David, thank you, my family was delighted and promptly someone
chimed in now this doesn't mean you can go back to farming...

No, I can't but that doesn't mean I can't mow friends fields in a comfortable cab tractor
with a big flail mower on the back.
Real estate is so ridiculously expensive right now I've given up on buying so maybe I'll get
a tractor instead. Where I had my big garden on a friend's farm for several years is where I'd keep it.
He already told me I could have field duties and get paid.
Let's just say an appropriate sized tractor to run an 84 inch flail with cab and FEL is the price of my new truck.
I just priced a couple using Kubota's online build software.

Back to CraigsList I go, pretty sure used is the way to go here if I can find a clean used tractor that
someone went from an L cab to an M using Kubota language. I'd like the used L.
No LS dealer nearby. One tiny Kioti dealer. Two good Kubota dealers. One good JD dealer.
Not a lot of choices other than the high priced spread. Now I want my L5740 Grand Cab back...older version
of what Popgadget owns now. I really liked that tractor, only wish I knew sooner those R4 tires rode so poorly, should have swapped
out for hybrids because it was a hard riding tractor with tires pumped up for safe FEL work.

Now that I believe I have my health back, perhaps incorrectly...I have some choices to make.
Decided until I met someone who wanted to go rv'ing with me, didn't want to do that alone any more.
But I sure can have fun with a tractor all by myself.

And if some wealthy woman wants to give me a new diesel pusher, well you plan for the worst and hope for the best.
I think parking an rv at Ron's house would be fun. Something big...
How big can I go Ron? 60, 70 feet?
Got 100 amps? You'll need to install a second 50 amp box.
be careful what you ask for...:)

today was a good day. Still hurt just as much but knowing I don't have to face a major operation, perhaps not at least this year, sure
frees up my social calendar and I can start planning trips. And next year's garden.

I love wooden bridges Buckeye. Had one a mile from our home, not too far from Ken's home now also.
Used to park in center of bridge when we were little kids and turn off car motor. Make a wish and then off we went.
I'm happy to say plenty of my wishes came true.

Nice bridges, nothing like that here at all. I believe they made them for sheltering from rain etc in the horse and buggy days?

Roy, I have a problem with 10mm wrenches and sockets.

Buckeye, good concert.

Kyle, they do grow up to fast.

Mostly, yesterday was National Hot Fudge Day. No sure who made these National Days. But I participated yesterday.

Randy, when you are ready for a trip. Come up this way. I have a pad to park on with 50 amp and water. Woodward Dream Cruise is August 21.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

I’ve been to the Dream Cruise three times, last on was 2003. Loved it! I appreciate the offer.

Good Morning.
It’s 70 and going to top 90 today. Looks like no rain until tomorrow.

I really over did it over the weekend, I was exhausted when I went to bed, but slept like a rock.

Saturday morning I did a project out in the hot sun that probably didn’t help my hydration or energy level into the night.
I have a Lynx grill that is about 20 years old, but it’s extremely well built, all heavy gauge stainless, cast bronze burners, the cooking grates are 3/8” stainless rod. Basically it’s built like a tank, actually worth the seemingly ridiculous price. This one has the same piezo igniters as cheap grill would have today, the new versions use a hot surface igniter. I thought about trying to convert it to hot surface, as the Piezo don’t hold up as well as the rest of it, and I’m too cheap to buy a new one just for the igniters. So after perusing the web, and Amazon, I found a battery powered ignition unit that provides a good, hot spark to all three electrodes from a single AA battery that’s easily replaced from the front panel. It works great, how it holds up will be like a glass coffin. Remains to be seen……….

Today the plan is to empty the KubVan and move all the gear upstairs. Fortunately my shop has AC and the van is parked inside it. And the drummer is coming over to help with the heavy stuff. I rigged up a lift with an appliance dolly and a winch to get heavy stuff upstairs, but it’s much faster to carry stuff if it’s manageable.

That’s the same ignition u it my grill came with, love it. Screw the knob off change the AA and go about your business. My first cheapie battery that came with it lasted three years.

Have a battery igniter on my Webber, it did not last long.

72F and clear @ 22:00, high hit 86F today. Tomorrow is supposed to be a hot one with a high of close to 90F.

Finished up the little bit of mowing first thing.

Then more dirt work on west side of shop.

After that I moved a pallet (or what was left of it) of lumber from the south side of the pole barn. Also dug out the 65 gallon spray tank from over in the barn and brought it over to the house to clean it out. (Will be used as the water source to pressure wash the exterior of the shop before repainting it)

And then spent most of the rest of the day digging out dirt from the pile:

... and hauling it down to the south side of the barn and grading it out and compacting it.

May not look like it due to angle the picture was taken from, but the top of that pile is over 7' tall. Broke into and exposed 3 groundhog tunnels in it. Saw the groundhog exit on the other side and head for the woods ... (y)

Placed order for cat food and treats during lunch break.

Woman spent most of the afternoon cleaning the interior of her car. (I greased the door hinges for her)

Her hibiscus seem to be doing well:

Tomorrow is Trash Day and it's Recycle Week, so hauled that stuff up to the cans at the road.

This evening I did more raking and debris clean up in front of the other big rhododendron in the circle. Also raked out and spread the four bucketloads of screened compost that I had dumped there previously. Hauled bucket of debris to compost pile and dumped it, then brought another four bucketloads of screened compost down and dumped that there.

Ran a couple of bucketloads of compost through the screener.

Heading down in a moment to feed the fish and make sure water out back is shut off.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)
