Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #134,971
Was 78F and partly cloudy @ 22:00, HI 80 ... dew point 70F with 64% humidity. HI was 97F earlier.

Had a post all typed up earlier today and I somehow managed to wipe it out before I could hit the "Post Reply" button. At that point I said "Screw it, I ain't retyping that again ..." ... which I'm sure everyone is grateful for ...

Mostly an energy conservation day ... largely on account of how brutal it was out there.

Did get birdbath scrubbed out with bleach and refilled.

Also refilled hopper and another suet feeder.

Made a bank deposit and scheduled some bills for payment.

Replaced two light switches in the main bathroom - one was completely inoperable (light wouldn't even come on) and the other was intermittent, causing the light to flicker occasionally. Used a couple of old switches I had lying around, until I can get around to replacing all the switches in the house.

Took Cub up to the compost/wood lot and blew it off with the Stihl blower.

Grabbed split ring in the shop for Woman's hanging basket while I was up that way. Could not locate pins for the strings for the sweet potato vines.

Woman and I ran down to HF and picked up another set of garden hose quick couplers. Happy to report that they indeed do not leak ... (y)

She slid by Dunkin as I was in HF and picked me up an iced coffee (with butter pecan ... :p)

After that we swung by Pat's Creamery and she got her two scoops in a cup ("Death by Chocolate" and butter pecan) and then headed on down to Menards.

Picked up there and headed home.

After we got home I watered the garden and the oak trees in pots.

Strapping had come in for the Stihl from Amazon.

Drilled four half bars of Irish Spring and hung those on the blueberry plants and the tomato cages.

Woman made spaghetti sauce today, using our homegrown herbs. Sauce was real wet and runny ... but that's how I like it. Was good.

Stray cat was hanging around, expressing some interest in perhaps having frog legs for dinner ... while looking pretty skinny. So Woman put out some dry food, I just went down and brought that in.

Good thing too - coons were on the march from the woods headed this way.

Still have to take the trash up to the road, might run down and get the gas we forgot to get while we were out earlier while I'm at it.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

The mention of butter pecan flavored coffee by RS prompts this.

I normally prefer my coffee plain black. But sometimes I put a scoop of Blue Bell Butter Pecan ice cream in the cup then pour the coffee in over the ice cream.

That’s perfect!

I got most of the surface rust off but want to pick up some steel wool to finish it. But maybe that's old fashioned and there's something better? 320 grit?
320 grit with penetrating oil bath first would be better?
I'm a fan of red/maroon ScotchBrite pads and LPS3 for keeping iron and steel from rusting, and cleaning it up if it needs it. The ScotchBrite gets into all the little nooks and crannies, and the LPS3 forms a pretty solid film without being sticky. Fluid Film would be another good one to use...

In lockdown here for 3 days. Some stupid girl wandering around Darwin, flew to Brisbane, Took a bus to the coast and has delta variant. Premier is cranky. Another girl working at a hospital spreading it around and she was supposed to be Vaxxed but wasn't. Gov't are asking questions as to why she wasn't.
No covid near us thankfully but locked down anyway. We have stocks of food etc. Some absolutely brainless people out there that affect businesses and lifestyles of everyone because they are so bl**dy special.

76° right now...high in the upper 80's....
Boy, I hate hot weather (anything above 80°)

   / Good morning!!!! #134,978
76 here too Roy, going up to high nineties today with heat index of 107. Yuk.

I'm up early but happy to report that cortisone shot in shoulder really brought some relief, slept great last night.
It's all still very twingey but hoping it will heal faster now.

off to local hardware store when they open to get the plastic pots to repot those plants that keep wilting on me. Must be fully root bound
and very little real dirt in there. First nursery place wanted 70 bucks for a totally plain brown plastic pot. No thank you. Pretty sure True Value has something
much cheaper assuming there are any left. Plus I'm going to find out if they will deliver bags of mulch, was told they would, boy would that make life easier on me.
If Walmart is 4 bucks a bag and fancy nursery was 8 dollars a bag, will be interesting to see what hardware store charges. I'm thinking in the middle; I know the owner
and he is pretty smart about being price sensitive where he needs to be.

Just not a day to work outside at all. As soon as sun comes up I'm out to pick snowpeas, which are getting kind of tough from the heat, and then my trip downtown.

Alien, I read an article where some woman had a sign in their shop saying closed down because idiot Prime Minister only ordered enough vaccines for 4%
of population.
I'm sure your nightly news will be making quite a deal of this. Shutting down is so hard on business, but can't do business when you are on a respirator.
Sorry you are going through this and glad you are stocked up. I think we all have learned the new normal is stocking up.
Which reminds me I need to get more water today. For a buck more a 24 pack maybe I'll have the hardware van deliver that too...
of course I could just stop being so cheap and for a little while buy the smaller packages of bottled water but the price is just silly.

Wingprd, hope you wake with a smile and are feeling better today.

And special healing thoughts to Ted for his knee to start cooperating.

Poured first cup of coffee. 68° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 87° with thunderstorms. Did not get grass mowed yesterday. I never dried out enough. Worked on table and chair refinishing. Hope grass dries out enough today. Did pull a few weeds. But not enough. Today is going to be a repeat of yesterday. But much warmer.
Yesterday's sun rise.

Bird, nice pictures.

Drew, I get the 40 pack of water at Sam's Club. $2.98. Seems to get heavier every time I buy one. But they will not deliver it. Hope Dr's treat helped your arm.

Roy, I am with you. Keep temperatures below 80°.

Alien, good time to relax.

RNG, I need to restock my pile of scotch brite pads.

Mostly, flat tire not good. I keep getting my nap and conserve energy time mixed up.

Randy, mini chainsaw looks good. Waiting for review.

Rick, pasture looks good with fence removed.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.
