RS, nice grass catcher.

I like their design. Someone was thinking when they came up with it.

It should solve the problems of dumping Trak-Vac.

I would hope so.

Ideally, I would like to come up with a set up that would allow the rear door to be opened and closed hydraulically. That way I could dump and just keep rolling.

Not too sure that I could come up with anything that would operate reliably tho' ...

My FEL only has little over 1000 hours on it. With way more greasing than it ever needs.

Yeah ... keeping them greased is key.

I think the recommendation is every 10 hours of use. That seems like a lot, but thinking about it a little I really don't think that it is.

Beautiful picture of the sunrise BTW ... really enjoy your photos ... thanks for posting them ...

That sounds like a pretty ambitious project, RS.

Could be ... :D

Wouldn't you also get some slop from the hydraulic hoses expanding as the bucket hits the bottom of its bounce? And since they act like springs, the bucket gets a little boost up, exaggerating the bounce even more.

Seems like a reasonable premise - but I know that doesn't account for all of it - not even close (the rattling is a hint :D)

I think - at a minimum - I have the four new pins for the bucket in stock, ordered them a couple of years ago ... might also have the rear pins for curl cylinders as well. Just need to check the inventory.

There's a link in my sig below to the thread where I described the pin/bushing fiasco. Kinda hurts to re-read it.:banghead:

I can only imagine ...

I'll definitely review it before I proceed further ... Thanks !

I almost bought one from a guy over in Southern Maryland about 3-4 years ago. He had it on a 3000 Series Cub Cadet. The tractor looked a little rough but ran fine and the grass catcher was a sight to behold working. It raised up and then flipped back as the door opened on it. I had in mind using it to build something else and didn’t need the tractor. As I recall he only wanted about $750 for all of it.

Edit: I don’t remember if it disconnects from the hard hose or if it had a flex hose that stayed connected.

57 outside this AM. Heading to lower 60's. Dry, but windy and still chances of rain under a grey sky.

Last night while grilling, no kidding, a maple branch came down missing the grill by inches. Wife freaked when it hit, but I was already by the door. Driveway looks like a hail storm came through, lots of new growth all over the place from the trees. Very odd.

RNG, it's a woods tooth bar. Had really good luck with the last one I had on the other 'bota. Dealer just left, got the armrests, rake and tooth bar all delivered. Super happy with their service and sales experiences. Said they were going to Lynchburg to pickup some equipment. Good for them!

Hope all have a good day today. Be safe. Prayers for those of in need.

Good Morning 54 going to 64 - still mostly cloudy but dry.
Pool is open , but at 54deg so might be too cold to swim! Need to get bags of salt, another adventure awaits.

Working on permit for roof, having a friend do it with his team. Garage roof is steep, not walk-able, so no way clumsy me will do that.

Stay safe, be well.

Nice ...

Yeah ... those are pretty slick ... I have seen similar setups on other brands ... possibly Walkers ... ?

Looks like the vac portion is driven off the mower.

They tend to be a little smaller capacity-wise than what I would want ... but entirely suitable for a lawn service company or home owner that's doing smaller yards.

To give some idea of the difference in size, the dry weight on that Locke unit I posted the picture of is (supposedly) 1540 lbs ... that's only 200 lbs shy of the weight of the tractor I'd be pulling it with ...

With a 3.5 cu. yd. capacity, and a full load of compacted green grass clippings, the load in the Locke alone would weigh near 2500 lbs.

FWIW, I tried to call Drew on Monday ... it went to voice mail.

Hope he is ok.

Please let us know how the new tooth bar works for you.

And glad no one was hurt by that falling limb!

Another day of gusty winds and cool temps, not much rain here. Of 20 days in May, 17 have been windy and 16 below normal temps.

Wish we could hear from Drew. I may try to call or text him later.

You guys in southwest Va. be safe in the flooding.

Prayers.

Thanks, Randy. Let us know about Drew.
