Drew's sour cherry pie idea has won out for this year's dessert.

You betcha! Having trouble keeping the kids away from it....

I will admit I have not yet spent the money. But did watch some early action on the live stream yesterday. Finals were only on the NBC package.

The pro rider I have become friends with this year finished 3rd in his final. Might see him next week at the amateur nationals since we both are into supporting developing riders. I gave him some assistance for what he does for the amateur nationals.

cool cool

Rain stopped, sun returned, energy restored. Went back to moving dirt.
Basically all three loads moved. Likely won’t do a clean up until last truck

All went to a bare spot up near cottage. Years ago when the dozer work was done, went too deep, removing the topsoil.

I just rough leveled with the bucket.

good morning all.
just keeps getting hotter out there, 78 out now, 97 high of today
good sleep last night, no interruptions from staff

David you were like a kid in a candy shop with that dirt; of course lot easier to work with before it got rained on a bunch of times. What kind of lawn/grass
grows where you are?

Riptides, careful out there in this heat, maybe work only in the morning.

That cherry pie looks downright awesome

Still haven't confirmed date to bring rv to campground, never got a call back from owner. But he did say he had a site next to his home, which actually had
some shade he could use. He is a farmer, zoomed in as much as I could on his fields, see a green tractor, retention pond, etc. In this heat, really wonder whether single a/c
unit in rv will keep up, some shade sounds good. Putting out the awning helps but have to be careful with afternoon thunderstorms that it doesn't get damaged.
Meanwhile I'm making a big food list from Publix to stock the rv, fridge in rv twice the size of what I have now.

owner of rv camp says all UPS stuff comes to his house at the campground, so I guess I need to get my Amazon ordering done this week too. This is a complete no frills campground,no office, no toilets or showers, etc. but I need none of that. Always preferred my own bathroom and these days safer too.

all with the best of intentions...as i was trying to sell it, next door neighbor got rid of all kinds of things I now need to buy over in rv, like dish drainer, trash can, etc. None of it is expensive, but hindsight is sure easier than foresight.

64 right now...high in the low 90's today...ugh!

Probably do some weed pulling and trimming this morning. My neighbor called later yesterday afternoon asking if I could do some chipping for him. I'd already had a couple beers and my rule is no equipment after alcohol consumption, so I begged off until this morning. I have a small pile to chip, and some more branches to trim (not a pole saw job). I just want to get this all done before the heat sets in

74 going to 97. Porch thermometer showed 99.5 yesterday. No rain, still.

Buckeye, real nice looking trip. I bet that museum has some interesting history of the trail. Thanks for sharing the pic of General Lee statue. The big one in Richmond is still standing but most of the other statues on Monument Avenue have been removed by a legally questionable order of the mayor. They even took down a statue of a policeman helping a little girl.

David, great job spreading that topsoil. I did a little spreading yesterday, too. I used the FEL to dig a new approach to our creek, at the spot that has the lowest bank...used the clay and sand to fill some areas on the trail where the tree roots are proving hazardous. Had to dig the last FEL load by hand since I was getting into a soft area with the tractor, and still on a pretty steep slope for backing out with a full FEL bucket, and was afraid of getting stuck. Still have more to do...will let my back and shoulders rest today, and hike the trail to see how it feels.

Don, enjoy that ice cream! My wife uses frozen banana as the base for making smoothies.

Coffee is done brewing. 74° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 87° with heavy thunderstorms around noon. Did needed house work yesterday. Then modified sparrow trap to fit on one of the poles I put feeders and birdhouse on. Trip to Menard before storms hit. Then put yesterdays laundry away. Put new post in for bird trap. No other plans.
Young Sandhill Crane has grown a lot since May picture. Not sure it can fly. It and it's parents walked from across road.

Drew, sound like your plans are coming together.

David, seat time and moving dirt. Life is good.

Kyle, no cherry pie. But my favorite ice ream is Black Cherry.

Rick, no Blue Bell in my area. Hudsonville is the creamery.

Buckeye, thanks for the great pictures.

Mostly, 54 miles in TX heat. I have problems walking out to the barn in MI heat.

RS, why would the attic fan shut off at 89°? :confused3:

Riptides, snake rescue? :confused2: Great picture.

Prayers and best wishes for all. Especially Jay and Peg.

Good Morning All.
