good morning all.
much warmer day today, going up to near 80 in showers with more rain tonight.

Bird, I read some of the reviews from EGO owners of that zero turn in Texas, seems they have sold a bunch
of them there. Very positive reviews. Would be nice if they offered a discount on last two batteries with purchase of mower...

not a good night last night, shoulder really bothered me, had to take some pain pills again. Whole arm is turning black and blue; they must have bent
me around while I was knocked out and apparently I now bruise more easily. I think that started when I was put on baby aspirin every day. Whole arm is black and blue and yellow
down to elbow. Hopefully trip tomorrow to surgeon will give some post op answers to questions going forward.
I took a pic of the arm to send to family, they email me every day keeping up with me (which is nice...) but can't post it here, shows my underwear...
electrical inspectors come this morning, will be nice to get that ugly sign off my front door. And nice to have at least one window unit for today.

sad to hear of Bill and Melinda Gates getting divorced. They did so much good together, hope it continues.
well, you can sure tell by the Bezos's and the Gates, money doesn't buy happiness. Except for divorce attorneys.

63 and some ground fog just rolled through. I think the NWS forecast is wrong...says 91 today. We just had ice in the birdbath and frost about 10 days ago.

BEF, glad the tornado stayed away.

David, always amazes me how big your private utility is...looks like more switches and controls than a rocket ship. 👍

Randy, can't remember if you've tried Mission BBQ, but they have a Carolina vinegar sauce that's real good (don't tell BEF, but it's not nearly as good as in Eastern NC).

Rained off and on all day yesterday, but only 0.20...but kept me inside most of the day working on paperwork and cleaning out some files.

Outside chores done E muffin time.
Plans for today...town for critter food and some slow motion puttering.

Enjoy your day all.

Good Morning!!!! 70F @ 4:00AM. Abundant sunshine. High 92F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.
The Red Flag Warning is supposed to expire at 5 PM today, as the wind dies down and humidity returns to more normal levels. The 10-day doesn't show any relief to the above normal temps, though.

Did some wire tracing and found everything hooked up OK, but the circuit board contacts where the lamps for the dash display, for which I'd substituted green LEDs, were tarnished. Touched them up with a pencil eraser, and now they all work. Also found a new leak on the decoupler, where the position sensor mounts. Took it off, cleaned the threads, then used Loctite 5900 to fix the leak. It had started to harden inside the syringe type applicator, so had to dig it out with a tiny spatula. Fingers crossed it works as well as it has on the oil pan gasket, which was bone dry.

Years ago I made up a large plywood bin for wood scraps and put it on casters so it would roll easily under the work bench in the garage. Those casters had steel wheels and for some reason never rolled very easily. Once the bin filled up, it was like playing tug-of-war with the Devil to move the bin in and out. A while back I purchased new casters with plastic rollers, and they've been sitting on a table ever since. Yesterday was they day they finally got installed, and what a relief!

But when I moved the bin out from under the bench, it was clear that all the metal working for the steel pallets had made a real mess all over the garage. So I spent the rest of the afternoon with a broom and dust pan sweeping. All except around the horizontal bandsaw, which I'll be using today to cut rebar to length to mark the wooden survey stakes that were put in back in '19. Another job that's spent too much time in the queue, that I hope to get started on tomorrow once the RFW lifts. One of last year's wildfires was started from a spark by someone pounding in a steel stake, and I don't want to be that guy this year.

The other day I surprised a gray fox sniffing at the shipping container door. I hear it barking in the night, so it was unusual to see it in mid day. It barked at me before it ran off; probably wasn't happy to be caught out like that.

The deer were back under the solar panels yesterday, laying right on top of the deer repellent I'd spread the day before. Maybe I'm supposed to wet it down? I'll have to dig up the instructions, or maybe file for a refund.

Both lizards are now climbing up my leg to beg for a meal worm, even when I don't have any. That'll be interesting once I start wearing shorts again...

Good morning, low temp is 40 and high 46°F. Wind E 16 gusting to 26 mph. On and off rain all day.:(

Off to Burks Falls for a plastic repair kit. My plastic drum roller has developed a leak, it is cracked from the axle outwards about 2". I did order a steel drum roller 2 years ago and haven't heard anything about it, yet. So I have to hazard a guess that the people that I ordered through don't want my business.
If I wasn't so cheap I would get a self propelled steel drum sidewalk roller for asphalt.

Had my mother not died in 1988 she would have been 99 yesterday. Dads' 99th birthday would be coming up on June 4th, but alas he is dead too. No more worries, no more pain. The way I look at death and dead people I know is that if you remember them and speak of them occasionally then in your heart they are not dead.
So much for that morbid subject.

I got my laptop all updated and ready to rock 'n roll for the summer yesterday, that took all day. The battery was almost flat. Most of the time was for charging the battery, then let the updates download through the PC. That was a good rainy day job.

Ron, a sure sign that you need to put out more suet cakes is when the birds are lining up. ;)

DIL is still alive and kicking, but she IS going down hill, just not as quick as her Dr. said she would. She is using the wheelchair more in the house than she did before.

Have a safe day all

I end up having to reset the stop when I go from one side to the other. I'd be interested in making that mod on mine, Ron, if you could share a photo or two...

Here is a picture. Not sure it shows much.

RNG, sounds to me like you need to make a post pounder out of some 1" galvanized pipe or which ever size you have on hand. that would eliminate the sparks when a glancing blow is hit on the rebar with a hammer.

Of course not, it’s like brisket in TX.

I’d like to step back in time and get one from the old Tuck’s BBQ. While I’m there I might as well cruise the drive in circuit one last time. The town is there but the time is long past.
