77F, partly cloudy, and quite breezy ... supposedly going up to a high of 83F ... which will be a welcome relief.

Enjoying first cup of coffee, slow start for the day.

No real plans yet except for checking the sparrow trap ... but there's certainly no shortage of possibilities.

What prevents other birds from going in there?

Nothing - other than size - which is why it needs to be monitored regularly. Don't want to be capturing non-target species.

Good morning. We found the sun again, enough to heat a full tank of hot water yesterday. It's gone shy on us this morning, which is fine with me as I can keep cool while getting on with a long promised tidy up by my welding table. I hate to throw away metal offcuts, not sure if may-one-day-come-in-useful-itus is a recognised medical conditions, but I seem to have been afflicted with it for most of my life

RS, when we hostas in our garden they were always getting grazed off by slugs. Your leaf thiefs are a lot easier on the eye.

They are quite cute.

Yeah ... that's fine ... we're happy to provide them with a little treat ...

We have so many hostas growing here (and soon to be even more) it's unlikely they could make a real dent in them.
