Got a two room suite at the Quantico Marine Corp Base BOQ for $35.00 a night for myself, wife and daughter! Where else can you stay in the DC metro area for $35.00 a night and have armed Marines keep you safe?

As a side note for all those Marines and Navy Corpsmen that were attached to a Marine unit...

The Marine Corps League also has discount programs for Members...
A few times I have seen 40% discount at Choice Hotels!
a few weeks ago I paid ~$67 for a room via discount and when I called direct it was ~$105.

Oh man! I can think of lots of jokes like, "Where else would you need armed Marines to be safe?"

Actually, that's a very good deal. There are lots of ways to save money by taking advantage of benefits like that. Just last week, I stayed in a Best Western Motel in East Texas and showed my military ID. My rate dropped from $85 per night down to $65, and I didn't even have a reservation. As you have shown, sometimes the best way to have money is to save money. Did you have to make reservations?

Jim, Wife did make reservations. She and my daughter did feel unconfortable when Marines walked into Mcdonalds on base wearing side arms and Marines walking the street carrying automatic weapons!
