56 going to 71, maybe a shower.

Real nice tractor pix. Mine's pretty dirty right now. Might blow it off and lube it today if weather is good.

RNG, what do oxalates do negatively?

Mostly, I never got to my wood splitting, either. Roasted coffee instead after taking Coco to park hiking. Saw more people/kids than usual for midday, since often there is no one there - 13 and 1 dog. I guess with school closed, parents are taking their children for short excursions.

Here is an interesting animal caught on the trail cam, and a red fox for comparison.

chupacabra! Interesting.

Little bit of excitement here this morning. Muffin (my avatar) decided to go for a long walk. She is blind. Took me about 1 1/2 hours to find her. After walking around my place and closest neighbors places. I got golf cart out and went looking for her along county road. Happen to see a tiny white spot behind one of the houses. Drove up their driveway. Nothing. Decided to walkout to back of their large backyard. There she was in a little low spot. Still looking for the way home. Got her home, dried and warmed up. I am ready to conserve energy rest of the day.

Oh wow, I'm glad you found her. I'll bet she was getting cold?

I went out and took some pics of the shop... I know I needed proof that it happened! All this reorganization just affirmed that I need a bigger shop!

Can you come do mine? Great job. My problem is I have too many projects....and equipment.

My awesome daughter and I worked in the garden for 3-4 hours today. Pulled some old spinach and kale, planted 12 more tomato plants, 6 eggplants (don't know why), 6 cantaloupe, 8 squash. Hilled the potatoes with some sand, put some compost under all the new seedlings. She also thinned the carrots we planted about a month ago. Love her so much.

Ron, nice bluebird pic.

A Thermos. A novel idea...I'm trying to remember the last time I knew a person that carried their own thermos full of coffee to work. My uncle the union plant worker comes to mind.

I remember my chemistry teacher teaching us about the properties of a Thermos, (I won't bother with the physical properties) which uses a double walled glass vessel, which uses an internal silver lining with a vacuum. Not sure who figured this out a long time ago. IIRC, silver has one of the highest thermal conductivity transfer properties....

and cheaper than a Yeti.

Back in the bad ol' days as an undergraduate at Ohio State, enrolled in the welding engineering curriculum, the weldors had to take 8:00AM classes with the metallurgy majors. I remember walking the better part of a mile to those classes in winter quarter, decked out in a down jacket, mountaineering boots, gaiters, and carrying a quart stainless steel Thermos full of boiling hot spearmint tea laced with honey. While I defrosted with that tiny tin cup full of steaming tea in the front row of seats, the head of the metallurgy department would greet the class with "good morning students, good morning weldors", as we were considered black sheep in his classes. The funniest part is that his own son had chosen to enroll in not the metallurgy department, but the welding engineering department, but then he wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. And the welding students banded together in study groups and absolutely smoked the metallurgy majors in the grade department.

It wasn't all work and no play for that Thermos bottle, as I also remember filling it full of strawberry daiquiri and smuggling it into the local movie theater to watch Sargent Peppers with a few close friends...:cloud9: I still have that down jacket somewhere around here, but the ponytail down over my shoulders has disappeared without a trace:eek:.

Good morning all (weldors too ;)), our clocks just got messed with, so thought I would try an early attempt to get on GM while many are still coming to terms with their alarms ringing an hour earlier. Success at last, the pages are loading normally, even managed to see a couple of pics. Internet access is very hit and miss this last week, some sites load very quickly, while others like TBN are more reminiscent of old dial up modem days. Netflix has reduced the streaming bit rate in Europe by 25% to try and free up more bandwidth for other uses.

Good to see that so many have been able to catch a bit of seat time.

Drew, it is a hard time to be selling a house. Here the government has told people not to try it and even those who have already exchanged sale contracts are being urged to hold off moving in or out.

Kyle, it sounds like your daughter is doing all she can to keep food on the table. No wonder you are proud, in years to come perhaps she will be telling her own kids what she did with their grandpa to get through 2020.

Food supplies are holding up here, lots of shortages, but no one able to get to the shops is starving.

Take care all.

Good morning, the temp is 37°F and going to a high of 41. Wind E 22 mph. T-storms. None yet.

I managed to get most of the snow piled up from the tin roof unloading over the winter, pulled out and now there is about 4' before the snow & ice reach the wall. Before the days of the BH, it was pick and shovel work and would take two of us all day. Yesterday it took me about 1.5 hours, all by my lonesome.

Today, I might start on my exhaust. But don't hold your breath.

Have a safe day all

Good morning all.
67 going up to 89 today, got over 90 yesterday in the sun.

Drew are you drinking enough and getting enough electrolytes?
Absolutely! A quart of Jim Beam a day...

actually going to start drinking the diet sports drinks; once I start to sweat outside, and almost always feel better after drinking one.
My sodium level is always normal in lab tests but whatever is in those drinks helps out.

headed off to Food Lion this morning when they open at 7. Hope they have restocked.
My kingdom for two pounds of ground beef....

Probably will finish planting the flowers today, in this case broadcasting pollinator seeds, and that's all I have planned for today.
Need to get empty the greenhouse, gets to be 120 in there in sun, just too hot.

I might get the orchard sprayer out and do the fruit orchard as most trees are leafing out now. Just don't want to spray when lot of flowers out
though I do use a fog pattern to soak the tree. Today will be Bonide fruit tree spray plus a chaser of Neem oil.
Kyle, nice peach!

Please stay healthy and enjoy your day.
