Tractor
JD 2305
I have posted on the 2 orange and 1 red tractor discussion groups here. This forum is very good for newbies(me).
Been looking for a small TLB for while and never gave the green tractors much consideration. So last week I am at a local mkt sale and a guy is there with 2 JD,a 2305 and a ZT mower. He's from a dealer bout 30 miles from me and figure wth, I'll ask about the 2305. it was tractor with MMM only ,no fel or bh.
"How much for this with a BH and loader?"
Expecting to get a price that would just make me laugh, I got a price from him in writing that I was more than OK with and next day went put deposit on it- pick it up next week.( I was ALWAYS under impression Green tractors were the 'spensive ones)
So I guess I am gonna blend in with the grass better on this tractor than an orange one. Can hardly wait to start diggin holes all over town looking for buried money. Now to search out some implements. yeehah

Congrats on the green purchase. I'm apparently not as flush as you in purchasing attachments but I am well satisfied with my 4110. I built a fel and weight box along with a hydro turn snow plow. I have the 60" mmm which seems to cover my large lawn fairly quickly.
There is alot of quality built into these machines which the average buyer is not aware of. Good luck finding your pot of gold and have many safe years of operation.

Thanks for welcome. I am not too flush myself, thats why I had been looking for used tractors of any color, really. wasnt even considering a new green one . Not mentioning price but it was 400 LESS than a 2 yr old/100 hr. same make and setup tractor at another dealer. less than 1000 more than a 3 yr old 250 hr orange one local to me. If you knew me like my friends do, you wouldn't believe I bought something new. My last new vehicle of any type was in 1982.

That rocks - perception and reality don't always correspond.

Congrats,

Today spent all day cleaning out one garage to put new tractor in . I pick it up Monday. was going to clean out middle garage but figure, hey if I make just enuff room in one garage to put new toy, when I get it home I can use it to scoop out or push to back of the other 2 garages!:D Thats using the old noodle, scoop, reverse, turn ,dump ! ahhh work smarter not dumderer. hehehe.
This could be fun.....

Using a fel to clean up a garage works pretty well, you just have to shut your eyes when you run forward to get a bucket full. That way you dont see the golf clubs and fishing rods.:D

I hope so. been looking for over a year, wanted to get a used one -mostly looked at orange and redones with a blus one here and there. even tho its the smallest tlb, its a big step up from my CC107 and I love that little garden tractor- it has balls baby for a 10hp 30+ year old "lawn mower" plowed snow this year like a champ, can move a 4000lb car around the driveway, pulls a 4x 8 util. trailer with all the dirt I can shovel in it -no problem.
The new green "baby backhoe" -thats what i call it will be a good way to learn how to operate - and I can sell it in a year for what I paid for it,based on what prices Ive seen on all the tractor forums. hmmmm digging holes, wheres the money hidden......

Your experience is pretty much the same as mine. 4 years ago I went looking for Orange and found Green to be cheaper. Bought a 4310 at that time.

A year ago I started looking, but didn't really expect to trade. Went to the orange dealer and was offered a price that didn't interest me. Went to the Deere dealer and he made me a fantastic offer. I ended up buying a new 3520 and have been very pleased with it.

Only confirming your observation that the perception of green paint being too expensive is not always correct.

I also had the same expeience as you.I owned a kubota and was looking to upgrade to cab tractor.I looked at the kubota first and also the newholland lineup and almost as an after thought (i thought green meant it cost alot of green) i looked at the JD.After all my research the deere was the best i thought for quality and price.

I bought a 3720 cab and i could not be any happier that i did. good luck with your purchase im sure you will have many years of enjoyment with it.
