Checking In:

I do not know where my energy is coming from, but I am much happier counting birds and being productively active outdoors and in physical contact with dirt than listening to/reading the 渡ews and getting more depressed.

Yesterday's 34ºF and today's 37ºF have not hurt the garden and I feel my best physically with these cooler temperatures. Yesterday was another active day and relatively productive day outside as well as a successful curbside pickup from our general store and a curbside pickup of some decent barbecue. Today I got fuel for the mower and truck, mowed the remainder of our lawn, and bushwhacked some more invasive/encroaching Autumn/Russian Olives and brambles. I really like my Stihl 131R powerhead and its Kombitool (interchangeable) Attachments. I have 2 string trimming heads, a pruning saw attachment, and a chisel head circular saw blade. The chisel head saw blade is ~40 years old. Today with Wifey's approval I got a new saw blade and an adjustable hedge trimmer attachment to continue taking back the woods.

Billy- Bears are pretty intelligent. For every measure I take to outsmart them they always seem to figure out a countermeasure.

Thomas- I get up before dawn to put out the feeders and I swear that I am getting buzzed by hummers in the dark.

Drew- Thanks for the updates. I continue to project my + thoughts, wishes, and prayers your way.

Bruce- The past 2 nights have been bear-free.

I really need to tune in here daily.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Drew keep the faith! I'm glad to see you posting again . . . I go in for back surgery on 6/11 . . . replacing/fusion of 3 of the lower disc. :confused3:

Don, question on your potatoes. Do you plant whole or cut into sections? If cut do you wait between cutting and planting?

I cut as I’m dropping them in the ground.

Did my Walmart grocery pickup, while wife went in to get all the other stuff we needed that you can’t get delivered outside. This was my pickup that got canceled last Sunday, don’t know why. Meantime 3 more things not in stock for groceries, and she couldn’t find some other stuff.

Nice day, slightly cool

Kyle, gross legal is just a cats' hair under 140,000 lbs. Right now I am grossing 138,675 lbs. Just a hair under 11,000 US gallons.
I have 11,684 lbs on the steer axle and can go to 14,000. I prefer to keep the steer axle around 11-12,000 lbs for the ride.
The joy with these 'B' trains is that they back up so much easier than the old school 'A' trains. Only 2 pivot points as opposed to three with the 'A' train

Good evening all. 71 for the start, partly cloudy, light breeze. Another light wind moderate gust day, sky clouded up some but no rain, and high temp was 93. Will stay in 90's, and humidity build over next few days. Went fishing this morning, got some bites early could not set hook so no catches :( After lunch and rehydration, went biking, then nap. finished with trip to out favorite Mexican restaurant.

Got 2/3 of the things on the shopping list, not the best trip. No shredded cheese, grape jam, sweetener, hand soap, onions.
Couldn’t entice my wife to stop at DQ, so had rest of strawberry shortcake when got home.

Stayed up late entering last 2 months credit charges into quicken.
Had some Mexican chicken from moes for dinner, in tortilla with some salsa. Hit the spot.
Wife was cleaning window sills today. Cat knocked over bucket of water on our foyer carpet.
Haven’t seen the baby rabbits since the day I discovered them under the deck.
