86 now but comfortable in the shade, wife and I had eye exams this afternoon, ordered new glasses, $$$$!
I still have to go to my retina specialist soon. I’m having what appears to be a minor issue.
Grilled turkey burgers and corn on the cob, had Mac salad also. I feel a little guilty about missing church, but the homemade blueberry and strawberry pancakes eased my conscience a little. We took a nice long ride before lunch.
Not much else today.
Thinking of Wngsprd and Buppies, Bird also and everyone in need of something.

Drew, the Tuckahoe Steam Show is coming up in a couple weeks. It’s a nice show with tractors, a few cars, and threshing, lumber mill, shingle making, rock crushing. Dunno if Randy goes but it’s quite the experience. Think it starts on the 8th.

Currently 80F outside and clear, HI 83.

Attic ventilator just shut off a bit ago.

When I checked about an hour or two ago - just before I went back out after dinner - it was 85F, felt like 94F, with a DP of 76, 75% humidity.

Got the pork delivery made and hung around for a little chat.

Refilled hopper feeder when I got back, three more house sparrows in the trap. Did not cover it tonight, low will only be 72F. Did take up some fresh water and cracked corn earlier.

Woman says hawk has taken to perching atop Nest Box No. 5. That's probably not good.

Did some clean up in that area in the second circle, brought more screened compost down:

Think that makes 5 bucket loads so far. Still more raking to do.

There are a number of small oak trees on the right side of the picture that I'll try and remove and transplant. The large oak on the right has been producing lots of mast every year. Number of other smaller trees in there that need removed also as well as a good amount of poison ivy. Also there are some honeysuckle bushes in the back that will get removed and planted elsewhere.

Even though that area was in the shade it was still pretty brutal working out there this afternoon.

Didn't take too long before I threw in the towel and headed inside to see what I had in the way of PVC and fittings for the sprinkler rig for the beds. Gathered that stuff up and then started working on the Menards order for what I was missing.

Also ordered new strapping on Amazon for the shoulder strap on the FS 66 which broke the other day. $6 for 10 yards ... which will probably be a lifetime supply. They even had it in orange ... which should help in spotting it when it gets set down somewhere. Supposed to be arriving by tomorrow.

Hauled water buffalo around back and got it filled.

Woman brought home Dominos for dinner.

She came outside for awhile afterwards and we got the garden watered and she worked on her plants out front.

We dumped the entire 55 gallon load from the buffalo on the hydrangeas, hostas, and daylilies out in front of the garage. Ground was cracked, that area took it all ... no run off. Dunno if it was because it was dry or because Alvin and Company.

After that I hauled a load of trash and recycles up to the road, picked up the invasive shrubs that were laying on the lawn that she had removed from the hosta the other day and hauled those over to the burn pile. Grabbed the two buckets of hosta on the way back down to the house so they could be watered.

Then loaded up the bucket on the Kubota with items for the compost pile and took those up. Ran a couple bucketloads of compost through the screener while I was up there.

It was still light when I came back down so I fired up the Cub and ran up and mowed the compost/wood lot as it was starting to get long.

Need to finish off Menards order and get it placed so we can pick it up tomorrow (good activity to get done while it's raining)

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

How is the caretaker unit coming along?

Thanks, worked very well. Easy off and in with Soph working the jack as I guided. Bought that hydraulic table when friend moved back to mainland and it had been a lifesaver.
Took a bit longer as I had to lower the wall mount.

Caretaker work basically on hold until I get mowing caught up and a few other things thisweek.

I bought a pair of jeans at TSC yesterday, didn’t check for TP in the changing room , as I never try them on. Always get same size as before.

Went in to get a 7 to 6 pin trailer adapter, seems I left my 2 at home, so now have a third.
I now have a “new” trailer also.
