Good morning!!!!

good morning all. 41 going up to 61 today in sun and clouds, no rain until Sunday.
off to supermarket this morning, then home to wash truck. Got the car washed yesterday, felt great to be outside and warm.
Might also work on some machinery, sharpen some blades.
Hope all of you enjoy your day.

The worst day of the year was always New Year's Eve for me while a volunteer fireman. Every year the Instalert went off between 1am and 3am.
Some drunk driver usually had run off the road near one of our small wooden bridges and wound up in the canal (remember Jessica Savitch? same canal...).
Fire company always called out with rescue squad for auto extrication, rarely was anyone hurt badly. That happened on longer stretches with high speed.
I watched two teenagers die in front of me in ten years, one from a tractor rollover on a hill, old Farmall without Rops...
and another from a bad car accident , sucking chest wound.
I had nightmares for a long time. Now I just avoid driving that night, happy to be home. Yes, let's all be safe out there.

Hope you all have fun with Christmas gifts and not too many are Assembly Required.

23 right now...high in the mid-30's today.
Had a very nice Christmas...nobody got upset or rowdy. Gifts were all appreciated.
Wife and Stepdaughter both have doctor's appointments today...I might run up for a haircut and maybe a dump run (got to check if they're open though)

Drinking first cup of coffee. 37ー with some fog this morning. Heading to 56ー with cloudy skies. Had a good Christmas day. With lots of phone calls. Then spent afternoon with aunt and cousins. Will be driving to Ann Arbor to pick up a zoom lens for camera. Then some shopping on the way home. Maybe put exercise bike together when I get back.

Hope everyone had as good a Christmas day as I had.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.

Went to visit local grandson and see his goodies, then to visit mom, dinner at daughter in law’s.
Was supposed to have a big get together at my father in laws house, but he was sick and ended up in the Er with kidney and gall stones. Not sure what’s next for him.
My kids will be here this weekend to do it all over again.
Have a good day folks and prayers all around.

Good Morning Everyone and Happy Boxer Day!!!!

An overcast 23ºF for today's low temperature; 30ºF and mostly overcast presently; and hopefully some sunshine breaking through the cloud deck and an*afternoon high*~40ºF. *With all*the rain in my foreseeable near term future and considering the existing snow/icepack it may be time to break out the crampons and Yaktrax® to safely walk around here. Nothing planned for today other than try to get the lawnmower started and start making some kind of stand for the solar powered battery maintainer that Santa brought.

My planned meal last night turned out to be great eats; unfortunately Wifey could not enjoy the experience due to serious GI challenges related to the pain and anti-inflammatory meds she’s taking. :(. I see lots of lamb and gravy morphing to lamb stew morphing to lamb soup in our futures. Mushrooms start to appear somewhere in the process. It was a quiet day which in itself was good.

Don- Now you’ll have to worry about the early afternoon drunk drivers.

Pineridge- I agree. We stay home to celebrate New Years nowadays. It’s a lot safer to navigate within the house than try to navigate the roads around here in Winter.

Bruce- It was a decent haul this year and I really was not that “good.”:cool: I really like chicken cordon blue, but it’s a PITA to make.

David- That chicken cordon blue looks like great eats.

Drew- I am sorry to read about those kids and how their deaths impacted on you and the many others like you who have been in similar situations.:( I am happy that you have achieved some degree of resolution.

Randy- I am sorry to read about your FIL...

I hope that everyone is having a decent day today working and/or recovering from all the great eats, etc.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Good morning to all! Frosty out this morning, low of 27. We had rain showers yesterday morning and a few flurries last night. Today will be the nice day of the week, a stronger storm moving in for Friday and Saturday.

Well, the surprise went off without a hitch! Total shock on the MIL! She never had a clue! It was a great family reunion. Dinner was wonderful, a little difficult herding everyone to come sit down, especially the kids, with all the excitement of Christmas. All in all, everything was fantastic.

Sounds like everyone had a good day, in whatever way they celebrated.... I hope that continues for all.

Here are a few pics of the set up for the dinner.... and one of the “ shock “

Everyone have a great day! Prayers sent.

Now that Christmas is almost over our thoughts go to New Years Eve. In consideration of the old people in our town, the town will have the New Years Eve countdown in the town square Dec. 31st at 1200pm NOON! I won't have to think of staying up late or driving home in the dark with drunks.

Like they say, it’s 12:00 somewhere.
