I went to evening worship. We have sun AM class and worship, PM worship and class, and Wednesday night class. My wife also attends a Monday night ladies class. We attend all unless we are sick.

Good trip to DMV this morning. 3rd in line. Almost in and out. Handicap plates on hold until we get new truck plates. Wife decided against transferring to Pilot as we use truck significantly more. New plates issued for Tundra, new title for Pilot, about 10 minutes and $10.50.
Wife’s name needs to be on registration for her handicap plate so had to do her application with Honda Finance online. Not crazy about getting a car loan, but 0.9% is attactive. We’d potentially lose more taking it out off our investments.
Got what I needed at HD and was still early so went to Hawaii Campers. Basically ordered same bed top (Leer) and rack (Thule) as I have on Tundra. About 5 weeks. Shocker was price was nearly 40% above what I paid 7 years ago. Ouch. Probably good thing wife didn’t go in with me. Our dogs sure have it made

Did get all my prep done for the big upgrade tomorrow.

Good morning all. A slightly chilly -3C/26F here, with a weak sun taking it's time to eat away the frost.

Hawkeye, after feeling down a short while ago, it must now feel real nice to have all those job choices :thumbsup:

David, hope all goes well with the upgrade today/tomorrow ( The bend in your time zone always gets me :confused2: Perhaps when you live in Paradise, today and tomorrow seamlessly blend into one another anyway ? )

A few days ago I started to make something to hold the top of the water tank cover together and yesterday was dry enough to let me get out and finish it off. The thing is starting to get heavy so it needed to incorporate a lifting eye to one day suspend it from the FEL to lower it into place. After sketching different ideas I settled on a square plate to which are attached 8 short steel bars, each angled so they could be welded into the V of the angle iron. A piece of wood made a good trial and error (with lots of errors!) template.

It was easiest to position the first bars across the diagonal and then cut out where the hole is once they had been tacked into place.



In retrospect I should have made this top piece before anything else and used it to align all the ribs instead of balancing them on an empty paint can, which meant nothing was firm until all 8 pieces were tacked into place. I hadn't anticipated quite how difficult it would be for a novice fabricator like me to get all 8 sides equal, or how tight it would be to poke in a welding rod to some of the welds on the underside.

We live and learn - I have just about learnt enough to make this my last octagonal structure :laughing:

The temp is 27°F and going to a high of 36. Wind ENE 9 mph. Partly cloudy/sunny.

I have a short town run this morning.

My buddy from Toronto came up last week for a deer hunt with 8 other guys. They got one little doe. Buddy told me that they had more snow down there (Toronto) than we had up here. This makes me happy.

Furnace oil coming today.

Good morning, I’m amazed at the talent on this forum!
Buppies I was sorry to read about the tires.
Got my driveway done yesterday and finished moving some large pines that fell in the storm. Cut them into 3 pcs and shoved them into the woods. I finally buried some old roof shingles that were in the edge of the woods for the whole time I have been here.

Poured second cup of coffee. 28° with freezing fog this morning. Heading to 44° with cloudy skies. Still need to grease tractor and mower. Dentist appointment this morning. Will see what comes after that.

Buckeye, all my boat covers were Sunbrella. My storage cover for motorhome was made with it. Lasted a long time. But it will cost a lot more than vinyl. My slides and awnings had covers over them when rolled up. Dometic called them weathersheild.

Eric, project looks good. Will your tractor be able to lift it when done?

Buppies, getting rained on when it's cold out. Brrrrrrrrrr.

Don, more pictures after Thanksgiving. :thumbsup: Those pictures remind me of some of the things we did during my visits.
