Painting is actually FUN...it's the cleaning-sanding-scraping-masking-preparing that I hate.

How much do you charge?

For the painting, or the prep work? I would CHEERFULLY trade an hour's painting work for an hour's work for somebody to do my drywall mudding and taping and sanding...CHEERFULLY.

Nevermind, you are TOO Expensive!

I HATE mudding drywall (actually the sanding - BLECH!) way more than I hate painting...

Last job I did was the ceiling over my home office, I did a section 5 feet by 20 feet, mudded, taped, sanded, primed and painted....stood back to admire it and the thought came to mind "looks like a chimp with a broken pushbroom did that".... so I spent $300 for a suspended ceiling to do the remaining 3/4 of the job.

Mornin'! Second cup of Java mostly in me now, it's chilly- about 27. Supposed to warm up today & Sunday, then more rain and back to colder again....

Gettin' ready for T-day; guess we go to school only Monday & Tuesday this year. Kids were really wound up yesterday, and it'll only get worse for the next few weeks....

Now, to get after the MMM....

It is 27 here also.

I slept in until 5:30 becaue I forgot to turn on the alarm.

Yesterday afternoon was "teach the rooster's who's REALLY Alpha". My middle daughter is semi in charge of the fowl and the rooster's had been challenging her. She loves her critters and is the sweetest little darling so it really upset her that they were "attacking" her.

So I went outside with both big daughters and we chased the heck out of the roosters for about an hour. I managed to corner the biggest one and subdue him and establish my primacy, and then we established the girls as next, and the roosters seem to have stopped attacking her.

Problem is, after all that running around I'm still sore this morning :D

My shoulder did not like all that bouncing, and it seems I have a number of burised ribs (not broke) but frankly almost that sore...

I think the oldest daughter and I will go shopping for some Horse fence materials today. Maybe not buying today, just figuring out what/where we will buy. I'm looking forward to spending a little 1x1 time with her on this project.

Be well everybody!
David

Already have the second cup of coffee poured. 32 degrees this morning. Heading towards mid 50's. Decided that painting was not going to happen yesterday. Went out and trimmed some trees. Then chipped up the trimmings.
Need to clean inside of both cars today.
Good Morning All.

39 degrees here, face is windburnt badly, there was a stiff breeze blowing yesterday while I was ripping out another two dozen of those (censored) Autumn Olives. The ones I am removing now are maybe 5-6 feet tall, I put a cheap rope on the ground, pile a dozen of the things atop it, loop the rope around them, compress the pile with the loader and cinch the rope tight, then drag it back to my burn pile and use the FEL to shove it into the base. Only another 3 dozen to go...

good morning
29 dec. and frosty. A good Nov morning, the deer hunters are starting up the back road hopeing for that chance to fill their tag (since the hunting season has passed the 1/2 way mark the hunters left must be getting antsy). Already got my deer this year, cut wrapped and in the freezer. I guess it really does pay to have enough of your own land to allow you to be able to go out with a rifle and book, then sit and wait for that lucky one to happen by.

About deer hunting....I don't hunt but my back 5 acres of former cornfield are meadow with a lot of blue spruce trees 7 feet high, my two cop neighbors have set up two blinds and a tree stand back there, the two of them have already harvested four deer. The back 450 feet and the north 1000 feet of our property are bordered by farmland and they just harvested the corn from them last week so the deer are seeking food on my property. As far as I am concerned my neighbors can shoot every last deer if it was legal as I hate the critters.

Roy, this home made gadget is a great asset to gutter cleaning. I purchased a 12 amp Craftsman electric blower powerhead (no tubes) at a garage sale for $10, a 6 foot length of 2 inch PVC pipe fitted into a connector is bolted thru the exhaust port, the ""U" is about a foot across. The assembly is powerful enough to blow even a mass of wet leaves out of gutters, and strong enough I can hang the "U" and exhaust end from a gutter over the drop, to see if the downspout is clear, by feeling for airflow. I also have a clamp on convex mirror (not installed in the picture) that gives a good view of the gutter bottom when used on the "U" section. The square upper section is a PVC rail section and provides a secondary handhold.
