Good morning, little wind and lots of sunshine today, a good time to go and trim a few trees.

Bups, sorry to hear the doc found more.

PJ, a potential move to Texas sounds exciting. Have you been there many times before ?

Truly sustainable sources such as geothermal, nuclear and in some areas wave/tidal energy gets ignored , all they want to talk about is wind, sun rainbows and pink unicorns.

Randy, energy from unicorns ?? Do they put them on treadmills - or into bio digesters ?

45 outside this AM, heading to mid 50's. Yesterday was glorious, and I managed to get outside for maybe 10 minutes. Too bad for me.

Did the grill last night, yep, been a while. Chicken and fish. No one to share with, wife and daughter....car shopping.

Nothing new came home, so I expect more looking today.

Not sure what is on the agenda today, pricing out wood, contemplating delivery. Wife got estimates for run in, as expected 3 times more than price of todays lumber. Plus, delivery times are 4 to 6 weeks out. Looks like another build in my future.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe and stay healthy, my friends...prayers to you all.

good morning, the temperature is 4°F and the high will be 19. Wind NNW 11 gusting to 19 mph. 30% chance of flurries.
Sudbury is low 0 and high of 21. Wind NW 3 mph and a 40% chance of flurries.

Yesterdays ride was uneventful, caught up with the plow group going north about 10 miles north of SR. After I got past them it was clear sailing all the way. Instead of forcing my way through the group like a lot of drivers did when I plowed the highways (and I got charged for hitting them), I just rode along at 25 mph until they turned off.

DIL thought that yesterday was going to be extraction day. NOT! An x-ray and lots of yakking. She does have an appointment for next Tuesday, which happens to be shopping day, so we will kill two birds with one stone.

I got the neighbour to blow this place out yesterday so I could get that useless Dodge out of the driveway. When I got up at 7 there was no new snow on the ground. By the time we were supposed to leave there was 3". I will go out in about 30 minutes to clean up the neighbours that I do and that will be 'it' until the weekend.

After seeing what you guys use for hydro, I consider myself lucky, as much as I hate monopolies of which Hydro-one is.
Now there is some good grammar for you guys. Ending a sentence with a preposition (is).

Have a safe day all

I was an Air Traffic Controller in the army in Vietnam - 210th CAB. Our flight detachment had U21 /King Airs. Definitely a luxury ride compared to Hueys which I got to enjoy a couple times.

Yep, like sitting on the floor of a bus in a paint shaker.

They turn the wheel that magically produces electricity.

Good Morning
39 and only going to 44 today with clear skies. Yesterday was a glorious day, bright sunshine and got to 50.

Was working in the shop when the power went out, generator started and transferred just like it was supposed to. Power failure was about an hour, not sure what the issue was, but it was at least 5 miles around me. My generator is behind my shop, and the wire comes into the shop and then to the house via the conduit that powers the shop. I used to tap into the generator feed with a manual transfer switch to provide limited power to the shop. When I replaced the generator this spring, I added an automatic switch in the shop as well as the one in the house. So far the whole system works well.

Took advantage of the warm temps to clean up the ice that had formed on the lane from snow melt and refreezing. Went to Home Depot and got a batch of gutter hangers and fixed the gutters where they were pulling away from the soffit and letting water drip behind them. Nothing more annoying than water dripping on my bald head!

DIL and grandson came by to walk up and down the lane for exercise to fend off cabin fever, had a nice visit with them afterwards.

Spent some time torturing my hands with the new bass, I’m really enjoying it, but I’ve got to get my calluses back.

Still not vaccinated, but feel like I’m getting closer.

My lifelong reading of science fiction predicts we will have energy cells that don't require boiling water to make steam to make the magic turbine wheel spin.
No spinning. No rotational parts. Fraction of the maintenance. It will make all our electricity and it will power our space ships.
Some form of fusion. Another 30-50 years in our future.
We will all be driving electric cars by then, which will then convert over to mini fusion reactor propulsion.
Talk about Plaid mode...
Engage
The Jetsons will come of age...

meanwhile, back on the farm.

hopefully when they figure out how to make electricity better they don't use the new tech
to weaponize some new bomb and wreck everything before we get a chance to make use of it...
SciFi calls these bombs planet killers.

was always a concern with original atomic bombs, the big accelerator in
France, college labs, that the outcome would be far worse than expected or have
unintended side effects. Like black holes. Things we didn't understand well enough.

Can we be smart enough to use great power for just peaceful means?

Paul, have fun with bass. Because of curves in your driveway and slope pretty hard for water to not
run across it, particularly on that one curve. I slowed way down and had zero problems.
Glad your automatic gen worked great, very reassuring.
