57F and partly cloudy @ 22:15, heading down to an overnight low of 51F. High hit 72.5 degrees today, beating the predicted high temp.
Fed cats, upstairs fish and put out one suet cake out back first thing, also about 10 mealworms - which were gone in short order. Cleaned birdbath and refilled it.
Then got the patio area around back blown off with the Stihl blower. Trimmed some wild grape vines that were starting to encroach on the patio.
After that I went to move the pallet of lawn amendments (lime and gypsum) over to the barn but I noticed after I got there that something had tried tear open the sacks on the other pallet already in the barn (probably coons) so I brought both back over to the house. Will jiggle some stuff around in the garage and stick them in there tomorrow.
After that I moved 3 pallets of retaining wall block and cap stones out of the barn to make some room inside.
Moved a pallet of 2x's over here to the house (in preparation to build more screening frames for the soil sifter)
Moved two pallets of metal parts that need sandblasted off the ground and onto the concrete so the area could be mowed and then sprayed at some later point.
Gathered up chemicals for spraying and took those around back.
Hopper feeder was getting low again so I mixed up a batch sunflower, safflower, and whole peanuts and refilled it. Dropping the cracked corn for now due to house sparrows.
Hooked up sprayer to the accessory outlet on the Cub and verified that pump at least runs (after fixing the spring in the accessory plug and cleaning up the ground contacts)
Noticed hummingbird at the feeder and that feeder was so low it looked empty, so I brought it inside, took it apart and washed it out, and mixed up a new batch. Looks like he's been hitting it pretty hard ...
Located the half of the power lead for the sprayer that connects to the weatherproof twist-lock outlet on the Kubota. Plug needs o-ring replaced.
Swapped out the forks for the bucket and went up and grabbed a bucketload of screened compost and brought it down and dumped it in the low spot out in the lower front and then spread it with the 3' landscape rake. May go ahead and seed it tomorrow.
Cleaned tines on the core aerator. Will give it bath and lube tomorrow, before I put it away.
Moved water buffalo with the Cub from where it had been sitting in the yard around to the back. Then I mowed that area in preparation to fill in around the large tree roots that are sticking up out of the ground due to erosion.
Mowed small area around back near hose bib.
Put dump cart on and gathered up a load of oily/greasy cardboard and paper towels to take up to the shop to be burned in the double-barrel stove, then raked up grass clippings and some weeds I had pulled from the bed I planted the split day lilies in and put those in the cart.
Cleaned off the platform for the sparrow trap and loaded it in the card, then gathered up the rest of the stuff (piece of 3/4 conduit, large washer, piece of rebar and a hand sledge) and the trap itself and headed north.
Dropped the burnables at the shop, put up the sparrow trap near the other bluebird house they seem to have nested in, and dumped the grass and weeds over on the compost pile.
Used Kubota to move the sprayer over by hose bib so I could finish mowing the rest of it which I then did.
Ordered a pie from Dominos for dinner.
Fed downstairs fish after dinner.
By then it was dark out so I brought the Cub up from around back and put it away in the garage. Gave me a good chance to check the lights ... back was good but front light needed pointed down a little which I did after I got it in the garage. Need to recheck it tomorrow night.
Brought suet cakes from back inside.
All in all a pretty decent day.
