Good Morning
It’s 37 heading to 60 with clear skies today.

Didn’t get much done yesterday, probably less today as I’ve got to go to south Florida. I worry about Covid exposure enough that I probably won’t get out of the plane in FL. I will definitely get the vaccine when it is available to me.

Drew, what parts are you waiting for?

I guess the next outside task is to clean the gutters now that the leaves are all down. The ground is too wet to do anything else, looks like the mowing season is officially over.

39 heading to just under 70 today. TGIF.

Will start the decking for real today and this weekend. No other plans. Will start thawing turkey today. No large family get together this year. Just the girls. Two of which are exposed daily to lots of people. And some family members still wanted to travel and get together. Sigh.

Hope all have a good day. Be safe. Stay healthy my friends.

Good morning, looks like being a wet one again. I saved a job for a day like this, replacing some ageing fluorescent lights in the workshop with LED fittings. Clearing enough space to erect the scaffold tower should keep me busy for a few hours.

Thanks for all the thoughts on golf cart transmissions. It sounds like with the right tires they could be plenty good enough for me, something like the Yamaha UMX AC is certainly much less expensive than what they ask for a 4wd UTV .

Kyle I get what you are saying about the limited life and cost of batteries. The problems I have had with our B&S V-Twin has put me off small petrol engines, which is probably unfair on other makes.
Maybe my old Subaru will decide to keep going a little longer now it knows it can be easily replaced.

Drew, I am with you in trusting the vaccines we are likely to get.

Not sure if those of you who are worried about a vaccine being 100% effective have been told how they work. If the vast majority of people are vaccinated, then the chance of the virus being passed on from person to person is massively reduced, so it dies away. This is what they call "Herd immunity". This is how smallpox was eradicated and how measles was kept from killing so many people

Herd immunity - Wikipedia

If someone decides not to get vaccinated, that doesn't just effect them personally, it has a negative impact on others too as there is then a much higher chance of them catching and spreading the virus to others. If enough people refuse to be vaccinated Corvid-19 will undoubtedly continue to wreak havoc.

When I am offered a jab I will certainly take it.

Coffee taste good today. 44ー with partly clear skies this morning. Heading to 63ー with lots of sun and wind. Sassy looks good after grooming. Did not do a leaf cleanup yesterday. We some brisk winds that blew many of them out into field. Grocery shopping this morning. Then may get after leaves. No other plans.
My right ear changed yesterday. I can hear with it. Still high ringing and pressure. Youngest son had a procedure done on his lower back on Wednesday. Have not heard how it went.
Yesterday evening sky.

Luther, Thanksgiving dinner a week ahead of time?

Wngsprd, good you got visit mom.

Buppies, Rick is probably working on house they sold.

Drew, have not decided on Vaccine. I am 78. What could go wrong. But then I have gotten all other Vaccine's over the years with little or side effects.

Eric, waiting on your first report about new golf cart.

Riptides, hope your back and knees are ok after decking project.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

I am one of the nay-sayers regarding flu vaccines. I will definitely get a flu shot if and WHEN the powers that be will GUARANTEE that I will not get the flu, whatever strain it doesn't matter. Flu shot=no flu then I am on it like white on rice.
The same goes for a covid poke.

That's your privilege and right and I can respect that. But to me, that's just like saying you aren't going to drive on public streets and roads until the powers that be will GUARANTEE that you will not be involved in an accident. There aren't too many guarantees in this old life, so I just try to play the odds. It's been many, many years since I had the flu so I get the shot early every year.

Bird good to hear nothing new, do you have O2 monitering device, if so what are details?

We just have one of the simple little pulse oximeters.

Prayers for Ron's son and our team.

40 and a sky full of stars. Looking for a beautiful 65 to continue the drying phase of our soaked landscape.

The first hard freeze and 20s of the prior two nights knocked all the leaves off the royal paulownia, so will mow/shred them and the remaining maple and oak leaves today and clean up the zero for winter.

Happy Early Thanksgiving, Luther. Yum.

Visited my mom yesterday. 89 and gets around so well and sharp as a tack. First time we've seen her since the C.virus invasion. Did some chores for her, and brought in some Brunswick stew from the best chicken joint in Virginia Beach for lunch. Always good seeing aircraft carriers in Norfolk driving across the bridge-tunnel, and fighter jets flying touch and go at Oceana at the beach.

Glad you got to spend time with Mom, and that she's still doing good.

I'm a military buff too. Just read a dated 2002 book by Dick Couch on Seal training.

They said in Texas, the health workers are first in line for vaccine.

Good morning! 63˚F cloudy heading to 79˚F.

Eric I saw the Yamaha UMX AC yesterday on-line and thought that's the one I would buy. My Yamaha AC Drive was really a good golf cart for the country. With the knobby tires, lift kit and brush guard I was driving in tall grass and hills. The only thing better would be lithium batteries. Higher up front cost but would last a lot longer and no acid/water to mess with. Yamaha seems to be dragging their feet in offering lithium batteries.

Drew there was a discussion on the neighborhood online about giving the vaccine to your children or grandchildren. One Lady commented "Did you see what was in the vaccine, I would never give that to my children!" It's one thing to put live covid in yourself but being the one to determine if the side effects out weigh the risk for a small child was a different story. Most parents will not be exposing their kids to the vaccine. Health care workers will be first to receive the vaccine as Kyle stated but then who? Stationary people who live in a nursing home or older active people who go out into the community? Should the vaccine give it to the sickest people? Will the side effects put them at a greater risk of death which could shut the process down? What would be the acceptable death rate for the very elderly who die after taking the vaccine? What was the age and health of the test subjects?
