That is a good looking dog...... why not switch this picture for the one under your name????? I have always been partial to Golden's vs. little ankle biters (Poms)... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Picked up the ankle biter eight years ago as a pup, spoiled, acts dumb but is very smart and crafty. Left her at home with the son.

The golden we picked up last April from someone who had picked her up from someone who no longer needed her. In other words she could no longer hunt all day and they replaced her with a younger dog. The people who we picked her up from could not keep her in the rented house they were in. She just turned twelve last month. Well behaved and likes everyone. Brought her down here with us for the winter.

Next dog will be a golden, really like the breed.

As far as switching the pictures the golden does not act dumb, always reserved and smart.

The ankle biter will defend the homeland fearlessly, the Golden will point out the valuables. They all have there good points, and I joke about the ankle biter, but I know them as good lovable dogs. The golden is a great dog. It is a shame that a person would give up a faithful pet in its twilight years, but it is still better than putting her down. If I were a dog, I would wonder why I was suddenly changing owners after so many years. Guess that is the difference between humans and dogs, we think, they just love.... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

In another 50 years or so we'll both catch up with Bird.

As for the dogs ... you just got to love them all. No matter what types or types, they all bring something different to the table except for the devotion they all give. Whoever said, "Please let me be half the man my dog thinks I am" probably got it right.

Here is a picture of my Golden caught in the act of ripping the arms off an intruder. He sure looks guilty.
Sorry about hijacking. Happy Golden posting!
