45 and getting cloudy...was clear at sunrise. Should see 63 and maybe a shower tonight.

Buppies, hope those stitches did the job and you're healing.

Don, real cool that your weather station picked that twister up and plotted it.

BEF, yeah, hiked up from Rt 211/Sperryville. Happy big 97th to your dad!

Mostly, prayers for your wife.

RNG, my saw is a Stihl 261 C-M...has run great for 2 years. One trick I learned was to let it idle for about 10 seconds before cutting it off...someone said it let the chip memory reset to a lower expected speed when next starting it.

I'll probably start the annual bush hogging of the fields today.

The flail mower video that Roy posted inspired me to run up to the farm and dig out the bush hog. I was pretty pleased that everything started. Sorted out some downed branches and got the meadows mowed. I am always amazed what a 18 hp tractor and a 4 foot bush hog will do. Of course now I have seen a bunch of other stuff that could use some attention. It is supposed to be nice today but rain tomorrow. That will keep me from going too wild. I've got to ease into it.:)

I wasn't going to watch the new Medcram video about covid and children but it turned out to be interesting. It is amazing how our understanding of this disease is changing over time. I have the feeling that there is a lot more to learn.

Pace yourselves guys and gals

Chris

Small but mighty Chris, just have to have implements sized for it. Your Yanmar should run forever.

Thanks for the heads up, Bill. I went to a lot of trouble to find a non-computerized version of the 261. I should have looked for something even older, something with a priming bulb...:(

Good morning! 52˚F heading to the high 70s, clear skies. The rain in the line of thunderstorms last night, with the 60mph wind, lasted 33 minutes according to the Tempest weather station. The amount of rain we had with all that wind varied slightly between my two gauges:
Tempest .70"
Cocorahs .79"

Drew, has the cruise line notified you that all adults must be vaccinated? Royal Caribbean is requiring the vaccination for their first cruises in June.

You're a computer whiz...a computerized chainsaw should be a piece of cake for you. ;)

Sorry the shipping container prices weren't better, Bill. I wonder if it has anything to do with CV19 slowing down freight between here and China, making the containers less available?

I think a lot of it has to do with the supplier wanting to get rich quickly. I found that with free range meat, too. Same town and they want 2-3 dollars/pound more for the meat than I pay 3.5 hours southeast of me. The farmer I get the meat from is only 1 hour east of the yard. I order and pay for it online, set a date (usually a Saturday) and pick it up and carry on home. That leaves me home for the winter.

RNG, many years ago I had a similar beef with U-haul. I put my spare tire and rim on their trailer and then when I returned it I took my spare off and put their flat back on. They said I should have called them. Yeah, right, at 01:00 hours they would jump right on that. I don't think so. What they didn't realize at the time the ONLY 6 bolt rims were made by GM. I had a Chev with 6 bolt rims so they bolted right on.

Morning all;
Beautifull day out here today.
I got my second covid shot this morning through the VA.
An hour drive down, 25 minutes to get the shot and that includes the 15 minute wait after the shot.
Then an hour drive home.
Now for the fun part, my brother on the farm is applying for one of the paycheck protection program loans
thru the bank and the SBA a bunch of conflicting interpretations of the regs and the required forms,
4 hours of phone calls and forms yesterday hopefully this finishes it.
