Good Morning!!!! 62F @ 4:00 AM. Abundant sunshine. High 81F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.
Yesterday's rain didn't drop a drop, but temperatures were in the comfortable mid 70s all day. Nice day to be outside.
AQI 3 and 13, inside and out. Time to open up some windows and get some fresh air inside.

Here's some help with the gopher, Bruce...

How long has it been since you slept in your own bed, Drew? There's no place like home...

Hope that tire holds, Ted.

Hope that unlucky streak ends soon, Buppies!

Sounds like you're making good progress, David.

Got the face shield mounted on the new fire hat yesterday, and found that the full face respirator fit under there just fine. The respirator cartridges will stay in their sealed packets until they're needed.

Measured for a new serpentine belt on the van yesterday, but couldn't get the NAPA store to answer their phone to find out if they have one in stock.:confused2:

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

Outside chore done E muffin time. :licking:
Got little rain last night but the wind shook leaves from the tree.
Plans for today...If wind settles down bit more try blow some leaves, maybe watch some football but one thing for sure I'll be on time for dinner. ;)

Enjoy the day all.

Good morning, the temp is 31°F and going to a high of 50. Wind ENE 6 mph. Sunny!

I think I will fire up the tractor and see what damage I can do to the compost pile that hasn't been turned since last spring.

We are celebrating Thanksgiving with a ham today instead of Monday. Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate the Canadian one.

Have a safe day all

Good morning, a bit of a novelty today, a whole day without rain. Spoilt for choice on what to do, I think probably a bit of tree cutting, as I am curious to see if I have overdone the fettling of an old chain for my Husky. Most of my chains are optimised for hardwoods and they do an adequate job for occasional softwood use. With lots of willow and alder to cut, I thought I would try grinding the rakers down a little further to take out bigger chips and see if it is worth swapping chains according to what is being cut.

Got my first ever flu jab yesterday. It was a very efficient operation and needed to be as they are trying to get everyone over 65 in our town vaccinated over a period of just 2 days. I got called up too because I reach that qualifying age later this month. It was a strange sight to see so many masked people walking through the streets to the same place. They had plenty of people marshalling us through with no real queuing. By the time we had given our name, had temperatures checked and bared our arms, it was time to passed down 4 different paths, each with a doctor/nurse to do the stabbing within seconds. I only wish horse flies could learn to be so gentle with their needles. :)

Some very nice autumn pics on here. Most trees around here are still in season denial.

Roy, what self control you have to wait more than a year before trying your Ruger!

Tonight I have dinner in the fridge

Drew, it must be awfully cramped and cold eating dinner inside a fridge - have a better look around today, I'm sure there will be a table to sit at somewhere
So pleased you have a home again

64 outside this AM. Waiting on the rain.

Better luck for you Buppies. Praying for you.

Did you come up 95 Drew or did you hop on the backroads? 95 is always iffy Richmond to the beltway.

Recovery day for me. May hang some foam board today. Need a new drill. Been babying my 20 year old black and decker cordless. The battery will not hold a charge for more than half an hour now. I think I got my money out of it. Probably spent more money in epoxy than what it is worth. Lol.

Dumpster is officially full. And pastures are all cut.

Have a good Sunday. A day of rest. Be safe.20201010_101927.jpeg20201007_183239.jpeg

Buppies, sorry about your issues. Insurance hopefully will take care of the car. Hopefully you can get the septic working. Prayers. This too, shall pass.

which reminds me to get some septic powder....

Wng, glad you got the skunk situation handled, smelly shovel and all.

Drew, starting a new chapter, back near your old stomping grounds.

Eric, glad your jab went smooth. I get the shot every year. Sounds like they herded you all quite well.

RNG, good to see your toothbar fitting good. Prepared for fires. Can you launch a boat if you had one on the old launch? Vanagon is now good to go?

Sounds like riptides is due a day's rest. Full dumpster, worn out drill....

Roy, let us know how you like that pistol. I've had a keen eye out for one since they came out.

Church today. Wifey is making coffee. She made some awesome white chicken chili the other day in the instapot. Will have it for leftovers today.

Prayers for all to have a blessed day.

PJS, my daughter is wanting to have a "gig" at our school's stadium for a hundred plus. I'm researching PA systems. She needs a couple of vocal mics, a couple of lines for guitars, maybe a mic for an acoustic guitar. Looking at used stuff on Marketplace. We have a church member who has a good system, but have not heard back how much he'll charge.

At church building I use QSC amps, mackie mixer, shure and CAD audio mics. Don’t know if this amp is suited for outdoor power you might need.

Good morning to all! Low of 45, high of 77 today. A cold front is supposed to move across bringing nothing but wind! 25-30 mph continuous with gusts to 50. Should be nice..... NOT!

Eric, you always have me chuckle....

RNG, that helmet is nice.... years ago, I was a certified wildland firefighter / sawyer and didn't have equipment as nice as that! Hopefully you will never have to use it!

Ron, nice video... beautiful colors!

Not sure what I will get into today.... everyone have a great day!

Roy, let us know how you like that pistol. I've had a keen eye out for one since they came out.
Will do!
If it shoots as nicely as the Lite, it'll be a great pistol!
There's Picatinny rails both above and below the barrel, so a red dot or some kind of optic will most likely be added
But, I'd suggest the Lite be the first choice, unless you're going to use the pistol for hunting

Dennis, I didn't get off on time so took 95 instead of the scenic route.
Got a personal best of 35mpg on the Audi for the trip.
Wondering...does ethanol gas provide better gas mileage? I had to put a tank in vs my normal E0 and perhaps
only coincidentally mpg went up.

Had to put my four way flashers on five times while in PA, what is it about my state's drivers where they come up on you doing easily 20 over, get within one car length
at 65-70mph and then swerve over? And if traffic is heavy and they can't cut over right away, they tailgate you at high speed. Really stupid.
Very aggressive driving, though I find putting on the flashers works, and better than brake checking them.
Seems the aggressive driving started around Richmond and got worse the further North I went. I was doing 5-7mph over limit and for every car I passed, 100 passed me.

went food shopping this morning, my that store is nice, and it was the "lesser" of the two local supermarkets. Spent 217 bucks stocking up, gulp..., but lot of it was
organic and simply costs more. Even found a relatively healthy pizza, so many more food options than NC supermarkets. However basic stuff was all more expensive, easily 10 to 15 percent higher than NC. Charge what the local (wealthy) market will bear...
then another trip back down town, takes at most ten minutes, to Ace Hardware to get shower curtain rod, bath mat, odds and ends, and home to get shower curtain hung.
Will take shower shortly and then hopefully a nap.
Simply exhausted from this morning, hope my stamina returns
