Good morning! 77˚F heading to 103˚F and a heat index of ?????. Because of the spike of virus our church went back to streaming only service. Our county increased 12K last week and our town increased 200. Still only 41 deaths in county.

Making a quick run to the gardens to try to keep the watermelons wet so they will sprout. I have the irrigation set on every 8 hours but it still is getting dry after a few hours.

Hydration Hydration Hydration
As we get older we can no longer trust our sense of thirst to keep us hydrated.

Hope you find what’s wrong with coco.

I rode hovercraft from England to France and back.

Phone didn’t charge last night, so have to be on the cord today.

Couldn’t get my FILs BX23 to start. Just makes a clicking noise. It was sitting on empty, so got some diesel to put in it. Even used jump starter, so not low battery. Won’t even begin to turn over. I told MIL I want to buy the BX.

Thanks for the tax info.

Only model planes I built were the plastic ones, don’t have any of my models any more.
Built a working model of a v8 engine once, clear plastic so you could see the parts move. It had an electric motor to drive the parts. It might still be in attic of dads house.

Had a model ship with sails that sat around for years, been knocked over and busted. Last week when at dads I tossed it.

Love seeing everyone’s talent.

I noticed a lot of brown yards driving around Rockingham co yesterday.
This is an old mill. On this site once sat a larger mill that my wife’s 4G GF Jacob once owned.

Jacob Lincoln that ran this mill is son of David Lincoln mentioned in this sign.

Don, you previously mentioned Budesonide. Here's a pretty convincing video in favor of it.

Kyle are you preparing your tomato plants for the heat. I heard on the radio that hot days over 90 degrees and warm nights over 80 degrees result in pollen sterility. That is why they are fizzling out. But if you trim them and keep them watered and alive till September they will start producing again. The radio said something about trimming out the middle of the plants ??? I need to do a bit more research.

How much do you trim them? They have tomatoes growing at the moment. I have always wanted to put some solar screen above my garden during the worst of summer. I have actually bought some oilfield pipe. I bought 2 sizes. I was going to use the larger for a ground flush installed "bushing" so that I could remove the smaller pipe when needed. But the larger pipe is not quite large enough to throat the smaller... It is always so nice to walk into Lowes or HD's garden area, that is covered with solar screen. It makes it so nice underneath.

Good Morning it's 76F heading to 97F today and I took my air conditioned tractor in to be serviced over the next two weeks! Some things might have to be put off until it gets home!

Kyle, I did not know Uncle Fred but my best friend that went to be with the Lord about 4 years ago has 2 building full of Model plane stuff. I go into them a couple times a month just to make sure they are ok and no rodent activity. I have not flown since he past. It just is not the same for me anymore but many of fond memories hanging out and flying model planes!

I suppose it can be an addictive hobby. Easy to bite off more than you can chew. I have that problem with "projects" in the barn.

79F and cloudy @ 12:00, supposed to go up to a high of 82F with a 50% chance of a thunderstorm for the day.

Currently under a lightning alert, closest strike just under 30 miles away.

Set out larger critter live trap late last night ... need to check that first thing, along with sparrow trap.

Lots of activity at bird feeders this morning: house finches, blue jay, others ... plus what appeared to be a juvenile northern flicker.

Possibly some mowing on the menu today.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Sunday.

Good Morning!!!! 87F @ 8:45. Plentiful sunshine. High around 105F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.
Looks like I got you beat by 2 degrees, Don. Forecast also reports that the current 87F temperature "feels like" 83F, no doubt due to the low humidity. This afternoon it'll get down to 11%.

Beautiful orchids and lilies, folks. Thanks for sharing.

Neowise comet is now visible just after sunset as well, Randy. Look below and to the left of the Big Dipper.

Better sit down, Ted, I've got some news for you. I ordered another tandem truck full of gravel last week, and it might get here as soon as tomorrow... I bet that room full of model planes brings back some great memories, huh? Some hard decisions coming up?

Hope you're feeling better Drew. I also wonder if you'll have a nurse checking in on you, especially after the chemo doses.

Spent most of the day yesterday hanging out in the A/C, but I did get the mounting holes drilled in the new electrical cutoff placards. Also cleaned up the pizza steel, and decided to give it a try. The BBQ wasn't getting hot enough, then I saw that the bottle had run out. Put a new one in an it made it to 600F:eek:. That may have been a little warm, as the pizza was almost toast after only 7 minutes. It was still good, though. Used some of my home made spaghetti sauce, with canned mushrooms and black olives, and nutritional yeast instead of cheese. I'd do that again, but at 500F as per the instructions on the pizza doe pack.

Also crawled around under the firetruck, and located what looks to be a 1 1/4" pipe plug on the bottom of the water tank. Gave it a nice drink of Kroil penetrating oil, and will try to remove it later today. Talked to the previous owner, and he says he used a vacuum cleaner on it the last time it got cleaned. I think I'll try that, too, and maybe use a garden scraper and a chimney sweep brush, too. I wonder how much junk got into the feed pipe to the pump, but probably not much can be done about that. But might get lucky with the vacuum hose, just depends on how much I can see from the open lid.

Hope everybody enjoys the rest of the weekend.
