good morning all. Looks to be unpleasant weather next two days with heat advisory posted, feels like 105-108 in high humidity.
Then thankfully it cools off for following week.
Buckeye, fun to watch your project move along, hope it works perfectly when you fire it up. Springs, circlips and ball bearings always did
me in...found that egg cartons made good holders for parts. I was initially wondering why you would fix a big box disposable mower; then looked carefully at
the picture and saw a nice fabricated deck; clearly a better model and worth fixing. Husqy and Cub Cadet seemed to position themselves in a mid ground between MTD and the much more expensive John Deeres. Always wondered how a $2K Home Depot JD D130 held up. I can't grip the sticks of a zero turn so old style riding lawn mower was best for me, but anything built to last seems to start at $5k. Most of us bought our first new cars for less than that...
I've been researching mowers since the rental home I'm considering has about 3/4 acre of lawn to mow. The one I really like is a Kubota but they sure are pricey. Paying 75 bucks a week to a lawn service looks attractive in the short term. If I do buy my own mower again, I have to have power/hydraulic steering. I might consider a nice used mower, if someone took care of it. Enough folks made the switch to zero turns that nice used equipment does show up.
off to heart clinic this morning where they check my implanted monitor. Little readout by bed keeps saying OK, so I'm sure it's fine.
In the heat of the late afternoon yesterday I decided to use up a leftover pork chop and make a stir fry with lots of veggies and mushrooms. Dinner was good but cooking heated up the rv to 82 inside and I sat there eating while dripping sweat. Exhaust fan does a good job with clearing out smell but it also sucks out the a/c.
