79F, DP 59.

Promises to be a beautiful late summer day ... (y)

Bird food consumption has dropped way off at the feeders, suspect that they are just tired of what I have been offering and are enjoying the current abundance of what Nature has to offer at this time.

Will see if I can empty out sprayer to get that 200' section on the east side of the driveway done first thing will there is little wind.

Then get on mowing lower front.

After that remove sprayer and quick hitch and put on the PHD with 2' auger and get to drilling those holes for the forsythia and some trees that need transplanted.

Then see what comes up.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day.

67°F and .25 inches rain.

20 years today, the day all our life’s changed forever. Prayers for all the victims, may they find peace, freedom, and comfort. Prayers for all the perpetrators, may their souls endure eternal damnation and rot in hell.

Caretaker work continues.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Everyone still living remembers 12/7/1941, 11/22/1963 and 9/11/2001.

Three significant events, linked by their common horror,
Yet,
One could argue PH nudged the world into a better place.
Other than grief and outrage, Dallas had resulted in minimal worldly effect.
WTC is but a small part or an ever present evilness that continues to rob the the world of potential while widespread measures hamper our daily existence and freedom.

Don my parents last poodle had Addison's a standard she lived for 13 years and weighted 72 pounds. It was discovered at a very young age
Did they give the poodle shots or pills for treatment?
Whipper is 10-19% poodle and 10% Great Dane which are two breeds that are subceptable to Addison's disease. Whipper is 50 pounds and has a poodle nose.

71F and partly cloudy @ 20:00, heading down to a low of 68F overnight.

Got that area next to driveway sprayed first thing.

Then started mowing lower front, and got that all completed.

While I was doing that neighbor came down and started moving dirt.

Once I got the lower front completed I put the bucket and box blade back on the Kubota and joined him.

We got quite a bit done, with most of what remains is up against the woods, aside from a little grading/leveling that needs completed:

Just for scale/relative size:

It was a lot of dirt:

And there is still even more that's out of the frame that you can't see.

Neighbor quit around 17:30 and I knocked off around 18:15.

Warmed up the leftover Mexican from Pancho's and ended up eating all of it ... :p

Then watered The Woman's flowers out front.

Unfortunately, PHD and auger did not get mounted nor did any holes get drilled. Probably do that tomorrow.

Nevertheless, a decent day production-wise.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

Good morning! 58˚F here in the valley it is feeling like Fall. Clear skies it will head to the 90s this afternoon.
Ron we hope the test are positive because Addisons is treatable, as Buppies pointed out, some of the other diseases and cancers that she has symptoms of are not. The opposite of Addisons is Cushing's or if over treating Addisons it becomes Cushing's.
Hoping for the best for her. Hope she likes her grass. Hope she doesn't get too lonely.
Sounds like you found a smoking gun, Kyle. Hope that clogged tube is it. But isn't there a metal tab that pushes on the float needle, that can be bent up and down to set the float level?
No metal, the float is a molded plastic piece. Non adjustable.

I didn't have to go to work after all today, but I worked on the commuter car. Changed oil/filter and both pcv valves. Helped the son work on his bicycle. He needs more hands on mechanic work.

Had to put 1 (of 4 left) chicken down today. She had gotten plugged up and wifey says it could be bacterial or fungal, but not much hope for her. We got her from a friend a few years ago when we lost a lot of our flock. My autistic daughter was pretty upset, but better now.

Prayers for our team, and our country, and the families of those lost 20 years ago.
