good morning all. 41 going up to 61 today in sun and clouds, no rain until Sunday.
off to supermarket this morning, then home to wash truck. Got the car washed yesterday, felt great to be outside and warm.
Might also work on some machinery, sharpen some blades.
Hope all of you enjoy your day.
The worst day of the year was always New Year's Eve for me while a volunteer fireman. Every year the Instalert went off between 1am and 3am.
Some drunk driver usually had run off the road near one of our small wooden bridges and wound up in the canal (remember Jessica Savitch? same canal...).
Fire company always called out with rescue squad for auto extrication, rarely was anyone hurt badly. That happened on longer stretches with high speed.
I watched two teenagers die in front of me in ten years, one from a tractor rollover on a hill, old Farmall without Rops...
and another from a bad car accident , sucking chest wound.
I had nightmares for a long time. Now I just avoid driving that night, happy to be home. Yes, let's all be safe out there.
Hope you all have fun with Christmas gifts and not too many are Assembly Required.
