Good morning, low 41, high 45°F, Wind E 11 mph. Periods of rain. None yet.

Everything I wanted to do before going back to work is done, except for the oil change on the tractor. Maybe do that today in the rain. It will be good to see if the extra gravel I put in the shed where the tractor lives brought the floor up enough that the water doesn't run in. That is the shed where I was going to put a new wood floor in, but with 2x8s going for twice as much as last year that aint gonna happen anytime soon. The tractor has lived on gravel since 2012 and it will continue to live on gravel.

Ron, what is todays bird? Looks like a Kingfisher, but I am no expert on birds.

.We went out to eat, the first time since last year, at a Mexican grill - Chipotle's - they did not have any onions or peppers, they really don't belong in Texas with no peppers and onions. I did find out I'm a much better Chef.

Good Morning
58 with a high of 74 and rain later today.

Yesterday’s trip to the Vineyard and NH went well, but I accomplished little else.

Today’s trip to Vero will consume most of the day. I should be able to make it to the Oddfellows meeting this evening. Last one was first in person in over a year, but out side the hall. As it will likely be raining, not sure what the plan is for tonight. The good news is that the rest of the week i don’t go anywhere.

Ron, I was telling my wife about your Sandhill Cranes yesterday...still amazes me.

Like Thomas says, I took my string trimmer for a long walk yesterday. A little more mulching today between rains. Also roasted some coffee and gave my grinder a cleaning like it's never had before.

Good morning all. Thick cloud has brought a frost free start to the day at last.

Randy, good to see you keeping busy outside again.

After 3 nights of baiting I thought it was time to sit out at dusk and see if I could put an end to the cheeky rat. I tucked myself into a dark corner on the patio with my air rifle resting on a table and sat as near to still as possible. I waited patiently - and so did the rat, the light was all but gone by the time it showed. It must have smelled a rat, though I don't know why as the bitter cold North wind was in my face, but it knew something wasn't right as it lingered over the bait for less than a second before taking off at speed. Damm !
Looks like I need to bait for a few more days and read a few more pages of Jim Corbet for inspiration.
