Good morning! Feels like Fall at 60˚F, Nearby Austin has had 39 Days of over 100˚F day. It always seems to be a few degrees cooler here. High today here will only be 97˚F.
Garden day - there should be a good crop of okra to pick this morning and probably some chores to do with the tractor.

The tomatoes in the back are struggling in the heat.

Drew, will either place allow a small garden? That second place sure has a lot of large trees close to the house.

62 this morning at dawn, felt like fall. High today 81 and sunny. We got .79” of rain total yesterday and had bright sunny afternoon.
Went to one of my car club’s meeting last night, distancing and masks for all, but the waitress had her mask under her nose.

Going to try to mow and spray the driveway, got the stone flower beds sprayed yesterday. Worked on my Cub Cadet garden tractor, thought the power steering cylinder was leaking but it was some oil I spilled when changing the engine oil, it puddled and dropped on the cylinder. Also made some brackets to hold the sprayer hose and wand, tired of fighting all that hose.

Be safe, fruitful and kind, or at least have fun.

Good morning 64 and going up to 81 - sunny and feels---cold

Ted - Happy anniversary
TXDon - that looks like a nice park to put on our list to visit
RNG - Stay inside or wear a mask (seem to be in style this year) that smoke can really knock you for a loop
RS- You can see the walls again- you've been busy!
Roy-good luck with the audit
Drew-all the pics show very serviceable place with some nice character and property- I'm around if you need any info or a drive by pic
Thomas-Butter is getting big, both our fawns are almost spotless now

stay safe and be well - still laying low :-(

57°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 84° today. Looks like we start warming back towards the 90s again.

Wife wanted pizza last night, so we ordered from the local place in town. They make a good pizza.

We just got our Illinois refund last week, Ron. No surprise that they held onto it as long as possible.

I had one of those surprises a few years ago while out in the barn, RNG. A kid who used to live down the road from us walked up on me with a bicycle. When I asked him if I could help him with something, he told me he was looking for a way through to the next road east of us. I gave him a stern look and told him that was easy; take his bike back down the driveway to the road and make right, ride north about a 1/4 mile to the next road and turn right. Another mile on that road would take him to the road he wanted. I also advised him that trying to take shortcuts through people's property could be dangerous, for a lot of reasons. We kept the pasture gates closed for awhile after that.

Reading your account of that rental house makes me happy I live in the Midwest, Drew. The last house I lived in before I got married was about that size, and was $450/month. Around here, $1600/month will get you a four or five bedroom ranch with an attached two-car garage. Kind of spoiled by the cost of living here.

Good morning to all! No changes to the weather, no rain.... skies are still smoky, but no where near what RNG's are like.

Drew, not a bad place.... I would love to have that table with the porcelain top.... cannot find anything like that out here... I hope you have continued success in your search.

A bunch of nice pictures posted this morning!

Today I will do a job that I have been procrastinating on.... clearing out the small freezer and letting it defrost. We purchased this small one for the cottage, knowing it was not "frost free", but apparently it will have to be defrosted more often than I had thought. Probably every six months....

Then, maybe some clean up out where the water tanks used to be.

Everyone have a great day!

Ken, thanks.
successful morning, a whopping 28 bucks back on my sold truck's property tax, better in my wallet than theirs. Every one of 15 staff there was not wearing a mask.
I quietly asked the lady who was sanitizing the counter, are you afraid of not wearing a mask after the mayor died last week. Oh, I hate to wear those things.
And we take our temps every morning. Useless to get into discussion, no one there was going to wear them anyway until it gets too late... They all were in relatively small rooms too.

Then off to Walmart where I bought a step ladder, nice 4 foot fiberglass one, which I will use shortly to lube the hinges on my awning, and then on to doctor's.
nice visit there and then success, my barber was in. I had taken along a spare new mask to give him if he didn't have one, and thank goodness he was wearing one.
He asked me where I had been and looked at my wild man hair...my it's nice to get that cut. He said he was high risk too and had no choice but to wear a mask.

Now back to rv for some small jobs. Owner of campground called me, had question on CT Scan. Poor guy, maybe late 30's early 40s stood up two days ago, passed out and hit the floor hard. Getting a CT scan tomorrow morning. He sounded pretty shook up. Not dehydrated, and no history of issues.I told him CT was faster than MRI, way less noisy, and just close his eyes and not think about the claustrophobic tube he was in. I think he needed someone to talk to...

Was 63 earlier and felt great. Climbing to 83, but maybe now rain.

Most of plans got rained out yesterday, but did roast some fine coffees from Tanzania and Ethiopia. Haven't seen my son that drinks coffee since Christmas, so planning to roast a few more and send him a variety pack.

I think we'll have enough sunshine today to dry the grass enough to finish, and maybe a second, lower mow of some areas.
