Good morning!!!!

57°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 84°. Looks like we'll be staying in the 80s for the next week or so, and there's rain in the forecast for the next seven days starting tomorrow. Was hoping to get some kayaking in this weekend, but that may not happen.

Wife had her first group training session out in the pasture yesterday evening. Everything apparently went well, and the weather was perfect. Still trying to figure out the best option for bad weather days.

I threw together some delicious chicken fettuccine alfredo for dinner. Looking forward to the leftovers for lunch today.

I feel your pain on the downsizing thing, BEF. We go through the same thing once or twice a year, and we've recently been discussing it again.

I usually drink anywhere from a half gallon to a gallon of water every day, Drew. It's all I drink at work, and most of the time at home. I have always liked just plane old cold water.

Take it easy, Buppies, and don't rush it. Hope you're feeling better.

I never wanted a "smart" phone either, Bird. I used to say, "I just need something that makes and receives phone calls." When my last flip phone needed a new battery, my Wife (still fiance then) already had a smart phone, and talked me into getting one. Frankly, it was an easy task, as a new battery for the old phone was nearly as expensive as just buying a new phone. So, I bought an iPhone 4. Honestly, since that phone, I've grown rather attached to those infernal things ... more so than I'd like to be. They are entirely too handy. I still find it odd that we can carry such a powerful little computer in our pockets, and literally have the world at our fingertips. Technology can be an addictive master.

PJ, you're right, I don't drink enough water, drink a lot more coffee than water but also 2% organic milk, and diet/5 cal juice like cran-mango.
I've had hydration problems in the past and should know better. Need to put more bottles of water in fridge so every time I open it I can't miss them.
I think plain water would be good for the kidneys, something easy to process...and maybe give them a good flush.

Morning all, Suuny and down around 50 here this morning. Weird after 90's last week
Ordered a backpack sprayer , a chapin model, will see how that works out for the rm43 spraying.

The last time I was at the New Hope theater was Christmas right before covid for their scrooge show. They put on a rewritten show incorporating local bits into the play. Last time I saw my friend before he had his heart attack. Feels so long ago.

May work on the benches today, no forest work until my foot heals enough, though it is doing well so far.

Found another hornets nest under the pool bar, they are persistent!

Buppies , glad to hear you are feeling better, don;t push yourself too much, give yourself some time. It's frustrating, but will pay in the long run.

Stay safe and be well

Good Morning!!!! 68F @ 7:45AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 94F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
Apparently we're enjoying a bit of a cool spell; temps will climb well past the century mark for the weekend.

I've never been much of a people or family person, Randy, but I do miss the vigor and freedom from chronic pain I enjoyed in my youth. It is what it is, though, so I try to just make the best of it and keep a positive attitude.

I think we'll all eventually get to the point where the technology in our lives will become black magic, Bird. The real troubling aspect to that is being able to find people that understand it, and also have good people skills so we can stay in the game. Unfortunately, your experience at the phone store isn't typical, at least from what I've experienced.

I think time on the front end of the tractor is split pretty evenly between the bucket, forks, and grapple, John. But when I get done with a grapple job, I leave it on there because it can do some of what I'd use forks for, with lifting straps and chains. Probably more uses I haven't discovered for it yet as well. It excels at moving brush, the main reason I purchased one, saving me hours of back breaking work. That alone was good enough reason to get one, but then I don't have a 240 pound line backer of a son to help me instead.

Spent most of yesterday morning with a shovel in my hands, and by early afternoon I'd had enough. I was able to find the main electrical feed between the pump house and garage, though, and the rest of that trench can now be dug with the backhoe. Still have a couple of feet to do by hand for another signal conduit, but it's shallow and won't take very long. I priced out what it would take to run 12VAC up to the new tank, and while it was a nice thought, I don't have several thousand dollars for wire. I do want a pair of security cameras up there, and think I can make that work with an Ethernet extender, an order of magnitude less expensive option. And since that trench is half way to the mail box, I'll install some sort of box along the way so I can branch off later.

Still no call back from the trucker, so it's time to try someone else. Business must be good. The trenches are drying out, and that means material is starting to break out of the walls and fall into the bottom. Really need to get on the ball and get the tubing and conduit ordered, and get the sand for the first lift in the trench ordered. Hopefully I can spend most of this afternoon on the phone and git'er done.

Hump Day already!

Buppies,, hope you keep feeling stronger.

The least I do in my smart phone is make calls. It has replaced 90% of my computer needs.

Me too, it’s been months since I logged in to my desktop. Ellen uses it as a secondary to her work laptop.

68°F and .22 inches rain

Good mowing time with the Craftsman getting what we consider the lawn area around the house. Definitely got a bit of sun.

Off to Hilo town this morning. Sophie has 2nd post op follow up with her ophthalmologist. Hoping for continued good report a few errands including HD to get a handful of shear bolts for the flail. Expect to be back early enough to get a couple hours in.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

We keep talking about cutting down on stuff, but we keep adding covered storage.

Mostly, I don’t see the glass as half full/empty, I see it as refillable.

A beautiful 72° with bright sun and a NNW breeze. 75 today and 76 tomorrow before the three H’s return.

Buppies, glad you’re improving.

We all think our lives are on cruise control, then one day somebody taps the brakes!

had a good trip to plant nursery, came home and planted away, black eyed susans now up front and about to bloom.
Got some pachysandra planted in shady spots, anything more will be perennial not annual.
Nosy but nice neighbor across the street came over to check out what I got, and invited me over to see their garden by the backyard pond.
which I took a rain check on until everything was planted and watered.

was normally going to mow tomorrow but will do it today. Off to dermatologist tomorrow with a basal cell unhappiness on my ear, hope all he has to
do is freeze it. In case he has to cut anything, figured I'd better not plan on mowing the lawn tomorrow afternoon after that pleasantry.
So on a simply lovely mid 70's day I'm headed out to ride around on the mower and do in the clover. Doesn't look like any shortage of bees here.

If only we could have had Smart Cruise since we were little kids Toppop. Of course that's another name for parents.
