82F and partly cloudy @ 21:00, high reached 90F for the day.
Ran out to the Kubota dealer first thing and picked up gauge wheels and replaced the bad one on right when I got back, and then started mowing down here around the house.
While I was mowing Fedex showed up with the new jig saw:
Got all mowing done down around the house.
After that I ran down to the hardware store and picked up a F to F garden hose coupler and some blades for several razor knives.
Filled up the water buffalo twice and watered in the area around the catch basin to get it to settle/seal ... along with a couple of young oak trees and a lilac bush. Saw a couple of 6" long cracks in the soil that were 3/8" wide around one of the oaks ... NOAA website shows us to be in Moderate to Severe drought conditions. It appears we have lost two red bud trees ...
Glued another panel on the barn owl box while I was waiting for the water buffalo to fill.
The Woman brought home chow from Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken (new place) - she got fried shrimp and red beans and rice, I got fried perch, okra, and seafood gumbo. Mine was passable ... she was not happy with hers at all. I tried some of the red beans and rice and was not impressed (waaay too salty) ... I suspect unless something changes in a major way they won't be in business long ...
After dinner I went out and mowed a couple spots she missed in the upper field.
Likely done with mowing for another week so the MMM will come off tomorrow.

Good evening all. 78F for the start, calm wind, partly cloudy. Moderate wind with some brisk gusts, few more clouds showed but not enough to rain here, and high temp 101F, feels like 111F. Walk with wife, grocery shopping, was able to get almost everything on list but the beef brats. Nap this afternoon

Good morning, our mini heat wave is coming to an end. Can't say I will be sorry to have a break from the humidity and thunderstorms
The weather certainly does seem to be changing, what we think of as excesses will probably just seem normal to the next generation.
If only the heavy rain had come when toilet paper was in such short supply, I wouldn't have needed a ladder for the moss.
LS, you have been busy again. Is that a pair of forceps on your bench ? I have some for removing fishing hooks that must now be over 50 years old, in all that time I have never thought of using them while woodworking. Now you have me guessing - splinter removal, holding small panel pins, or maybe with your medical training you have forceps to carefully apply French polish with cotton swabs ? I give in - do tell !
