Good evening all. 44F for the start, cloudy, moderate breeze. Wind kicked up, overcast stayed all day, 1/4 inch in rain bucket, and high temp was 46F. Low temp will be at midnight, and will be about 37F. Forecast for tomorrow bike ride is about 40F at start, less wind than today, and more sun. Puttering to start day, shovel ash out of fireplace, tie firewood tarp back down, bike ride, nap (3 hours!) and get ready for ride tomorrow. Can't tell I picked up leaves last week :(
David, man that is a lot of money!! :confused2:
Billy, try to use station that turns the gas over a lot, ie tank truck delivering gas 1/wk or more. Also use marine grade stabil.
RNG I hate when I spend time looking for stuff, then find it where I set it down. Good luck on your solar project. I have heard there is a shelf life to stabil.
Don congrats on Dr visit.
Buckeye cool on driving again!
PJ, after paying the state $30 for new license that expires on same date as old one I have the star on mine. When I got my TX drivers license, I did show Mo driver's license and org. birth certificate. Wife had to also provide first marriage license, first hubby death cert. , and second marriage cert. to get her TX license.
Hawkeye, sorry to hear about daughter, hope she recovers soon.
Drew glad potato give away went well.
Randy nice cars, never owned anything close to muscle cars, however older brother swapped cars with me for a semester, was driving '73 'Cuda (red) during swap :)
prayers for all.

Mostly, you have to remember Billy is a bow hunter and they take every opportunity to build up those biceps. Bet he fills it with stale fuel on purpose and doesn't even flick the switch to "On" for the first 100 pulls

I had quite the guffaw laugh over that one Eric. Wng, I'd recommend you park that log splitter on a hill, so that you and coco can push start it next time...

Good morning all
Sorry I have been AWOL and have lots to catch up on hope all are healthy and doing well.
It been a busy time where it seems like not enough hours in the day, started with getting boats out of water and hasn't ended yet. I managed to get mower off the John Deere and mounting the rear snowblower and found that some time over the summer some critter chewed up the wires to the shoot control. With any luck today I'll get the bucket off and mount the snow plow this afternoon. Presently I'm cooking a stuffed pork roast to bring to my daughter at work for the office party at lunch time.
My youngest daughter rents my mom's house from my brothers and I and over the course of one week the washer 36 years old, dryer 32 years old and fridge about 60 year old GE all needed replacement so what does a dad do for daughter just starting out on her own buy new of course Merry Christmas. Guess it's true they just don't make things like they use to.
Finally did decide on a new truck GMC 1500.
Well back to my kitchen have a good day.View attachment 629576

Beautiful truck. Your story had me thinking of the commercial with the appliance demon coming into the woman's home.

David, I like your new ridgeline too.

Good morning! 50˚F cloudy north wind, heading your way Rick. High today only 58˚F.
Good day to make a carrot cake with lemon icing. (no eggs, no oil, no dairy) Just carrots, ground oatmeal, pureed dates, pineapple, almond milk, & spices.
Oh, Found a cardiologist in the area since we moved and had an appointment yesterday just to get established after a two years of no appointments. He check me over and labs and said that since I am already plant based that he does not have to give me that lecture, in fact when he said he had gone plant based 8 months ago we had a real good conversation on recipes and Dr. Greger. NutritionFacts.org | The Latest Nutrition Related Topics The 12 lead EKG was perfect and could not detect any heart damage from the heart attack 8 years ago. He said see you next year to compare notes again.

This is great news Don, now, if you only had so much success with hand and foot.

21F this morning, heavy frost. Daughter that lives with us has had the congestion/cough for more than a month, she went to doc a week ago and they gave her meds for bronchitis, she is doing better but the cough is hanging on and now has caused some muscle pain in her back, really gets her when she coughs.. Wife was taking her to ER this morning to see if anything is going on.. she heard and felt a pop and is in bad pain, can't hardly move..

I got school bus drop off duty for grand daughter.. she loves going to school and learning.. awesome bus driver too, all the kids like him.

I have a meeting later this morning, see if the 'other' job is a fit.. might be good to get out of the group I am in completely.. and it would use the knowledge I have gained the last 20 years.

Lots going on, glad folks are posting, I really enjoy reading how things are going for folks. David, nice job on solar work. Thanks for sharing.

Stay safe, prayers for those in need.

Hope they figure out your daughter's problem and it gets better soon. Prayers headed your way. Also, I was thinking you might take the first job for a year and re-assess too.

Drew, that's a lot of sweet potatoes.

Drew they are almost giving away sweet potatoes at every HEB grocery store in Tx.

What is the story on Sweet Potatoes this year, an overprotective year? The effects of Climate change/Global Warming?

Too many people planted too many.

Make sweet potato french fries.

Been busy. You guys are prolific. It took me over an hour to catch up. Of course I had to look up Lionel Trains, Stoddard Solvent, and other stuff. David, hope your solar project lasts you a loooooong time. Between you and BEF, we got an education.

RNG, you will need beefier implements to "push" from the front of a skid steer. Built for "compression" rather than "tension".

Got the oil changed on the car last night. Now, I'm having a squeak from the front right wheel, only when it's stone cold. I'm thinking it might be the carrier bearing for the CV half shaft driveline....but that's just a guess. Hope to look at it tomorrow, but I hate doing mechanical work in the cold...(relative cold)...

Took daughter to guitar practice last Wednesday night.....there were about 8 students there. Our church's worship leader gal is teaching them as part of youth group ministry. They need to have beginner and intermediate classes. Then I got to listen to some of the girls sing in harmony, practicing a song for our city's Thanksgiving service....a group effort from all the church's in town that want to participate.

Had a few rough days with our autistic daughter. Hard to tell where her autism leaves off and her stubbornness takes over. Tonight has been fine though.

Just got home from the airport with the youngest home for break. I was in the rehab center and not walking when he last saw me.

Really liking the Ridgeline so far. Drove it this morning, again tonight. Took her to dinner at her request. Celebrate 21 years ago she didn’t die. Live sure has been an adventure ever since.

Ridgeline has lots of bells and whistles we never had before. Couldn’t help but think that kids the grow up learning to drive with all this stuff will likely be less attuned than those of us that learned without.

Used the Maps feature tonight. Apparently truck doesn’t know which side of the street it lives on yet. Hope it learns where home is.

Good morning all.
49 up to 55 today in clouds and rain coming in this afternoon.
Helper coming this morning, going to take a lot of old office equipment I should have given away five years ago, to
final resting spot at dump. Scanners, laser printers, most at least ten years old, not sure what works and what doesn't.
Before I take them to dump I'll call local charity downtown and see if they take this stuff. Pretty sure they don't.
So up early working in storage closets on second floor, stuff literally stuffed in there when I moved and never touched since.
the time has come...

Then working on hanging wreaths along lane, maybe some xmas lights, still seems early to me,
next week will be dry so I'm going to try to get them up by Wednesday.
