Hello Big Wave D, Now that you know that it's a fuel problem, remove the fuel relay, short the fuel pump, with a jumper wire. Listen for the fuel pump to run. Crank the engine. If it runs, this will narrow your problem to a relay, problem, or the fuel pump. or both. A bad fuel pump will burn out the relay. Both the fuel pump, and the realy can work intermitently. Find the amp draw, and the ohm, values for the fuel pump. You can test it at the relay.

If the fuel pump is the problem make sure the feed thru in the sender housing is not burnt in the connection that is a very common problem with GM and several others.

Mostly these days if I replace a pump I get the whole sender/pump assembly its not much more money and they occasionally have a pigtail that you can splice into the harness if the connector is bad. hth
