57F and partly cloudy @ 22:15, heading down to an overnight low of 51F. High hit 72.5 degrees today, beating the predicted high temp.

Fed cats, upstairs fish and put out one suet cake out back first thing, also about 10 mealworms - which were gone in short order. Cleaned birdbath and refilled it.

Then got the patio area around back blown off with the Stihl blower. Trimmed some wild grape vines that were starting to encroach on the patio.

After that I went to move the pallet of lawn amendments (lime and gypsum) over to the barn but I noticed after I got there that something had tried tear open the sacks on the other pallet already in the barn (probably coons) so I brought both back over to the house. Will jiggle some stuff around in the garage and stick them in there tomorrow.

After that I moved 3 pallets of retaining wall block and cap stones out of the barn to make some room inside.

Moved a pallet of 2x's over here to the house (in preparation to build more screening frames for the soil sifter)

Moved two pallets of metal parts that need sandblasted off the ground and onto the concrete so the area could be mowed and then sprayed at some later point.

Gathered up chemicals for spraying and took those around back.

Hopper feeder was getting low again so I mixed up a batch sunflower, safflower, and whole peanuts and refilled it. Dropping the cracked corn for now due to house sparrows.

Hooked up sprayer to the accessory outlet on the Cub and verified that pump at least runs (after fixing the spring in the accessory plug and cleaning up the ground contacts)

Noticed hummingbird at the feeder and that feeder was so low it looked empty, so I brought it inside, took it apart and washed it out, and mixed up a new batch. Looks like he's been hitting it pretty hard ... (y)

Located the half of the power lead for the sprayer that connects to the weatherproof twist-lock outlet on the Kubota. Plug needs o-ring replaced.

Swapped out the forks for the bucket and went up and grabbed a bucketload of screened compost and brought it down and dumped it in the low spot out in the lower front and then spread it with the 3' landscape rake. May go ahead and seed it tomorrow.

Cleaned tines on the core aerator. Will give it bath and lube tomorrow, before I put it away.

Moved water buffalo with the Cub from where it had been sitting in the yard around to the back. Then I mowed that area in preparation to fill in around the large tree roots that are sticking up out of the ground due to erosion.

Mowed small area around back near hose bib.

Put dump cart on and gathered up a load of oily/greasy cardboard and paper towels to take up to the shop to be burned in the double-barrel stove, then raked up grass clippings and some weeds I had pulled from the bed I planted the split day lilies in and put those in the cart.

Cleaned off the platform for the sparrow trap and loaded it in the card, then gathered up the rest of the stuff (piece of 3/4 conduit, large washer, piece of rebar and a hand sledge) and the trap itself and headed north.

Dropped the burnables at the shop, put up the sparrow trap near the other bluebird house they seem to have nested in, and dumped the grass and weeds over on the compost pile.

Used Kubota to move the sprayer over by hose bib so I could finish mowing the rest of it which I then did.

Ordered a pie from Dominos for dinner.

Fed downstairs fish after dinner.

By then it was dark out so I brought the Cub up from around back and put it away in the garage. Gave me a good chance to check the lights ... back was good but front light needed pointed down a little which I did after I got it in the garage. Need to recheck it tomorrow night.

Brought suet cakes from back inside.

All in all a pretty decent day.

On the E-Z-GO Marathon the manufacture's code, located under the passenger side glove box, the last two serial numbers are the year model.
  • On the rear passenger side frame – E-Z-GO RXV (2008 & up)
  • Inside the passenger side glove box – E-Z-GO TXT (1996 & up)
  • Inside the passenger side glove box – E-Z-GO Medalist (1994-1995)
  • Under the passenger side glove box – Marathon (1976-1993)
  • Under the driver side seat on the frame – Pre-Marathon (1965-1975)

Yes.

I think I previously reported that we had a 1988 (which was based on what a friend had told me)

Turns out it's actually a 1983:

good morning all. Warmer 51 going up to 72 today, cloudy day

RNG, not good outlook for California drought and fire, all your good prep work may come in handy.

Having some Kona coffee this morning, nice mild flavor.

I tried out my new Makita string trimmer, pretty wimpy, should have bought their larger model even if it was heavier
since handle grip on this model puts strain on my bad shoulder even with lighter weight. I need to fuss with the head on the unit and make
sure the line is coming out all the way. Might fiddle with that today since landscapers never showed up, but shoulder hurts enough that maybe not for another day.

nice white flowers popping out on the snowpeas, promise of things to come

Need to remove a tree that fell over during the winter. Neighbor is coming over to help. Some NASCAR in afternoon.

Good crop of Dandelions this year.

Nope. Kawagama Lake, near Dorset. Shall I order you one? ( LOL - have to wait for one to show up at the dump!)

I got one at the local dump about 25 years ago that looked nearly new. Guy said it started then shut down and never started again. I took it home, turned on the fuel shut off valve and mowed my yard. It was a cheapie Murray but I got 4-5 years out of it.

40 again this morning, it’s been like this for a week. Low 70’s next couple of days, then warming to low 90’s by next weekend.

Church then home to work on projects.
I might be late getting home, I’ve been called to the pastor’s office after service this morning. I hope I don’t have to stay over and scrub floors or something. I can’t remember throwing spitballs or anything.

45 and sunshine, going to 74.

Went to a funeral yesterday morning for one of the first friends we made after moving here.

Came home and started working on the kitchen exhaust hood fan. Moved the stove out of the way and started up the shop vac to clean it it up first when immediately a bunch of debris blew all over the kitchen. Took it outside and took the top apart...mouse nest with mama and 3 hairless pink babies...nest was made with the usual random stuff, but included a lot of blacksnake skin, which had been shed in the shed where the shop vac lives...found the rest of it. Blacksnake still in there, but will leave now that it has shed its skin.

Hard to get the motor out, had to take the fan off after loosening the set screw first, so it would come out of the frame in two pieces (can't take the frame off). Fiddled with the motor, took apart and cleaned it, and scrubbed the 6.75" aluminum fan, cleaning it with simple green. Reassembled but same results...slow ramp up, noise, then died. Searched the internet for 90 minutes and didn't find an exact replacement...hood is a 47+ year old copper one that's no longer made, and the fan has no markings on it. So Randy, I'll try to find an appliance parts store like you suggested. Have to go into town for my truck inspection tomorrow anyway.

BEF, my wife was cleaning out one her planters yesterday due to ants, too. Beautiful flowers.
