Good Morning
It’s 41 with a high of 62 this afternoon.
Rain is supposed to start before noon and continue through the night.

Yesterday I did get some shop time in, but it was a really nice day to be out side, so I picked up a lot of sticks and branches that broke of over the winter. The rain sensor for the Davis finally found its way to my mail box, so I installed that. I could have just replaced the reed switch in the old one, but the new design is supposed to be a big improvement. Today and tonight will be a good test of how it compares to the Tempest.

Won’t get anything done today, I’m off to Ft. Myers, and home via a stop in the Pittsburgh area, so it will kill the day by the time I drive home from the airport.

Low 56, high 59°F. Wind S 25 gusting to 34 mph. Rain.

Raining right now as I type. A nice tail wind going to North Bay but a head wind coming back loaded.

That is all that is planned for today.

Stay safe all

I'm keeping track this year of the rain, month by month.

Central NC

Jan. 24 of 31 days

Feb. 16 of 28 days

march, it just rained, 15 of 31

The volume doesn't matter, the land is so saturated that
1/ 2 inch has the same impact as 2 inches, instant flooding.

Good Morning to all. 25F - heading to 57F this afternoon. I think today may be the day to grade out the ruts in my driveway soft area. Just the right moisture content still in that area.

Yup. Same for our rental property. Big ruts every Spring. Have to take the rear blower off and put on the box blade. (Could have smoothed it out yesterday, but now it is raining.)

Meanwhile it is above freezing this morning and he’s going to stay that way all day. It is time to caulk the maple trees. Have over 100 litres (25 gallons), all frozen in various containers spread over 4 fridges/freezers! Now comes the tedious part. Boiling it down.

What is your fuel for heat during the boil down?

Good morning! 59˚F, cold front blew in an hour ago. Cloudy dropping a few more degrees before heading up and the 39˚F tonight.

I hope they are right as the potatoes will have no protection. 58 of 64 are up.

Off to the park today working by the main new building removing cedars by the parking lot oaks and finishing up by the playgrounds.

Mostly, saw the first lizard of the year yesterday, still no snake sightings after the big Texas freeze.

Drew I have given up all hope on the CDC releasing cruises before Nov. 1 after she used the word "doom". Makes you wonder what they know that we do not or are they just sensationalizing like the news media to get clicks. I hope Flordia's lawsuit prevails.

59 and nice outside. Going to 67 but rain. Yesterday was sooo nice.

Sorry to read about your ailments, Roy, Phil and Alien. Hope improvement comes quickly.

Off to dermatologist for a 7am appointment. I sure hope I am her first...otherwise she must get up as early as Roy. My first appointment in over a year since the last scheduled one was cancelled due to the C virus. I know she is gonna get busy on me with the freeze gun...hope nothing more.

Yep, Don, a bit sore today...and thankful for a rainy forecast, actually. Thanks Kyle, a pink maul would be a nice addition. But splitter has been behaving lately and starting reasonably quickly. Found my first crawfish "castle" of the year near the creek next to where I was cutting firewood.

March is nearly gone already?
I should probably go...I went 20 years ago, for a "comprehensive" look/see. I was alright, but the bill nearly killed me.

Good morning all. This is the second calm day in a row. Whoopee, it lets me catch up with routine tree work while staying on the right side of the law. We have quite tough regulations on tree felling, if I wanted to fell more than 5 cubic metres of timber in any quarter of the year I would have to apply for a felling license. That is easy enough to work with, however on top of that, an additional agricultural rule means I can't even cut off a small branch between April and September (with not an ounce of discretion), so the pressure is always on at this time of year.

Anyone else have to look at a calendar before starting up a chainsaw ?

"as a kid did you take a buttercup and hold it next to your chin to see the golden reflection?"
Drew, we did indeed take that test - to see if we "liked butter". Researchers have worked out why we got such Yellow chins
