Got only an hour of mowing before it was raining too hard again. Oh well. Enjoyed rest of afternoon playing cards with wife and a couple of eggnogs. Half a shot of Fireball whiskey in eggnog is really good.

Few high cirrus clouds in morning solid bank building in afternoon, breezy through mid afternoon, the wind backed off, and high temp was 63F. worked on Christmas gifts this morning, went for bike ride (25 miles) napped then sucked up leaves till dark. Turned on outside lights, then forgot to check if both photocells working.

Check out - The Home Depot or Red Gard to reseal your existing shower pan.

David,

Thanks, appreciate the input ...

Yeah, I saw Red Gard mentioned on the John Bridge / Tile Your World Ceramic Tile Forum ... I hadn't checked it out yet, but I just watched their three videos on Home Depot's website ... sounds like it will fill the bill for overall waterproofing of the backer board. Plus it looks pretty snazzy ...

It also seems pretty reasonably priced ... so I'll likely use it on the entire bathroom subfloor (after I handle any damage issues)

Good deal ... :D

As far as handling the shower pan/wall board junction, I'm still researching but am making some headway.

This the tile I'll be using for the bathroom floor and shower walls/ceiling:

Floor and Shower Tile 1.jpg

And this is the tile for the lower 3' or so of the bathroom walls will get (the white subway tile, not the inlays):

Bathroom Wall Tile.jpg

But capped with a black bullnose tile like in this photo:

Bathroom Wall Tile 2.jpg

Black grout on all of it.

Shower base will get refinished to a straight black.

Rest of the walls (upper) will probably get a bright, vivid, fully saturated color (of The Woman's choosing)

Would like to go with something along these lines for the sink ... but we'll see ...:

Kinda like that mirror too ... :D

Good morning folks

35 now high in the upper 40’s and partly sunny today.

Dump run this morning and some more puttering around.

RS - that sink is kinda cool, that would drive my wife crazy no place to pile all the “stuff” she has on the vanity

Enjoy your day everyone

Enjoy the day all.

Good morning, our short dry spell has come to an end. We were really lucky yesterday to be able to get on with spreading and make a cow muck mountain disappear without tractors sinking in too deep.

A good friend of mine is in his mid 50's, non smoker, not overweight and was a healthy, no-cares-in-the-world type until he caught Covid-19 in October. Within a few days of being tested he developed pneumonia and sank about as close to death as it gets. He is now out of hospital and was telling me on the phone yesterday how surreal it was to be laying in a hospital bed half conscious as the doctors discussed his case, the patient on his left having just died of Covid and it looking like he would be next. He ended up on a cocktail of experimental drugs and now from his voice I could not have guessed he had ever been ill, though he says he is constantly tired. His advice to me was to postpone the usual family Christmas, it is simply not worth the risk.

Take care everyone !

46 and cloudy going to 62 and mostly sunny.

RS, bathroom plans look good. We are wanting to do one of ours...can't decide on design.

Eric, glad your friend is recovering. I need to go mountain climbing again, but your muck mountain doe not sound tempting.

Been kinda lazy last couple of days...plan to get busy once it gets light.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 26° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 47° with sunny skies. Did not sleep good last night. Not sure why. Got tractor ready for winter yesterday. Forgot to bring bucket of ice melt up to house. So when that's done I will do a conserve energy day.
Michigan covid cases 369,801. Deaths 9,357. Oakland county cases 44,624. Deaths 1,344. Another 500,000 test were done in the last week state wide.

Eric, good news on friend.

RS, big project. Both bathrooms in my house are on concrete. It's surprising how water will seep into areas even when you think it is sealed properly. My master bath shower is done in artificial marble. No leaks that I know of yet.

:welcome: To the GM thread, Inane2 !

RNG, sorry you missed the Thanksgiving Day gettogether. Sure hope it's better next year.

Drew, your shop got me looking. Found a stand for my Dewalt planner on Amazon.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.
