37 right now...high in the mid-40's today...feels a lot warmer than yesterday with the cold clammy rain we had.
It was a nice, but not fancy, Thanksgiving...everybody was pretty much stuffed and buzzed (mimosas in the morning, screwdrivers in the afternoon), but not stupid buzzed. Just wife, stepdaughter and I...that was enough.
Apparently my neighbors (not the one who's wife recently died) from New York did not get the memo about limited family gatherings from Vermont's governor . Must have been 7-9 cars (many NY plates) in their drive. Well, I'm not going to rat them out...I suspect most Vermonters ignored the directive.

No plans today...

Good morning, the temperature is 36°F and going to 39. Wind WNW 8 mph. 30% Periods of drizzle.

Turkey day feast for me was an inch thick pork chop with potato salad. If I have turkey in November, then I wont want turkey for Christmas.

The freezing rain didn't happen. The only thing I hate about winter is freezing rain.

Smokie was ten two years ago when she died in my arms. My head knows she is dead, but in my heart she is alive and waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge.

Another town run is in the cards for today. The solar charger I set up to maintain the Jeep battery shorted out and toasted the wiring to the battery (or the other way around). I will rewire that today.

I may set up a direct power source (fused) on the Kioti for a horn. I just have to figure out where to mount the horn.

Have a safe day all

52 outside this AM, heading to 61.

Each of us has the same time Buppies....and I can relate to how fast it goes by. We have to remember to live in the moment. Enjoy the beach time!

The girls will all be home tomorrow, so today is prep day for our traditional TG dinner.

The wife and I went for a two hour walk yesterday on the property. During the last wind storm I thought I heard a big crash in the back woods. Yesterday we came across either a red or white oak fully down, root ball out of the ground. It will make for some nice firewood. Too bad I don't own a portable saw, close to 100 feet of nice straight board, easy. And lots of it.
It made a nice clearing on its way down. Lots of sheared off trees. Sad, but part of the woods life cycle.

We setup the game cam down by the creek. Lots of tracks by lots of animals. No critter in the barn, so I guess it moved along. Will go recover when it gets light out.

Hope all enjoy the day. Be safe. Stay healthy my friends.

First cup of coffee has been poured. 38° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 44° with cloudy skies. Spent way to much time on phone yesterday. But it was good to hear all those on the other end. Everyone I talked was doing a laid back Thanksgiving. My dinner was good. Will have the same today (leftovers). No plans for today. Well maybe I should get blade on tractor. Suppose to get 6" of snow Monday-Tuesday.

Eric, I did my time on your island in the 70's. Had some good times. Will do my part and social distant. Staying out on my peninsula.

Good to hear everyone's Thanksgiving dinner turned out good.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

50-65 today, got about .4” of rain yesterday morning. Temp hit 70 for a short time.
Lots of prep for tomorrow’ dinner, besides the food I have to put in the HEPA filters and get extra tables from the garage, etc...
Glad you all had a good Thanksgiving.
Prayers for all.

Good Morning, it’s 44 and clear skies going to upper fifties today.

Thanksgiving went well, the convection oven was a success. 18lb stuffed turkey was done in 2:40, golden brown exterior and moist inside. Mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, broccoli, stuffing cranberry pineapple orange relish and homemade bread.
Apple, cherry, coconut cream and pumpkin pies for desert.
A true feast, I know I went to bed in a food coma.

We got a half inch of rain, but it was over by 8 or 9am,, there was blue sky by noon, but the meal prep consumed the whole day.

Not much planned for today, looks like it’s going to be a nice day. Probably go to Harbor Freight for a tarp and some bungees to cover my Progressive TD65 finish mower for the winter, as I’m out of inside or covered storage. Hard to imagine but it looks like I need a 20 x30 tarp to do the job, even with the decks folded up.

Does this look like dinner for 2?

Actually the furry kids got good helpings of everything except the corn and pineapple. Then came back drooling for more.

That ham looks like it's got as much pineapple as I put on mine. But I didn't have any cherries to add to it.

Good morning all. Last night's fog has lifted, just in time for me to go off to a friends farm and load muck for the rest of the day. A 14 sided oil filter cup removal tool arrived yesterday. With that on and a breaker bar for leverage, the old can finally decided it was game over.

I will let you in on a little secret, but please do not tell anyone else, or I will be hauled away for treason.

In this country we have to eat slightly disgusting foodstuffs, give disturbing names to tasty deserts, retain ludicrous spelling, drive on the wrong side of the road, have extensive training to actually enjoy warm beer, and so many other things, all to dissuade too many descendants who left these shores from ever moving back. We would love to welcome everyone, but the truth is Americans have been so good at breeding that if there were to be as a mass exodus back here now, this little island would surely sink. :D

LOL, all in good fun. I would love to visit, but I'm used to a gov't that doesn't have so many rules, so I couldn't stay for good......besides, If we all moved back, there would be another tea party.

Another B'day on the horizon? Or just the calendar year?

Sodamo, your dinner looked great. I'm sure you have plenty of leftovers.

53 going to 62 and partly sunny.

Glad everyone had a great day...would be cool if I could stop by and pick up leftovers from all of you today.

Ron, good to hear the news on your son.

Thomas - Mr. Chopper-man!

Eric, your secret is safe with me.

We drove over to my oldest son's for Thanksgiving feast at lunch...just 5 of us including our daughter-in-law and her mom...sat on their deck in 72F sunny weather most of the afternoon and talked and then a short hike...I was too full for dessert, and we skipped dinner. Roundtrip of about 40 miles and saw very little traffic.

Had a skunk come around the house at 7pm and it scooted under my lumber under the shelter when it saw me sneaking up...so left it for another day. Found lots of digs when it got light this morning.
