Ken, I remember when the first winery came in, the one on Route 202 a few miles South of Lahaska. The wine was dreadful, whites were sour, reds tasted like paint thinner.
They just didn't have the sugar content figured out
I'm sure they have improved somewhat...
Several nice wineries on Route 413; I think this one has a pretty good reputation and will make a fun outing when friends come to town
Buckingham Winery Store – Great wine at affordable prices

Was there Saturday- a little tame now with covid, but they used to have live music and guest food trucks.
And the big thing in this area is now wine slushies (no I am not making this up)
Good luck on your travels north! You will be here for the leaves to change.

Those wine slushies started getting popular around here last summer. One popular place in Grafton IL along the Mississippi River has become somewhat known for them. Not much of a drinker, so I haven't tried one.

I have a friend with a vineyard southeast of Sacramento. He wasn't happy with the prices he was getting for his grapes, so he's selling now to boutique wineries, mostly east of the Mississippi. For a LOT more money. It's more fuss getting them packed and finding reliable shippers, but he says he's now able to plow (literally) some of the profits back into the vineyard. And his customers are making great wine with his grapes. Sounds like a win-win to me!:proposetoast:

I made my own wine for many years. Bought grape juice concentrate from Canadian suppliers. It got to hard to handle 6 gallon carboys full of wine. Yesterday I got all the equipment out of cellar. Getting ready to see if it will sell on Facebook Marketplace. There seems to be a good market for good grapes to make grape concentrate.

70°F and 2.18 inches rain last 24 hours - soggy. Cloud cover was quite thick my solar production only half of normal. Hoping for a drier, less cloudy day.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

I follow all the conversations about guns with interest. Now a different kind of interest being a life long pacifist. Funny, I don't think I could even put a hand gun in my hands, would freak me out.
But a long rifle or a shot gun, no problems. I love to target practice and think guns are very interesting from a tech standpoint. I sold my nice .22LR and my shotgun with the house, actually gave them to my neighbor. Growing up in country, fully understand need for guns due to bad critters. Maybe some day I'll get a 20G shotgun with rubber pellets.

Handguns are just metal, plastic and/or wood...inanimate objects. It's the intent (good or bad)as to how they're used.
Try a Ruger SR22 or Mark IV Lite...fun shooting. Also suggest buying one with a threaded barrel, just in case you prefer quiet shooting

I bought a Gore tex running suit in 1985, cringing at the price, but at the time I ran, pretty much rain or shine. Still have it today, not that it fits, but Sophie wears the jacket from time to time.

And then there's folding the infernal things. You're supposed to tuck two corners into each other at each end, then tuck the tucks into each other to end up with a square/rectangle. But the elastic pulls it all into a mess anyway. I feel your pain, Drew! CalKing sheets are almost square, but it still matters that they go on correctly. Thinking about it, before this set comes off next time, I'm going to use a Sharpie to mark one corner so I can get that corner back onto the same corner of the mattress I also mark. It's only taken me 54 years to figure that out!

Reading Drew, I had the same thought. I know some of ours have a white tag inside, but I never remember where it goes. Sophie gets it right more than I do.

Ron, the container is the 20 ft in middle, 7 ft extension each end.

Prayers for your neighbor friend.
