76°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 97° today. Looks like we'll be near 100° at least through Thursday.
Ran to the store yesterday evening to pick up a short list of things compiled by The Wife. I was surprised to see the shelves so picked over, with lots of empty space. Did I miss something? Asteroid maybe?
On the way to town, a lady pulled out in front of me off of a side road. Never stopped for the stop sign, never looked anywhere except where she was heading. Had to slam on my brakes to avoid hitting her at 40 mph. Fortunately, that stretch of road is in the adjacent county and hadn't been recently oiled and chipped like ours has, so I stopped quickly. My blaring horn and flashing bright lights seemed to be ignored as well. She just carried on like nothing was wrong. I followed her into Highland where I watched her blow right through the first four way stop intersection (by a school, no less) like it wasn't even there. I complain a lot on Facebook (and probably here, too) about the way people ignore stop lights in north St. Louis city, but the problem isn't exclusive to heavily populated areas. Some people just seem to believe the rules don't apply to them. Hope she doesn't injure or kill someone while being above such mundane things as traffic laws.
Happy Anniversary, Paul.
That's a nice-looking RV, Drew. You could see Rushmore from a tractor, it'll just take longer to get there.
