Drinking first cup of coffee. 28° with some clouds this morning. Heading to 37° with cloudy skies. Nothing showed up yesterday. So it was a conserve energy day. New lens are in at Sams Club. Pick them up today. The a Dr appointment. No other plans.
Deer must be hungry. Back at Burning Bush. One had to check water fall. No wonder I need a new net every couple of years. Used speaker to ask them what they were doing. Gone.

RNG, hope you get all your material delivered.

Kyle, hope your son is better today.

LS, like others. I will gladly help with support for your addiction. But I want more gravel spreading pictures/videos. :D

Drives, great pictures. Not sure the card is appropriate for a family site. But it is funny.

Bird, I do not have a car with the updated electronic gadget. But I did add a Garmin GPS that kind of gives me warnings if out of lane, to close and answers my phone and text. To update it only need to hook it to my computer.

Drew, hope you are getting better.

Good Morning All.

Good morning, another day of pesky swirling fog for us. Dry firewood is getting hard to find, I won't be doing as much stoking as mostly (neither would most firemen on a steam train :)), I will let the ground source pump can do most of the heating until things dry out a little.

Wng, fascinating to see so many half rings cut from your lightning tree without needing to power up the splitter. Never mind about falling in the creek, anywhere except on your head was a good result. How long ago was it struck ?

Here is the lower section on the ground. The upper section is behind me, across the creek :(

When it hit, it split apart down the middle, about halfway up from the ground. Looking back, not a safe tree to cut down.

I cut up one side at a time.

That might made good foot walk om muddy section on path.
Sure glad no one in tree stand at the time of the strike.

Thomas never seen a deer do that.
………...………...…...…….
Yep its a come practice for deer to act as such, the next coarse action they will run away or advance and use there hoofs,.
Mature Doe will use same action when feeding or Doe with young will push other deer away from feeding so her young can feed.

Good morning! 48˚F heading to the 60s with clear skies as a cool front has passed through and winds are from the NW.

Everything is quiet this morning on the Southern front, except for some mowers on the golf course. They are my alarm clock.

We are out of kale so a garden trip sometime today and still need to grease that other garage door. The cilantro is ready to start to pic also.
I harvested one large cabbage and made baked spring rolls. Still have half the head after using 4 cups of shredded cabbage.

I'll pick up some seed potatoes in a few weeks and cut them and let them harden in a coat of powdered sulfur since I don't have wood ash available anymore. Planting time will be the third week in February.

The washer hinge came last night at 6PM and was installed by 6:15PM. Wife is happy, all is well.

Time to walk the Whip.

Good Morning!!!! 44F @ 5:45AM. Areas of dense morning fog. Overcast. High 57F. Winds light and variable.

Lots of good firewood there, Wng. Can you get in there with a tractor to drag it back across the creek now?

The blacktail deer here will often snort and stomp when they smell something, usually me, they don't like. And they'll eat just about anything green when they get hungry. Anything but weeds, that is...:confused3:

Speaking of weeds, the areas of decomposed granite I sprayed with RM43 pre-emergent are sprouting tiny weeds like crazy. Time for another round, this time I'll go slower and get more of it on the ground.

Found I'd forgotten to reconnect a large air line on the van, and finally saw and fixed it yesterday. It's running again, but still doesn't want to start easily. Gonna try to pressurize the intake tract and listen for air leaks, and make a smoke machine from PVC pipe parts to help with that. I could buy a nice one for $200, or make this one for about $30...

Inventoried the solar rack parts yesterday, and it seems the outfit got the right numbers of everything into the boxes. Got a call from a fella at the seller saying he's still having trouble getting the shipper to make alternate delivery arrangements for the rails, but at least he's still trying and is keeping me updated. Moved the parts out to the shipping container for safe keeping, and ran a check with the laser level while it was open to check for settling. One corner had dropped by a quarter inch, but everything else looks good.

Nice evening on the back porch watching the sunset and the deer, warm enough I didn't need a campfire to keep off the chill.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Good Morning. It's 56° this morning and overcast. We're supposed to see the sun later and a high of about 66° this afternoon. Rain is out of the forecast till Saturday / Sunday.

We had 1" of rain as of 6 p.m. yesterday but, we had a bit more rain last evening ... it was very welcome. We're still behind from 2019 as we had just over 40" of rain last year.

I've been gathering materials to build a small "pasture drag" I can use with our Polaris Ranger to level old gopher mounds in our pastures instead of having to hook up the 3-point chain harrow every time. Hoping to move forward with that little project, and a couple others, today. Shop cleaning and reorganization continues.

Hope everyone has a great "Friday Eve".

Prayers to all.
