31 right now...looks like 4-5 inches of snow outside. Tractor is plugged in and I'll head out in an hour or thereabouts. High in the low 40's today.
Most of our commercial work has been shut down, once we machine what we currently have batched. Military work will keep running until further notice. The contract employees at our sister plant have all been let go. Doesn't look good for the near term future...

My brother got sent home today. Works in factory for high end windows and doors.

Been letting one of the cats sleep with me. Except middle of night becomes play time. It’s fascinated with getting on nightstand and knocking things off. Just had to put it in basement.

Good morning, another good dose of sunshine coming up today. At midnight the "Stay at home" orders came in here too.

Yesterday I took my car in for a service, which was quite normal apart from the taped lines to try and keep customers away from the staff and a man who appeared through a door at regular intervals, like a character on one of those old European animated clocks, to spray and wipe down the surfaces. The Subaru garage is on a busy road opposite a teaching hospital. It was quite pleasant to sit in a quiet corner and watch vehicles and nurses go by while I listened to radio programs downloaded the night before. Two hours passed in no time at all.

On the drive home I have not seen so many people riding bikes since the Tour de France rode through Yorkshire. The virus shutdown is a claustrophobic financial and health nightmare for some, while others are getting a taste for retired life way ahead of time.

Good morning, temp is 24°F and going to a high of 41. Wind WNW 3 mph. Sunny!

The Canadian goobermint is sitting today to pass a bill regarding this virus. I am off to North Bay to do the month end shopping, today. I will go again on Friday to do more shopping. They cannot stop the healthy people from getting groceries. One of the neighbours is 'self isolating' she says for 14 days due to her asthma. May have to get groceries for her too.
Having already dealt with a friend who had scarlet fever (way back in the 1950s) I already know how to deal with isolation and quarantine. She can pay me when she is 'out of the woods'. I will keep the receipts and as long as the bill isn't too high I will 'lose' them.

The new gaming chair that I bought 3 months ago is like sitting on a board. NOT comfortable at all. It might be that my skinny old azz just doesn't have the padding of a young buck, so I will go to Staples and see if I can score a new one cheap.

Daughter in law went to the hospital by ambulance the other night, short of breath and coughing constantly. The found her sugar was a tad high and the iron levels were down to about 6. Scheduled for a colonoscopy today or tomorrow and then an endoscopy after that. They (the quacks in Huntsville, a better hospital than North Bay) think she is bleeding internally. 2 weeks ago her iron levels were normal, after taking iron pills for the previous 3 weeks. She at least sounds chipper on the phone and her breathing has quieted down considerably.
The meat wagon crew was more than happy that she requested Huntsville, as they were out of Burkes Falls and covering for South River as our two wagons were out working. South River is halfway between Huntsville and North Bay. Burkes Falls is halfway between South River and Huntsville.

Sometime between the shopping runs and what have you, I will be taking the back blade off and putting the back ho on.

Have a safe day all

39 going to 61. Skies are clearing nicely.

Owl hooting and raccoon on porch kept me awake after waking from a nightmare. Interestingly, I was in Houston shoveling out the ship channel and my dog got caught on a barbed wire fence. The guy I was staying with was Bob Crane (Hogan's Heroes), who was married to a girl from my high school. Isn't the resting brain a thing of mystery.

BEF, you have a dad to be real proud of.

RNG, hope you have nailed your problem so you can get back to the important things, like drone videos.

Roy and Thomas, wish I could be up your way to help with the snow. I could sure use I good dose of it. You could fill up my pickup bed so I could bring some home.

Ted, no surgery. My mom had bad pain in her abdomen Sunday...the EMTs came and checked her out, and did not want to take her to the emergency room. They also were not wearing gloves or masks. Later she called again and they came back...she said the ER was like a ghost town...and no visitors were allowed in the hospital, just one caregiver, if necessary in the ER.

Our governor has closed schools for the rest of the year...I wonder if seniors will be graduated or have to do some makeup work and how affect their progression into college or getting jobs. Also close all non-essential businesses. I had a haircut appointment this morning but cancelled it.

Eric, I agree that many are living the retired lifestyle ahead of time, but many without retirement sources of income.

Did my oldest son's taxes yesterday, so will need to finish mine today. If things dry, will do some more bush hogging and take Coco for a hike, avoiding all barbed wire fences.

Randy, hope you got your medicine.

Buckeye, I found that domesticated cats are nocturnal if you keep them awake all-day then they will sleep all night.
One of my grey ones parks her beehind on the corner of the kitchen table, we restrict her intake of fat and grease, she will ignore what I am eating until I finish, then she will try her luck at scoring some grease. A simple NO usually puts a stop to that and if she ignores the no, then she gets a gentle tap on her and she usually quits and sulks for the rest of the evening. To the best of our knowledge, we have zero cats on the countertop, just the one that sleeps on the kitchen table and hangs there during meals. Countertops and tables get wiped down with vinegar before we start fixing food anyway and we never put raw food on the kitchen table, always on a cutting board.

Come get it!! Bring a trailer too!
Boy, the weather guessers really underestimated the accumulation. The 3-5 inches was more like 7-9 inches....even though it's pretty wet snow (great for snowballs!). Just finished plowing my drive, neighbor's drive and the end of the cul-de-sac. The township plow did worse then their usual half-a$$ed job

40 heading to 61 today. Wife has a delivery scheduled for the animals. Guess I will be moving stuff around later today. Left me a note if I had cash for a tip. I cannot remember the last time I used dollars. Someone is gonna get a lot of quarters today.
Need to clean up around the burn pile too.

That is some big storm up north.

Have a great day all. Be safe. Stay healthy.
