Gee, is having goats in the house unusual??? Seems perfectally normal to me.
My wife and I own a dairy goat farm, and we have anywhere from a half dozen to a few dozen kids in the house from February to April. When a doe freshens (has her babies) we immediately take them in the house to bottle feed them. They stay in the house until they're strong enough to go on a "suck-it bucket", a bucket with a bunch of nipples in it. When the kids can go on the suck-it bucket, we have stalls in one of the barns with kids of varying ages. But it can be a few weeks before they're ready to go in the barn, so we have lots of goat kids in the house for several months.
We also have 4 dogs, and they LOVE to help take care of the kids. They make sure the babies are clean, and they let us know if any of them are getting into trouble. They're great kid sitters.
