Ken, back to drawing board on belt as it has thrown a couple more times. Think I heard something of a click noise this last time.
Need to troubleshoot: bad spindle, clutch, alignment ????

Of course belt now has a break in it, so ordered new. Usually I keep 1 or 2.

Open to suggestions.

Is there an idler pulley on it? If so then maybe the bearings in it are going or gone.

I can't back drag with my plow, Maybe someday I'll weld it to the back plate, too many other projects. So Snow blower will finish.
You do good work PopGadget!

Viking - that's quite a pile up!

Looks like Town plow pushed over our mailboxes :-(
Another project - always somethin....

I found that a large (40 oz) bottle or two of the plow drivers' favourite adult refreshment or a 24 or two of beer went a long way towards me keeping my mailbox where it was. I hate chasing mailboxes.
1 for Christmas and one for New Years.

I am supposed to be working limited hours, spent about half my afternoon on the phone with different people helping them troubleshoot problems. So you aren稚 the only one BEF.

Funny SXS story. Several years ago, was doing my summer clearing of the bank along the road. It is steep and it is always able to bring out the worst in my temperament. It was humid morning, gonna get hot and humid. I was trimming away when a SXS with a couple I would guess in their late 40s or so went by. Of course it had the obligatory coolers in the back.

Next thing I know, the SXS is back, they had turned around in my driveway. I stopped the trimmer, they said it looked like I needed a break. The guy reached into the cooler behind him, grabbed a beer and threw it to me. He got 2 more out, and the 3 of us drank the beers and talked. When the beer was gone, they said they had to go to a cook out, and off they went.

Neat story.

I was working summers for the county while in college. Was patching roads, when a guy comes out of a house and asked if we could patch a section to create a little ridge so water would run a certain way. So we did.
Afterwards he says, go down the road to the little store and get yourself some drinks, I’ll call and tell them it’s on me. So we did, turns out it was his store.
Always liked stoping at the little country stores. Most are now gone.

27ーF and clear skies this morning, going up to 37ー today ... which is where we are now.

Stopped at Menard's on the way home yesterday looking for a longer dowel rod for The Wife to use to roll up her quilting project wall, which is really just a large piece of flannel that she sticks her quilt blocks on for design layout. It would seem that no one sells dowel rod any longer than 36" or 48". Probably going to have to go a different route, like maybe thin-walled pvc pipe. I just don't want to buy 10' of it when I only need 64". It's becoming a quest now to find a solution.

Put about four miles on the stationary bike later in the evening.

I generally don't talk much about Fiats, Roy. I have a scar across my forehead, the left side of my nose partially caved in, a rebuilt chipped front tooth, and no curve in my neck anymore from slamming my face through the windshield of a '79 X-19. Tree 1, Fiat 0. (That tree ended up about 6" from the windshield, or what was left of it.) April 6, 1985 ... I remember that pain like it was yesterday. Excruciating. I don't recommend it.

Those are some seriously delicious looking pizzas, gents.

We haven't had any groundhog problems since we put a radio in the barn a couple years ago, wgnsprd. We keep it on a local AM talk radio station, KMOX. Apparently, they aggravate the groundhogs, too. :D

Or a closet rod, should be able to find 6 or 8 footers.

Would a piece of hand rail work?

Used to be able to buy wooden closet rod by the foot at HD and Lowes. Maybe they still sell it that way?

I got some 1 at Lowe痴 a few yrs ago, sold by the foot.

Paul, used to be able to get long dowels in section that had closet rods.

What about two dowels glued together in a piece of PVC?

I have a 10' piece of 1.5" dowel rod that I use in my closet. For my purpose, it isn't that good although it has been up for 26 years. It has a bit of a bow in it.

You might try the schedule 49 PVC. A little more money, but stronger.

Appreciate the suggestions, but pretty much all going the wrong direction. Reading back, looks like I didn't really explain what I'm looking for, or why. There is a piece of schedule 40 pvc on it now that she thinks is too heavy and exerting too much pull on the grommets holding it at the top. I'm looking for something lighter and in the 1/2" to 3/4" diameter range. It's really just to keep the bottom of the material straight and give it something to roll up around (she's sewn velcro strips at the top to hold it up above the closet doors when rolled up).

I'm thinking that PEX tubing might be the answer. It seems pretty lightweight, yet rigid enough to keep the bottom straight. Now, I just need to find someone to sell me a 64" section of it.

Yeah, I have a couple of spare wooden closet rods. She'd probably brain me with it if I took one of those in there.

PJ ... Have not put 4 miles on stationary trainer since move :)

Yeah, February here is just a tad different than there, as you know. We're looking at single digit lows this weekend and all next week. The Giant will stay in the garage for a little longer.

Well darn, our flurries turned into 2” and Ellen has to go into her office in the morning for a couple of hours. Guess I’ll get up and clean off her Edge in the morning. The roads might be a little slick because it’s down to freezing now. That makes a total of 7” from three rounds, thankfully all but this 2” melted already.
