Ok, this is sorta funny now that it's over.

I was blown off my feet by my Stihl backpack blower. DearWife advised me this morning that some company was stopping by later so I thought I would blow leaves out of the extra carport bay for them to pull into. Thought it would be a quick easy task.

I usually start the blower and then put it on. This time somehow before getting it completely on and strapped I must have hit the trigger and accelerated the blower when I was off balance causing me to fall into some shelves. Before anyone knew about it I recovered and got up, shut the blower off, picked up everything, back in place, put the blower back on and blew out the carport. Nothing to show for it except a small bruise on my left hand.

I am always amazed at the power that thing has but I respect it more now.
I would Stihl call that a good review except for the bruise. Maybe the EGO is bruised too? I'm trying to find a double entendre or pun or something...

43F going to 70F. Good

Daughter brought her 2010 car over. Low on engine oil by about 2 quarts. Low on tranny fluid by 2 quarts. Changed engine oil and filter, added fresh Dexron VI to tranny. Aired up tires, they were low too from the cold weather. Glad I had really nice weather. I have a roll up 10x12 garage door on the back of my barn that I open for a breeze or get the mower out. It was filthy dirty on the inside, so I got my fine bristle shop wide broom and washed/brushed it and then cleaned the floor around it. Looks better except for all the spider webs I have.

3yo nephew went home after expending around 10,000 calories worth of energy. Whew! He was good, just constant busy/playing/talking/exploring. My 15yo son played with him a lot and took him for a gator and tractor ride. Then they chased each other around the house for a long while. I was wore out just watching them.

My wife and autistic daughter bbq'd some pork ribs back on Thursday when it was fairly cool and breezy outside. They came out good in the pellet grill. My daughter carried the 20lb sack of pellets out to the grill (about 100 ft) but then found out the hopper was already full and she lugged them back. They cooked them on the top rack at 250F for about 4-5 hours. yummy. Son and daughter got 2 meals off of them, the rest of us just 1 meal.

Wifey made home made real butter chocolate chip cookies. Everyone had their fill.

Prayers for our team, especially those in need. Ted Dona, Bupps Holly, Mostly, Drew's back, BEF's shoulder, Lou's healing, Ron keeping warm up there in the cold, our nation, and for peace in the world.

Visualize whirled peas. LOL.

Looks like we have a neighborhood murder mystery to solve. This is about 2 miles from us and a half mile from our old house. Unknown if the bodies were residents at this time. Will find out more at cards Monday.
Wow!
I noticed the street names are named after creeks in Texas. The little map on the page showed Pipe Creek and Coleto Creek streets. I have been to both creeks multiple times.

Nice truck, Don. Looking forward to your impressions vs the old one.
Have to test the 4wd in the rain, the Ford would fishtail whenever I took off and turned. The Birds Eye view is spectacular for parking, did not have it on the Ford and my wife was complaining that I always parked crooked in the Ford. The acceleration is great with the hybrid motor and turbo kicking in. The ride is noticeable smoother and quieter than the Ford. The heads up display on the windshield is very nice the Ford did not have it.

The 14" multimedia screen is a big improvement over the 7" Ford screen. The wireless apple car play and charge pad is a nice addition always had to mess with cords on the Ford. The bed camera is also nice addition the Ford did not have along with the pulldown bumper step and the automatic tailgate and the digital rear view mirror. The ventilated and heated seats should keep me comfortable the Ford only had heated seats. Integrated trailer brake, the Ford did not have. I have not tried out the FLEX portable speaker yet, it pops out of the top of the dash. Power running boards, the Fords were stationary.

It has all the things the Ford had and more: adaptive cruise control, dual zone A/C and heat, cross traffic alert,Blind spot monitor, smart key system on the doors, automatic windshield wipers, auto headlights and auto high beams,

G’day. Had the chance to take our oldest out Christmas tree shopping today. Normally we cut our own, but no chance for that this year, the kids have been in multiple Christmas concerts and shows each weekend this month. So, a pre-cut tree it is, this year

Since I was in the neighborhood, I took the opportunity to stop at one of my favorite local beer distributors, and restock a bit. Present beer fridge inventory, here at ches WinterDeere:

Duvel Blonde
Piraat
Monk’s Cafe Grand Cru
Augustijn Blonde
Delirium Tremens
Gulden Draak classic
Gulden Draak Imperial Stout
Gulden Draak Quad
St Bernardus Abt. 12
St Bernardus Christmas Ale
Founders Backwoods *******
Allagash Curieux
Allagash Tripel
Ommegang Three Philosophers Quad
Troeg’s Mad Elf
Fegely’s Rude Elf Reserve
Sam Octoberfest
Stella Artois
Duchesse de Bourgogne

Some others I can’t remember. :p Variety is the spice of life!

Woke up to snow this morning, but it had melted and dried enough by afternoon that I blew the final leaves out of the gardens and got one last mowing for the year done before dark this evening. Mighty cold for zooming around on a ZTR at speed for two hours, around 30F I’d guess, but it’s done!

Person of interest arrested on other charges this afternoon caught driving victims car.

Clanton was one of the victims and in a "relationship" with the 28 year old that was caught driving Yost (2nd victims) car
Yost was the owner of the house.

PD has identified the person of interest:
nvestigators identified Justice Marquez Washington, 28, of Georgetown, as a person of interest. Mr. Washington also lived at the residence and was in an intimate relationship with Mr. Clanton.

Ken, a Zamboni scrapes the ice chips and a little of the surface up heats them to water and lays said water down to smooth out the ice surface. Can be put on the rear of a tractor OR can be a self propelled unit.

Snow plowing all done for today. Did that before the town/dump run.

Dump/town run was uneventful for me, but the person leaving the dump before me managed to freak out when she met the snow plow on that skinny road and motored into the ditch. Township grader and plow truck were there, so I think the grader might have pulled her out. I didn't have any trouble getting past the plow truck nor the grader even though the grader had his moldboard sticking out past his tires by about a foot.

good morning all
up too early but had a good sleep
nice to look out and see all the Christmas lights up; batch yesterday finished off
lights for this year.
I suppose I'm wasting a little electricity but I simply leave mine on all day.
More worried the inflatables won't come back up right if I turn them off.

off to have lunch with old friends who live near where my rv is stored.
Headed to rv first, drop some things off and turn off the 12VDC power.

Zambonis are very cool. Most folks have never heard of one and would think
it's an Italian sandwich.

Bill always good to stay out of the ditch. Though if grader coming the other way,
might sure has right...

high of 43 in sun today

Good morning TBN!!
26 this morning with a lot of fog. Should be a gloomy 40 today. Another precip chance coming overnight.

Wife and dog went off to do some things in the morning leaving me to do what I want.
Started working on the underside of the buggy. Cut another rail out that was pretty thin. Replaced the 1" round with 1" square. Starte,d cleaning up the underside so I can get some paint on it to limit more rust. It's a lot harder working over my head and my, arms, neck, and back are feeling it today!
Got a new WiFi thermostat I need to install. May tackle that today. Not as straight forward as I would like because the wiring is quite different.
Other then that will see what I can get in to.

Time for a second cup.
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

Good Tractor Morning,
Ct, 24 to start going to 38, supposedly 😉

Last night we went with the whole clan to Thomason Santa Train ride. Kids had a ball meeting Mr and Mrs Klaus. Good thing for the adults was the adult beverages. Kathleen and I had an Old Fashion, it was quite good 😉

This morning we are headed to the early church service as we normally do, and on our way home will fill Kathleen’s car because it’s getting low.

Not sure what the rest of the day has in store.

I did have a QSO with a fella that says he has a fit back here in Ct that owns a Drake linear amp that he may want to sell. I’m not sure that’s the right amp for me but I think it’s worth looking into.

Hope all have a blessed day 🙏

Had a great Santa Express train ride with our GD, son and DIL yesterday...was worried that fog and black ice would prevent us from making the trip there by the 9:30 am boarding time, but we got there with 45 minutes to spare, so went over and visited a local coffee roaster.

Good morning, the low is 6 and going up to 14°F. Wind ESE 3 mph. 60% chance of light snow, no accumulation stated though.

I think we will be lighting the wood stove today. It is getting down to 'that' temperature.

Other than babysitting the stove I plan on doing nothing. Ribs for supper tonight.

There are two wartime events I will never forget, the Halifax explosion December 6 1917 and Pearl Harbor, December 7 1941.

A documentary on the Halifax explosion:
The link works, just click on "watch on you tube".

Have a safe day all

Good morning tbn folks! AT camp with a balmy 8 degrees this morning. Today's high might be 16 with next to no breeze. After it being so breezy Friday we sure wondered about the stay here. Gee, sure glad we came. Plan to clear a bit more brush today before we leave this afternoon. Hope everyone's weekend is good.

Arly, keep warm.

Buckeye, did I read they are going to shut that exhibit down?
well, looked it up, actually they shut it down for maintenance this year but now it's back open.
above water maintenance I assume
watching the bubbles come up is very moving
most of the visitors when I was there were extremely respectful Japanese.
maybe for some of them it was like a native German looking at an old concentration camp.
You get reminded where your own people went very wrong.

Pretty sure both my Father and Uncle shipped out of Pearl at some point.
Well my uncle was in the navy so he shipped, but likely my father was flown all the way to China.
Maybe in a DC-3
