Good morning to all! Low of 65, going for 97 today. No rain .... not even a chance..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRUCE!

I did not do anything in the hobby shack yesterday, did a little work on the tractor. Made a step support from come 1/4" flat bar stock. Then made / welded an extension for the parking brake lever. The factory lever is way down at the brake pedal, and I always struggled to reach down with the steering wheel in the way, plus the aftermarket seat sits about 4" higher. I basically made a lever that is up at the dash to be able to push down the original lever. The paint is drying, so will post pics later.

Also had to do a quick stop at the grocery store and the PO to pick up a package sent to us.

Maybe today I will get a chance to work on the hobby stuff....

It has just been way too hot... makes me a whole lot slower and less incentive to even do anything.

Everyone have a great day!

RS, hadn't heard about the calcium issue...will have to check it out.

Here ya go:

Feeding mealworms to bluebirds

Best wishes for Coco.

Drew - hope you feel better soon and no more bumps in the road on sale ...

Roy - glad to hear you are feeling better.

Rick - like the fajitas as well ...

David - great news on Sophie's progress ... Happy Birthday to Kalani !

RS sounds like full day, cat food and water in live trap works every time for coons

Happy Birthday MG.

Yeah ... I imagine it would.

We've had good luck with peanut butter on a saltine cracker.

But before I can do anything I need to run down to TSC and pick up another large trap to replace the old one which has gotten pretty mangled up.

RS i'll bet inspector 7 wants to stay on the job to see what eats there :)

No doubt ...

BEF - that shade do make a difference. Hope you (and others that need it) get some rain.

It seems like this virus thing is un-hinging people. More wacky behavior than normal.

No doubt about it ... some of it is pretty unbelievable ...

RNG, what size hose do you have on your firetruck and how many feet? What is the flow rate of you our nozzles? I's always good to know how many minutes before you run out of water.

Will you be able to fill up at a FD connection, is it close?

Last question first, Don, I'm parked right next to the 2400 gallon water tank. But I don't have a suction hose I can draft with, yet. I need some help determining what size thread wise, to buy. If I take a photo or two of the suction hose inlet fitting with a rule in it, can you guys tell me what size to get?

There are a pair of hose reels, one on each side, and I think each one is a 1 1/2 or 2" line. I was told they put out 30 GPM.

There's a roll of hose in the back, and I haven't looked at that one closely to see the size.

More homework.

In the photo I put up earlier, we rigged a garden hose to feed the tank on the truck, and it kept up pretty well with how we were using the water. That wouldn't be the case in a real fire, though. Through a 1" hose, I think the well pump will put out about 5 GPM, but again, I haven't checked it lately.

Ted was joking the other day about what the next project should be, and from a safety standpoint, it should be to create more water storage. More homework...

If it's a 750 gpm pump, suction inlet should be 4.5". You may or may not also have a 2.5" suction below the main inlet.

Good morning - 73 going to 84.
Went and drilled the mounting holes for the bar dry sink yesterday- Came in soaked from the humidity- must have been around 15 minutes total
Followed by some rain.

Drew - feel better and paperwork at the last minute happens. hopefully this is the last of it. I had to project manage my bank to make closing date when I bought my house- every change was a week delay-so I got up in their faces and moved things along !

Mostly - Happy birthday!

RNG - Firetruck - big toy! and I can see it's usefulness in your area, can be some fun too, watering the garden at a hundred feet :)

David- Sophie is making good progress - Great to hear!

Saw my neighbors newborn girl yesterday (at about 20' just in case) :cool2:

Stay Safe and be well

RNG, the small hose reel is usually a one inch line, aka booster line, that would be your 30gpm, maybe a little more if cranked up. Often used for car fires, vegetation fires,
and places where only a little water is needed. 1.5 inch line puts out
considerably more, 150gpm or so. 2.5 inch line usually needs to be handled by two people, it's for big fires.
Of course all output is based on pump rpm. Pump/hose fittings I'll leave up to others

Dad sent this postcard of Cloverly Harbour England to his future wife (mom) dated 30 sept 1944.
He would have been fighting in France or Belgium by that date.

69°F and .41 inches rain

Got state taxes done and filed yesterday. State must be getting desperate, as they were processed within just a few hours after submission. Will be interesting to see when the money leaves the bank account.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

RNG, I do not have a Fire truck to compare a measurement pic but Rick does.

Are you planning on using the suction to draft an open water supply, pond or pool?

91° at lunch time.
Ron’s Lilly picture reminded me to take a picture of some of my wife’s flowers. She grows beautiful flowers.

Mostly, happy birthday.

I’ve noticed reckless driving is on the increase as well as crime. I’m for more and better funded police.
