Good morning!!!!

successful morning
after haircut, which was nice, headed to Popgadget's with rv.
took twice as long because both main roads were blocked with paving and tree work.
tis the season.
burned out lights replaced, all lit up when done, outstanding.
And since I was trying to replace the gen spark plug with the wrong one....(could have swore I doublechecked)
out came the old one and Paul had a spare right there. So gen is fully serviced now

filled up with gas on way home, least expensive I've seen in a while.

handoff of tomatoes made and time to come home and stop sweating.
by time I had rv hooked up again, shirt was soaked.
on really hot days, assuming I'm not going somewhere, I stay cooler without a shirt

tomorrow morning when cool will climb up there and clean/wax all the old mounting crud off; new one half the size of
broken one. I also have to silicone the upper running light.
I love the wire weight!

Good job PopGadget!

weather forecast for next three days is very hot, mid to upper 90's, who knows what HI will be.
looks like I'm back on watering detail; this heat dries out the raised beds

Ken, I hope you are floating in your pool at lunchtime.

tempted to crank the a/c down a notch and take a nap
Sitting in front of my screens, chatting with people around the world.
So,,, bored :)
Did go out and put the hose into the pool to add some water though.

Nice photos! I'd make sure you get the fiberglass really clean as I have found out the hard way that silicone doesn't do well with residual wax.
I love the wire weight!

👍👍
And I love the idea of backing the RV up to a roof edge for additional safety! Nice job @Popgadget!

All the best,

Peter

And I love the idea of backing the RV up to a roof edge for additional safety!

there was even a bigger advantage
Paul's shop is completely air conditioned so when that far door was open, we still got a little cool air
coming out. On a hot sunny day that felt great, though we did close the doors when we were done.

having owned boats for a long time, I'm an old hand at cleaning fiberglass. I have to go to the hardware store anyway tomorrow
for a few other things and think I'll pick up a small can of acetone, and some rubber gloves. I already have the silicone caulk.
I think the acetone will dissolve all that stuck on crud, and then I'll follow up with cleaner wax on the exposed parts.
I have to seal the small fixture first,
then clean up the larger center area and then likely silicone that too.

the bad center fixture was stuck on with a ton of caulk. Upon closer inspection, the whole fixture had been broken in half, and someone
glued it poorly back together, and stuck it up there using a whole tube of caulk..
The oem fixture is 178 bucks so I can see why that didn't thrill them and they got the
glue out. Just can't figure out how they broke something all the way up there; housing wasn't crushed, made no sense.
I replaced it with one half the cost, half the size, and much better online ratings.

98/107 yuk

If you know fiberglass, then you know...

The long OEM light might just have fractured from the fiberglass flexing. RVs aren't exactly rigid.

Regardless, I'm glad that it was a successful fix!

All the best,

Peter

I need to stop listening to the weather hypers.
Finally got my butt in gear this morning, and mowed the yard. Was still wet some at noon, but got it all done.
Really wasn't bad out, nice breeze most of the time.
after mowing, decided to pull the battery from the tractor and charge it, and charger didn't even recognize a battery was attached.
so loaded battery in truck, returned it to costco, where I got money back for partial warranty, and got new battery.
Will install that in the morning when cooler in barn. Tried to start ranger, no go there.

watched several videos on taking sub cooling readings on AC unit, since mine use TXV valve. nameplate does not list expected value though.
Finally just decided to call a guy to come look at it. downstairs unit starting to freeze the evap coil.

70F, dark, and wet @ 20:30.

Got the lawn down around the house all mowed before the rain arrived.

Also drug another ash log up to the woodlot. Probably the heaviest one, was a bear since the sun was out, it was around 90F at the time, and chain kept coming off.

Hauled down another bucket load of wood chips on the return trip.

Skies started darkening up as I was finishing the mowing.

Special Weather Statement issued, followed by a Tornado Warning (radar indicated) … which was canceled within about 15 to 20 minutes.

Then a Dangerous Thunderstorm Warning.

That rolled in just about the time The Woman was getting home.

Got 1.75” in about 30 minutes and it’s still raining.

Had my first glass of iced tea out of the new unit with dinner.

Menards order is finished, just need to pull the trigger and place it.

Probably go pick it up tomorrow.

There is usually a chart either in the units documentation or on a sticker inside, the sub cooling value is dependent on inside temp (dry and wet bulb for RH) and outside temp. Absent the chart, there are apps that can provide a generic value. Having a sight glass on the liquid line leaving the condenser is a big help for quick evaluation.
A frozen evaporator is indicative of low refrigerant or low airflow. Make sure all returns are open and not blocked and the filter is clean.
Having a tradesman look at it isn’t a bad plan, but keep those things in mind as you watch him troubleshoot it to verify.

Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low of 6.4C and it's presently 14.0C, clear with a very gentle breeze.

Yesterday's 'tip' run went well as I included some gash (Navy slang for trash/garbage) from the shed. Surprised that the cost of dumping had gone up on the first of the month. Oh well, life goes on.

The Wine Faeries did indeed drop a 'bonus' case (14 bottles) at the PO.

Nothing planned for today. That's about it, take care all.

This is a new one for coffees I will blend.

Nice!

Sassy does not like the heat and humidity. Goes outside does her thing and back at door to get back inside. No car trips. Way to hot.
Same for me!

Working on pump station trainers at work. Still don't have all my fittings. Clear PVC is pricey! ka ching a ling!
PS. If you ever try to install clear PVC for a situation that you need to see whats happening inside the pipe, be sure to cut it with a band saw and not the ratcheting pvc cutters. It is much more brittle than white PVC.

Wifey made home made potato salad today. I had to pick out the raw celery....only like it cooked (like with a pot roast). Not sorry. Told her please next time to scoop me out a scoop before she adds raw celery. And definitely no Dijon mustard either. Gimme the cheap yellow stuff.

My son slow smoked some really nice pork chops on the Pitt Boss. They were delicious and had that smoke ring that you can see on the cross section. I believe they cooked for almost 3 hours at 250F. Prolly need to buy another bag of pellets.

We had Mexican food after church yesterday. It was delicious. The hot sauce and chips were awesome. Back to my diet.

Prayers for our team. Bupps and Holly, Ted and Dona, M7040 and wife, Dftodd's family. Our nation, ****** and Ukraine.

Coffee is done brewing. 67° with fog this morning. Heading to 88° with partly cloudy skies. Did some more work on directional light for Mule. Got switches mounted and tested wiring. It nice working the garage. But when I went outside it was like walking in to a wall. Went into house. Couple hours later Let Sassy out and humidity had dropped off. Decided to cut grass in front yard. That was enough for the day. Thunderstorm came thru about 3:30 and dropped .41" rain. PT this morning. Then will cut back back field if it is not to high in temperature and humidity.

I don't understand why my local state liquor store doesn't have wine faeries like Wagtail gets.
when I asked the guy at the counter where his wings were, he looked at me funny...
How come the Tasmanians get all the fun? ;)

actually our state liquor stores are usually very good, and have a great wine selection.
having had an alcoholic mother I never drink at home by myself. When I go out, fine, and usually I give
away most of the wine I buy. Always thought I was susceptible to dependency, so never tried any of the
more interesting choices out there. Likely a good idea. Life is tough enough on our bodies as it is.

Good Morning,
Working outside and hiking in this heat and humidity has been rough, but we are getting it done.
Billy, good to hear you back on again !
like to get my hands on a 22-250, but the gun safe is uncomfortably full
FWT, I have the Ruger Model 77 stainless barrel with the laminated stock and scope. You can drive tacks with it at 200 yds ! Deadly ! 😉 Great varmint gun IMO 😃
