Good morning!!!!

76°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 97° today. Looks like we'll be near 100° at least through Thursday.

Ran to the store yesterday evening to pick up a short list of things compiled by The Wife. I was surprised to see the shelves so picked over, with lots of empty space. Did I miss something? Asteroid maybe?

On the way to town, a lady pulled out in front of me off of a side road. Never stopped for the stop sign, never looked anywhere except where she was heading. Had to slam on my brakes to avoid hitting her at 40 mph. Fortunately, that stretch of road is in the adjacent county and hadn't been recently oiled and chipped like ours has, so I stopped quickly. My blaring horn and flashing bright lights seemed to be ignored as well. She just carried on like nothing was wrong. I followed her into Highland where I watched her blow right through the first four way stop intersection (by a school, no less) like it wasn't even there. I complain a lot on Facebook (and probably here, too) about the way people ignore stop lights in north St. Louis city, but the problem isn't exclusive to heavily populated areas. Some people just seem to believe the rules don't apply to them. Hope she doesn't injure or kill someone while being above such mundane things as traffic laws.

Happy Anniversary, Paul.

That's a nice-looking RV, Drew. You could see Rushmore from a tractor, it'll just take longer to get there.

Good morning! It’s a beautiful day in Texas!

Nice and fair over Central and East Texas about 82 degrees at 9:27am.

Went to bed early last night. Worn out from heat and humidity working outside but got a lot done. Got up this morning 4:47am. Fed cats and dog. Washed clothes from yesterday.

Couple appointments this morning then move mower to do some yard work.

Hope everyone has a Great Day!

72F and partly cloudy @ 10:00, heading up to a high of 87F and thunderstorms likely throughout the day.

In fact, one rolled through a while ago, which is what woke us up. We got dumped on pretty good - standing water out on the driveway in places. Timberlink reporting 0.35" of precipitation.

This rain should have served to wet the previously "too dry to compact properly" soil (no car washing required) ... but now the race is on to get the inflow side of the creek crossing 'creted up before a big rain comes and washes out all my previous work.

The pipes have to handle all the runoff from the upper and lower front yards, the runoff from the woods above and all around the pole barn, and the everything the roof on the barn catches.

I am hoping the three 12" pipes will be sufficient.

Beyond the masonry construction tasks at the creek crossing, a trip to Menards might be on the menu - particularly if it turns out that I need more concrete. I only have five bags, so I'm guessing I might.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

understood!
My L5740 was a really fine tractor, only marred by poor oem seat.
Newer models have much better seats.
I am having local JD dealer quote a package, and same from Kubota dealer. I spec'd 40 pto hp which should handle a six foot
flail just fine. Looking for out the door price including grapple plumbing.
Big long list of extras that sure add up.
Kubota dealer may have better deal due to O percent financing and tie in with Land Pride for implement financing.

last young salesman I had at local Kubota dealer knew less about the Ariens snowblower I was buying from them than I did.
Can be hard to find salespeople with years of ag equipment knowledge. My last guy was one step up from TSC...
A lady still works there when I had my Kubota, nice lady, going to call Jen and ask her who knows the most about tractors.

Good morning
It’s 70 with a dew point to match. A steamy high of 90 is forecast with chance of pop up thunderstorms.
Not a nice day for outside work.

We’re going to breakfast after she gets back up from barn, no clue what the rest of the day will bring. Probably some shop time, as it’s air conditioned, a few chores around the house and whatever else pops up.

That’s quite the motor home Drew, looks like it could be a full time residence, but would make gardening pretty tough. You could buy a nice Kubota for half of that though. But the tractor wouldn’t be a great way to travel.

Not sure of the environmental stance of the hockey parents, but they weren’t at their neighbor’s birthday party over the weekend. There were a lot of private jets on the ramp at Martha’s Vineyard on Sunday. I can’t even begin to guess what the dollar cost of that camp experience will be, let alone the carbon footprint. We burned around 750 gallons of kerosene so far.

That would fuel my lantern for a hundred years.
